NBC News: The Kremlin said Monday that U.S.-Russia relations were on the brink of collapse and refused to confirm whether Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken with President Donald Trump, despite Trump saying so Sunday.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told a media conference Monday that relations with Washington “are balancing on the brink of a breakup” and reiterated that the war in Ukraine would last until Kyiv drops its ambitions to join NATO and withdraws from the four regions occupied by Russian forces.

In remarks suggesting Moscow is maintaining its tough negotiating stance, Ryabkov said that “we simply imperatively need to get ... the new U.S. administration to understand and acknowledge that without resolving the problems that are the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine, it will not be possible to reach an agreement.”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the same day that he would “neither confirm nor deny” Trump's comments to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday that he and Putin had spoken in his first officially acknowledged contact with the Russian leader since 2022.

Referring to his contact with the Russian leader, Trump told reporters, “let’s just say I’ve had it ... and I expect to have many more conversations. We have to get that war ended.”

🔥 A coalition of 17 state attorneys general have moved to investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci’s role in the Covid-19 response, demanding accountability for alleged mismanagement during the pandemic.

Led by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, the group sent a letter to Congress requesting any relevant findings from federal investigations that could aid state-level probes and potential prosecutions. The letter specifically highlighted President Joe Biden’s blanket pardon of Fauci before leaving office, a move Wilson criticized as an attempt to shield him from federal accountability.

To be clear, what the DOGE team and IS Treasury have jointly agreed makes sense is the following:

- Require that all outgoing government payments have a payment categorization code, which is necessary in order to pass financial audits. This is frequently left blank, making audits almost impossible.

- All payments must also include a rationale for the payment in the comment field, which is currently left blank. Importantly, we are not yet applying ANY judgment to this rationale, but simply requiring that SOME attempt be made to explain the payment more than NOTHING!

- The DO-NOT-PAY list of entities known to be fraudulent or people who are dead or are probable fronts for terrorist organizations or do not match Congressional appropriations must actually be implemented and not ignored. Also, it can currently take up to a year to get on this list, which is far too long. This list should be updated at least weekly, if not daily.

The above super obvious and necessary changes are being implemented by existing, long-time career government employees, not anyone from DOGE. It is ridiculous that these changes didn’t exist already!

Yesterday, I was told that there are currently over $100B/year of entitlements payments to individuals with no SSN or even a temporary ID number. If accurate, this is extremely suspicious.

When I asked if anyone at Treasury had a rough guess for what percentage of that number is unequivocal and obvious fraud, the consensus in the room was about half, so $50B/year or $1B/week!!

This is utterly insane and must be addressed immediately.

The presence of DOGE, or Department of Government Efficiency, at FEMA, has caused uncertainty and confusion, raising fears that Trump could soon follow through on his pledge to dismantle the agency, as his administration is doing with the U.S. Agency for International Development.

A whistleblower came forward last year with text messages revealing FEMA ordered relief workers to purposely skip over homes in Florida displaying Trump signs in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

The FEMA official responsible for carrying out the order, Marn’i Washington, was fired. FEMA dismissed this as an “isolated incident.”

But Washington later claimed that FEMA was lying and using her as a scapegoat. She explained the orders not only came down from the leadership but were instructed to deny aid to Trump supporters in the Carolinas.

ICYMI🤡: According to the Department of Government Efficiency, Uncle Sam had allocated a whopping $168,000 to build Fauci his own exhibit at the National Institutes of Health Museum.

But DOGE announced on Friday that the contract for the exhibit has been canceled.

That came as the Department of Health and Human Services “canceled 62 contract worth $182 million” in a mere 48 hours.

And none of that spending had anything to do with supplying medical care to the people.

“These contracts were entirely for administrative expenses – none touched any healthcare programs,” DOGE revealed.

A screenshot of the contract for the Fauci exhibit posted by DOGE said that the agreement was signed at the end of October 2024 and was to be completed by the end of July 2025, meaning that Elon Musk’s government reform project may have discovered the contract just in time to cancel it.

The contract priced in “project management,” site visits and a design consultation, “detailing and samples,” an introduction panel and a “related support structure,” and other elements of the display

The discovery of this absurd spending priority, especially for a man who deserves a tribunal rather than a tribute, by the way, is emblematic of the way our government currently operates.
