Police in Spain, specifically in the autonomous region of Catalonia, are very alert when they spot someone using a Google Pixel phone. “Every time we see a Google Pixel, we suspect it might belong to a drug dealer,” said a police official leading the anti-drug operation in Catalonia, Spain.

Specifically, organized crime members in Catalonia use GrapheneOS as it features secure and well-executed full disk and metadata encryption, a security feature exploited by miscreants.

Criminals are reportedly physically removing these components to reduce the risk they’re exposed to, along with the GPS and microphone.
The police’s solution to counter these clever tricks is to infect suspects’ phones with malware to gain full access to apps, media, documents, and more.

The AndroidFileHost was abandoned in 2023 and went offline a few weeks ago. Because of that, a lot of Android development history, custom ROMs, kernels, gapps, etc. has been lost.

So, a reddit user has created AFHArchive, a site dedicated to preserving the files that were once hosted on AndroidFileHost. While uploading large files, just include as much info as you can, and after a review by the admins, they’ll be published for everyone to access again.

NOTE: AFHArchive is dedicated to preserving files that were previously hosted on AndroidFileHost.

• Only upload files that were once on AFH

Google ordered to pay $12,500 to policeman after Street View camera caught him naked

An Argentine captured naked in his yard by a Google Street View camera has been awarded compensation by a court after his bare behind was splashed over the internet for all to see.

The poliecman was standing naked in the backyard of his home in Argentina when a Google camera mounted on a vehicle photographed him in 2015. The camera managed to captured his buttocks and back, and the photo viral after local television station published it as part of a special news segment on the peculiarities behind Google Street View in the city of 45,000 residents.

The cop eventually learned of the image while watching a news program and filed a lawsuit against Google Argentina in 2017. The officer claimed he was ridiculed by his neighbors and that he would only leave his home to work.

'In the app, when the front of the house is displayed, the street numbers are easily readable,' the judges said in their opinion. 'Moving the cursor allows you to zoom in and out from the street, allowing you to see inside the house and even make out a front yard/garden behind the fence. It is clear that in this case it was not her face that was visible, but her entire naked body, an image that should also have been avoided.'

Google Argentina was instructed to eliminate the photograph from its Street View and faces a fine of $78 for each day that it fails to do so. Cablevisión SA and El Censor SRL, who were also sued for publishing the photos on television, cleared by the court of any wrongdoing.

In 2021, Microsoft announced Windows 11 SE as a lightweight Windows OS to compete with Google’s ChromeOS.
