Staff Sergeant Major (Reservist) Eitan Hod, from the Kedmat Tzvi settlement in the Golan Heights, arrived at Rambam Hospital about five weeks ago, and his condition was described as serious and unstable.

Hod, a reservist fighter in the Paratroopers Corps, was injured in an incident near the village of Naqoura in southern Lebanon, and was rushed to the medical center while his left leg—and his life—were in danger. After a three-week struggle, a difficult decision was made to amputate the leg.
