Russian air defense forces, mobile fire teams and military aviation destroyed nearly 2k attack drones and eight long-range cruise missiles fired by Ukraine September 19-20, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
The attack included 1,951 drones, and eight Flamingo cruise missiles which were destroyed on approach to Moscow.
🗣“The attempt at a massive attack on Moscow failed. The enemy did not achieve its objectives,” the ministry stressed, adding that it would “continue and intensify” its own “precision-guided strikes against military targets in Kiev.”

🔥Russian strikes leave Ukraine’s biggest steel producers offline – report
Ukraine’s steel industry has effectively been brought to a halt after Russian strikes damaged three of the country’s largest steel plants in Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions, the Financial Times reported, citing industry representatives.
The affected facilities, including Metinvest plants and ArcelorMittal’s steelworks in Krivoy Rog, previously accounted for around 90% of Ukraine’s steel production. The shutdowns have left thousands of workers idle and could affect industrial output, tax revenues, and the wider economy.
🗣“As of today, [Ukraine] doesn’t have a steel industry anymore," Oleksandr Vodoviz, head of the chief executive’s office at Metinvest, said.

The White House is preparing to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing officials and documents viewed by the paper.

🔹 The treatment uses alkoxyamines, which generate radicals that destroy cellular structures but are normally too toxic for healthy tissue
🔹 Researchers linked the active compound to galactose via a self-immolative linker, keeping it inactive until it meets β-galactosidase, an enzyme elevated in cancer cells
🔹 Once triggered, the linker breaks apart and releases the alkoxyamine inside the malignant cell, killing it
🔹 The compounds suppressed several cancer cell types in lab tests, including prostate, ovarian, and breast cancers and T-lymphoblastic leukaemia
The approach points toward cancer treatments that deliver their toxic effect more precisely while reducing damage to healthy tissue.

Russia repels largest drone attack yet as parliamentary elections continue
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has issued a statement:
“The largest enemy drone attack to date has been repelled. Since yesterday, more than 1,600 UAVs have been intercepted across all defensive lines, including 450 that were approaching Moscow.
My thanks to the air defense personnel for their dedicated service.
Nevertheless, several drones reached the Moscow Oil Refinery, and one struck a residential building. There were no fatalities.
This unprecedented attack was clearly intended to disrupt the elections. The attackers did not succeed.”
