New genetic study on the origin of the Slavs:
The Proto-Balto-Slavs originated from a mix of Bell Beaker, Corded Ware, Baltic Hunter-Gatherer, & Ukrainian Neolithic populations.
The more westerly PBS populations of eastern central Europe were replaced by Scandinavians via the Gothic expansion into Poland, Ukraine, & Hungary, which began during the Iron Age.
The Goths were later replaced by Slavic populations, presumably from the forest-steppe zone of southern Belarus or northern Ukraine. This likely occurred during the Migration Era, when many Goths fled westward to escape the Huns.
These Slavs descended primarily from the more easterly PBS populations, but carried increased EEF & CHG ancestry, likely due to mixing with the Dacians/Thracians of southwestern Ukraine. The Bronze Age & Roman-era populations of Poland did not contribute substantial ancestry.
Note that the paper specifies "Slavic-period genepool"; it's entirely possible that the earliest Slavs were genetically indistinguishable from Balts.

This graph allegedly depicting "sexual market value" over time is often posted online. It's a total fabrication, not based on any data, only the wishful thinking of its creator, an aging "bachelor."
Male SMV does not peak at 36, when the average 36 year old man is fat, bald, and wrinkly, nor does Female SMV peak at 23, by which point they are already fat, tattooed, and have double digit body counts.
F SMV peaks pretty much as soon as they reach physical sexual maturity (adult-like secondary sexual characteristics).
M SMV peaks a few years later due to slower biological development and female desire for wealth/status.

Imperial Italian samples from Rome can be modeled as descending overwhelmingly from the mixed Greek-Anatolian population of Hellenistic Anatolia. I've only included non-outlier samples, representative of the average population.

I have no idea what the authors of the old Roman & Etruscan genetic studies were thinking when they modeled Imperial Italians as half Roman Republic + half Levantine.
It looks like they have no Republic-era central Italian ancestry at all - although G25 often confuses Roman Republic ancestry with Balkan or Continental Celtic ancestry, due to their genetic similarity. Any "Levantine" ancestry could also be Eastern Anatolian. It's possible that my model is terribly wrong somehow, but I doubt it.

Regarding the genetic origins of the Slavs:
I ran many tests using various samples and the best fitting model that I could create for modern Russians, Belarusians, and Ukrainians used the following sources:
- Latvia Bronze Age
- Sweden Iron Age (Goths)
- Bulgaria Iron Age (Thracians)
- Ukrainian Scythians (Russian Sarmatians gave very similar results).
- Asiatic Uralics with a mix of EHG + Siberian ancestry
In the targets, I added some Iron Age Balts and a couple of early Slavs for comparison.
In the sources, I also included Hellenistic Anatolians to represent any migrants from the Roman Empire, a south Caucasus sample, Medieval Turkic (Cuman), and Mongols (Golden Horde), but these ancestries only appeared sporadically and at noise level (<2%).
Perhaps the forthcoming genetic study will refute my model, but I think this is probably pretty accurate, since it aligns with Slavic linguistic history (e.g. Scythian loanwords) and archaeological history (e.g. Gothic neighbors).

To support my argument that the average Imperial Roman was basically a fresh-off-the-boat Hellenized Anatolian, here is a deep ancestry model comparing Imperial Romans to Greeks, Aegean Anatolians, and Central Anatolians from the Early Bronze Age to Roman periods.
I used two sets of Imperial Roman samples and both were most genetically similar to Anatolianized Greeks from the Roman period, Hellenized Anatolians, and Byzantine Anatolians (specifically from the Aegean coast).

This data is sourced from the "big kink survey" (more results here). You may think: "how on earth is this pervert survey representative?"
Obviously no online sex survey is truly nationally representative of any country, but the overwhelming majority of respondents were White Westerners.
Respondents came from a variety of sources (twitter, tiktok, reddit, etc.) and the sample is weighted to make it more representative of the US population.
It also has a colossal sample size of n=980,000, which you can heavily filter to explore results from specific subpopulations, excluding certain sample sources, races, and so on.
Respondents were mostly left-wing, hence the "very liberal white women" sample size being ten times larger than the "very conservative" sample size, but this doesn't really matter when there are still thousands and thousands of non-leftist samples.
