📊Microsoft optimizes the WinUI 3 framework to improve Windows 11 performance. As you know, the company launched the Windows K2 initiative late last year to address core issues in Windows 11, and plans to migrate key OS components to the WinUI 3 framework. Microsoft has published GitHub updates on WinUI 3 improvements, aiming to make it the best native UI platform for Windows interfaces and apps, with performance improvements prioritized.
The team tested changes using File Explorer and Notepad to evaluate app startup metrics. Results showed memory allocations fell by 41 percent, short lived allocations fell by 63 percent, function calls fell by 45 percent, and WinUI code execution time improved by 25 percent. Microsoft plans to land these changes first in the Dev branch, then merge them into winui3/main.
Beth Pan, a Microsoft engineer, said the company coordinates with other Windows teams to ensure comprehensive improvements and described the work as long term, focused on strengthening fundamentals and raising system quality. Microsoft also tests a Low Latency Profile, which briefly raises CPU clock speed when users open apps, system popups, and context menus, to improve responsiveness.
I guess I'm done for the day then.
Oh wait, before getting done for the day, in the Developers Cut, it was said that all of the data remains "securely isolated" on device, and private from third parties. Google won't be able to see the data as well.
Users will be able to opt-out from any specific app as well.
I guess I'm done for the day now.

Android is getting 3D Emojis. I guess it's good, what do y'all think?

After the Android Show announcement, a lot of people thought Google's about to copy Liquid Glass 😭🥀
But well.. that's not what's happening here.
Instead, it seems like Google's heavily expanding blur effects across the UI in Android 17!
From what we've seen, blur has been added to:
- Volume slider and expanded volume panel
- Power menu UI
- Lockscreen shortcuts and notifications
- Home screen context menu
We've attached some screenshots for a visual reference 👀
What do you think about these changes?

With big screens comes great expectations... maybe? 💻✨
Ahead of today's Google IO 2026 event, the overall expectations are quite high. So far, all we can do is wait a little longer and see what Google’s got up its sleeve.
But based on previous statements and rumors, Big G might finally give us a first glimpse of its upcoming Desktop OS, the one set to replace ChromeOS (possibly as early as late 2026): AluminiumOS, also known as Android Desktop.
As we've promised a while back, we have some juicy informations for you, and now we're here to deliver: By clicking right here, you can take a look at how the OS is going to look like... and yes, this is all running on a MacBook Pro through UTM... ironic, isn't it?
Now, let’s be honest: Google’s ALOS is no secret. It’s essentially plain Android, but with most of the desktop-experience quirks you’d expect, including:
•Desktop folders
•Virtual desktops
•An optimized Quick Settings & notifications panel
•Touchpad & keyboard gestures and shortcuts
•Certain optimized apps (like the task manager)
•A solid ecosystem between your laptop and mobile devices, including Apple ones, through "Link to iOS"
However... here comes the delusional part:
As of now, that’s pretty much it. The current state of ALOS feels closer to a slightly pimped version of Samsung DeX than to an actual desktop-class OS, with its biggest shortcomings being the absolutely non-existent selection of mouse & keyboard optimized apps (even most of the Google apps you see are just web versions wrapped in a window!), plus the limited hardware it’ll run on (cause let's be honest, Snapdragon X chips aren't nearly as good as Apple's M series)
Still, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for some good news from Google this evening
Do you think ALOS has a bright future ahead? Or is it destined for the infamous "Killed by Google" graveyard sooner rather than later?

Sony Xperia 1 VIII features AI Camera Assistant powered by "Xperia Intelligence"
Sony notes that:
The new AI Camera Assistant powered by Xperia Intelligence is designed to make photography even more enjoyable. By simply pointing the camera at your subject, it automatically recognises the scene by combining various factors such as the subject itself and weather conditions to suggest different options for your image that include colour tones, lens effects and bokeh expressions. These recommendations are based on Creative Look that reflect Sony’s unique imaging philosophy cultivated through α™ (Alpha™). With a simple tap on the suggestion, you can effortlessly achieve your desired creative expression.
According to Sony, the Xperia VIII display is exactly 1.0 times brighter than the Xperia VII display

Google has introduced "Gemini Intelligence" which will help you automate a lot of stuff on Android.
You'll be able to design new widgets as well.
It will even let you browse and automatically performs tasks on a website or in an App.
It can fill forms as well, with a Gemini-powered autofill on websites, including all your information including your name, email, passwords, passport info (if you're booking a flight), and more, with wallet and photos integration.

NO WAY.. Google is finally giving users actual Material YOU 😭🎨
It looks like Google is preparing a pretty major upgrade for the Wallpaper & Style app.
We've discovered a brand-new color customization UI that allows users to manually adjust Material You colors and color variants 👀
Google added a dedicated color slider that lets users fine-tune the exact accent tone instead of being limited to the usual color palettes.
What do you think about this?
