🗣🇨🇳 Why my children learn to speak Chinese
✍️ The unipolar era that followed the Cold War is over, power is no longer concentrated in one capital, and the world has already entered a multipolar age, Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Sputnik's parent media group Rossiya Segodnya and editor-in-chief of RT, wrote in an article.
Marking UN Chinese Language Day, Simonyan said fluency in Chinese is no longer just an advantage but a necessity, citing China’s central role in the global economy, technology, geopolitics, manufacturing, and military affairs.
👉 She revealed that her children began learning Chinese from infancy, saying language is more valuable than property or status because it shapes how people see the world.
Simonyan also highlighted growing Russia-China ties, describing them as rooted in history, geography, and shared resistance to Western dominance in politics and media.
The next generation will grow up in a world shaped by multiple centers of power, where understanding major languages, especially Chinese, will be a strategic asset, she concluded.

🚨🤖 Russian Echo platform for combating cyberattacks shown abroad for first time
The Russian Echo platform, developed by Angara Security for managing digital footprints and countering cyberattacks, has been presented outside the Russian Federation for the first time — at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) international weapons and military equipment exhibition in Malaysia.
👉 The solution is being demonstrated as part of the joint Russian exposition of Rosoboronexport (a subsidiary of the Rostec state corporation).
Echo provides automated collection and analysis of data from both indexed and non-indexed sources, helping organizations respond quickly to threats and reduce risks.
🔸 The platform monitors information across four key parameters: domains, legal entity names, brands, and key personnel. The system can identify data leaks (including logins and passwords), phishing sites, as well as track cyberattacks, document leaks, media attacks, and other threats.
The Echo platform is being demonstrated as part of the DSA exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, which runs until April 23.

🚨 Yuan holds steady vs dollar as Iran ceasefire doubts grow
The Chinese yuan traded nearly unchanged at 6.8191 per dollar on Monday, as markets watched for a political resolution to the Iran conflict despite rising tensions over the weekend that put the fragile ceasefire at risk.
While the dollar edged up on fresh uncertainty around potential US-Iran talks, analysts see long-term strength for the yuan backed by China’s economic resilience and reduced appetite for the greenback.

🚨 Why the Strait of Malacca could be next global chokepoint after Hormuz
An adviser to Iran’s supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei warns of “a chain-reaction response” in more critical shipping lanes — and he mentioned Malacca specifically.
Here's why:
🔸 The Strait of Malacca is an narrow bottleneck (2.8 km at the narrowest point) that connects the Indian Ocean to the South China Sea (and thus the Pacific)
🔸 Handles roughly 30% of global maritime trade
🔸 Carries 23–25M barrels of oil per day, representing ~30% of all seaborne oil trade globally
🔸 Supplies ~80% of 🇨🇳China’s crude oil imports (China alone takes nearly half of the oil passing through)
🔸 Vital for Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other East Asian economies that import oil & LNG from the Middle East
Any disruption would force ships to take much longer and far more expensive alternative routes around Indonesia, causing immediate spikes in global oil prices, shipping costs, and supply chain chaos — especially hitting China’s energy security.

🚨 Iran slams US attack on merchant ship as act of aggression
By continually violating the ceasefire, the United States has demonstrated that it is not serious about the diplomatic process, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei underscored.
💬 “The US’ recent actions, including violating agreements with Lebanon and attempting to impose a naval blockade on Iran, which led to the attack on an Iranian merchant vessel, are a clear example of Washington’s ‘aggressive actions’ mentioned by United Nations resolutions,” Baghaei noted.
💬 “Therefore, Iran, acting in accordance with its national interests, will make an appropriate decision regarding the continuation of the negotiation process” between Iran and the US, Baghaei concluded.
