AMU Hostel Raid Uncovers Illegal Ammo and Fake Currency

On April 8, Uttar Pradesh police and AMU security searched a room in Sir Ziauddin Hall after a tip from a recent firing incident, finding live pistol bullets, empty magazines, shotgun cartridges, eight phones, a laptop, forged certificates, and suspected counterfeit ₹500 and ₹100 notes. The main suspect, Shevaaz-a non-resident student who illegally occupied the room for months using aliases like Shahwaz-remains at large, while one authorized resident faces questioning.

Authorities filed FIRs for forgery, Arms Act violations, and more, as social media users question hostel oversight at the historic campus.
