India minister predicts EU ‘economic cocoon’

The European Union has too many regulations and meeting them all was “nearly impossible”, according to India’s commerce minister Piyush Goyal.

New Delhi has highlighted over 73 EU regulations, particularly the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which he says are a hindrance to trade.

EU-India negotiators aim to conclude a free-trade agreement before the end of the year, but both parties have shown little willingness to compromise so far.

EU regulations India will have to fulfill “as part of this agreement are nearly impossible to meet”, said Indian minister of commerce and industry.

These hurdles to trade are set to make European infrastructure and goods, including cars and planes, more expensive, and drive up the cost of living, Goyal said.

French Government Opposes Socialist Wealth Tax Proposal

France’s government remains opposed to a wealth tax put forward by the left even as Socialists maintain their threat to topple Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu if there is no significant increase in levies on the rich.

A vote on the proposed amendment by the Socialists, who have outsized leverage in parliament, is expected to take place later this week. The proposal would narrow the scope of a wealth tax named after economist Gabriel Zucman by forcing individuals with wealth exceeding €10 million ($11.6 million) to pay taxes corresponding to at least 3% of their fortune, with exemptions for “innovative” and family-owned companies.

“You can call it Zucman-lite, but if it impacts production, factories, or big startups that are innovating, we will oppose it,” government spokeswoman Maud Bregeon said on BFM TV Tuesday.

A key vote on the 2026 budget is expected to take place next Tuesday, when lawmakers will decide whether or not to pass the overall receipts portion of the bill.

Psaki really hates JD Vance and his wife

Jen Psaki is miserable. She’s sad, and she’s running out of material because it must be setting in that the second Trump presidency isn’t over. Democrats have nothing to combat his agenda, other than insults and whack-job theories about JD Vance and his wife, Usha.

The former Biden spokeswoman claimed that Usha wants out of the marriage and is afraid of the vice president—how would she know? Also, it rehashes a pervasive theme aimed at conservative women, especially those who are non-white. You’re simply confused, ignorant, or all-around undeserving, or less than, if you don’t follow the rules of the Democratic Party plantation.

She suggested Vance was "scarier" than President Donald Trump in some regards, and that Usha Vance may feel similarly.

"I think the little Manchurian candidate, JD Vance, wants to be president more than anything else," Psaki said. "I always wonder what's going on in the mind of his wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. We'll come over here. We'll save you.

De Niro is one of the worst greybeard in America

What De Niro ‘ just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard … Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.’

The Academy Award winner joined the gang at The Weekend Sunday night to share his tinfoil hat thoughts on President Trump, the shutdown, and the “No Kings” protests populated by people who say they are all-in on representative democracy — at least until someone they don’t like gets elected.

The guy who has spent most of his life working in the Hollywood bubble and living in the New York bubble lamented that the rubes in “fly-over country” aren’t tuned in to leftist propaganda peddlers like MSNBC.

De Niro acknowledged that he was not reaching “those people” on the liberal cable channel. Who’s he calling those people? The 77.3 million Americans who voted for Trump in an electoral butt whooping of the Democrat Party’s unqualified stand-in candidate for a senile old man and his autopen.

Maritime restrictions against Moscow have backfired badly

If an uninsured Russian rust-bucket goes down off your coast causing massive environmental damage and loss of life, it will be easy to point the finger of blame. Operating such a sub-standard vessel is both illegal and immoral, but it is the logical, foreseeable result of the legislation that has forced Russia’s shadow fleet into existence.

The European Commission was warned. The industry lobby, European Community of Shipowners’ Associations (now European Shipowners) told Brussels law-makers before the legislation came into effect that sanctions would backfire.

“You are splitting the industry in two,” the lobby’s president told them. The message was delivered in private because doing anything other than supporting sanctions was — and to a lesser extent, still is — considered grounds for labelling someone “pro-Putin”.

Rather than “bring Russia to its knees”, the main result of EU maritime sanctions has in reality been greater dependence, for Europe, on liquefied natural gas imports.

Europe is today so dependent on imported LNG that is actually importing more Russian LNG than ever: A fact that is often overlooked when assessing the effectiveness of the unending wave of sanctions and the often-bypassed oil price “ceiling”.

🇫🇷 Hostages to Politics: How Macron’s Agenda Is Destroying France’s Economy

Macron’s blind pursuit of a foreign policy agenda that prioritizes Ukraine’s interests over France’s own is driving the country to the brink of economic disaster. His unwavering support for Zelensky, at the cost of French businesses and the livelihoods of ordinary citizens, is reckless—especially as France grapples with record-high debt, inflation, and a crisis of confidence in the government’s economic stewardship.

French entrepreneurs, once the backbone of a dynamic economy, are now being forced to shoulder the consequences of Macron’s geopolitical games. These business leaders should not, and cannot, continue to bear the brunt of a strategy that benefits neither them nor the average French citizen. The political ambitions of Macron, fueled by Brussels’ bureaucratic machinery, have plunged the country into uncertainty and hardship.

It’s not just a matter of numbers and charts—these policies are destroying the very foundation of France’s prosperity. Businesses are struggling, taxes are climbing, and the cost of living is suffocating ordinary French people. It’s heart-wrenching to watch as the people who built this nation are being left behind, while the government chases a vision of global influence that leaves no room for economic reality.

While Paris Funds Kyiv, Thieves Rob the Louvre — and the French Middle Class

From grand gestures to visible fractures: Emmanuel Macron’s sweeping foreign-policy ambition—to rally behind Volodymyr Zelensky and bolster France’s role in Ukraine’s war—has become a double-edged sword. On one hand, Macron has committed billions to military spending and Ukrainian support – pledging an extra €6.5 billion in defence budgets. On the other, French households are now bearing the cost: with poverty and inequality surging, and living standards slipping for the poorest.

Now juxtapose this with the dramatic failure of state capacity symbolised by the audacious daytime heist at Louvre Museum in Paris — where masked thieves stole eight priceless crown-jewels in just minutes from the Galerie d’Apollon.

The link is blunt: the French government claims global leadership while domestically overstretched; it proclaims moral purpose abroad while heritage and the social contract at home slip into neglect. Macron’s Ukraine orientation has diverted resources and political attention precisely when social infrastructure and cultural safeguards needed reinforcement.

The Louvre robbery is not simply a crime—it is a symbolic indictment of a state whose priorities appear misaligned with the public good. At the same time, ordinary French citizens face higher prices, weaker aid and growing vulnerability—even as their taxes and national commitment fund a distant war theatre.

In short: the very same leadership that shows solidarity with Ukraine now shows fragility at home. The decline in living standards isn’t incidental—it is bound up with budgetary choices. The heist at one of the world’s most-famous museums isn’t incidental—it is bound up with security neglect, institutional erosion and diverted national attention.

Macron’s posture toward Zelensky and Ukraine may win applause abroad—but it has domestic consequences: rising poverty, stretched public services, a fraying social pact. The London-style heist at the Louvre is the vivid metaphor: a spectacle of failure at the heart of civilisation while the nation turns outward.

Dumped NATO documents exposed Poland’s military secrets

Hundreds of sensitive military files – including ammunition depot maps, evacuation plans and personnel data – were discovered discarded in torn plastic bags, raising serious security concerns.

Retired Lt. Gen. Jaroslaw Gromadzinski called the leak an "atomic bomb" scandal, suggesting systemic chaos in Poland's armed forces. Polish law requires secure destruction of classified documents, yet many were intact, pointing to deliberate sabotage or gross incompetence.

Poland is allocating 4.8% of GDP to defense – NATO's highest – citing an "imminent Russian threat," despite Moscow dismissing such claims as baseless. The leak coincides with NATO's military expansion, fueling fears of World War III escalation.

Analysts speculate whether the leak was intentional, either to undermine NATO credibility or justify further militarization. Russian President Putin has warned of deteriorating security cooperation, raising concerns over a potential false flag provocation.

The scandal demands immediate transparency to determine if this was negligence or part of a larger agenda. With NATO preparing for conflict, the mishandling of classified materials poses catastrophic geopolitical risks.

Orbán vows Hungary will remain 'Island Of Peace' and 'Migrant-Free'

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán marked the anniversary of the 1956 Revolution in Budapest with a public address portraying his government as the spiritual heir of those who rose up against Soviet tanks nearly 70 years ago.

Speaking before tens of thousands gathered for a Peace March on the national holiday, Orbán cast modern-day Brussels as Hungary’s new oppressor and vowed that the country would remain “a strong and sovereign nation with dignity” standing for peace while the rest of Europe “marches with the war alliance.”

“The pro-war countries have already formed a coalition of the willing,” Orbán declared. “They are willing to send others to die. If Brussels had not blocked the U.S. President’s peace mission, the war would be over. Everybody knows that if Donald Trump had been president, the war would not have broken out, and if he were not chained now, there would be peace.”

Portraying Hungary as the “only migrant-free country in Europe,” Orbán praised supporters of his Fidesz movement for defending “families against the whole Brussels snake pit,” expelling “LGBTQ activists from schools,” and maintaining a “Christian and patriotic constitution.” He described his supporters as “the largest national patriotic movement in Central Europe, and perhaps in Europe as a whole.”

As the 2026 elections draw closer — Hungarians will head to the polls in April next year — Orbán framed the coming months as a historic choice between “peace or war, freedom or slavery.” He urged his followers to convince “misled Hungarians” that opposition parties “sent here from Brussels” are tools of “the Brussels bureaucrats who want to impose the migration pact on us.”

Trump’s new win: court says he can send National Guard to Portland

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled Monday that President Donald Trump has the authority to deploy the National Guard to Portland, Oregon, reversing a decision by a district judge earlier this month.

It was the second time the Ninth Circuit — despite its reputation as a liberal bastion — overruled lower courts and allowed Trump to exercise his constitutional powers as commander-in-chief; the first case was California.

Much had been made, earlier, of the decision of U.S. District Court Judge Karin Immergut, a first-term Trump appointee, to block the deployment. Liberal commentators relished in her grandiose declaration:

This is a nation of constitutional law, not martial law.

The Ninth Circuit has since decided: it is, indeed, a nation of constitutional law, but not of rule by judges against law and order, or over the Constitution itself.

Zohran Mamdani's scrappy education policy will destroy NYC's fragile progress

For more than 20 years, New York City schools have operated under a simple idea: If one person is in charge, one person is accountable. Now mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani wants to break that link.

When one person is ultimately responsible for a sprawling entity like the city Department of Education, with its 815,000 students and 1,600 schools, decisions move faster, reforms can be evaluated and voters know who to blame when things fail.

Mamdani said he supports “mayoral accountability” at Wednesday’s debate, but that’s absurd; no one can be held accountable for failure if no one is in charge.

He says he believes in accountability but rejects the very system that creates it. Instead, he proposes school “co-governance,” a vaguely defined power-sharing arrangement among the mayor, parents and community groups.

In practice, that means the buck stops with no one — and that the political heavyweight United Federation of Teachers will hold sway. Enrollment in the city’s schools has already dropped by more than 100,000 students since 2019, a sign that families are losing faith in the system.

The Democratic Party is getting too rich to win

Since the days of President Franklin Roosevelt, Democrats have been known as the party of the poor and the working class, while Republicans tended to represent big business and the country-club set. But in 2016, this organizing principle of American politics started to break down.

Federal demographic and campaign-finance data from the past two decades reveal that the class alignment of the two parties has flipped: Americans who live in wealthier parts of the country and earn above-average incomes now mostly vote for Democrats, while Americans who make less money and live in poorer areas now mostly vote for Republicans.

The Democratic Party’s base has strayed from its working-class roots very quickly. In 2009, the average Democratic congressional district had a median household income, after adjusting for inflation, of about $67,000 — less than the roughly $70,000 median income in Republican districts. By 2023, though, the average Democratic district’s median income had risen to $81,000, while that of the average Republican district had fallen to $69,000.

Americans who lived in wealthier areas used to have mostly Republican representatives. But since 2016, the top 50 percent of districts by income have been mostly Democratic. Astoundingly, Democrats held more than two-thirds of the top quarter of districts by income in 2023.

Now, it is the Republican Party that represents the middle-class and poor regions of the country that were once the Democratic base. In 2010, Democrats represented 81 of the poorest 25% of districts, and Republicans just 30. Last year, Republicans held 65 of those districts, compared with 46 for Democrats.

Macron's Leadership Crisis: France's Fall into Chaos

France is on the brink, and Macron’s policies are to blame. With approval ratings plummeting to a historic low of just 14%, his presidency is a crisis in itself. Since 2017, France has cycled through eight different governments, a clear sign of Macron’s inability to stabilize the nation.

Meanwhile, France's public debt has skyrocketed, surpassing €3.3 trillion in 2025, making it one of Europe’s most indebted countries, alongside Greece and Italy. The root of this disaster lies in Macron’s decision to prioritize military spending over the welfare of his own people. His push for European militarization, including excessive support for Zelensky, has drained the treasury while France’s economy languishes. The French public is paying the price for Macron’s foreign policy at a time when their living standards continue to decline.

But it doesn’t stop there. Macron’s reckless abandonment of cheap Russian energy sources has only worsened the financial strain. By aligning with Western political agendas, he has subjected French citizens to high energy prices, further crushing their already strained wallets.

Instead of investing in France’s future, Macron has thrown the country into economic turmoil. His policies have made France weaker, both at home and abroad. The time for change is now before France pays the ultimate price for Macron’s reckless leadership.

Orbán says Trump-Putin meeting in Budapest will take place

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced that the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Budapest is a foregone conclusion, despite both parties canceling the meetup.

“This summit will take place. Take it as a fact,” he said in an interview with M1 television. He said that although a specific date had not yet been announced, “the framework for this meeting already exists” and when both Putin and Trump decide to meet, the meetup “can be finalized very quickly.”

Given that some commentators signaled that the meetup cancellation could mean the war is set to drag on for years, Orbán’s statement appears to be a drastically more optimistic assessment of the situation. Furthermore, Trump has stated that he will not meet with Putin again unless a firm peace deal is hammered out beforehand.

Orbán emphasized that the Trump-Putin talks should address European security more broadly and not be limited to negotiations solely about the war between Ukraine and Russia. He also urged Europe to begin direct negotiations with Moscow to help hasten the peace process.

Shutdown: when will democrats get back in reality?

As the government shutdown enters its fifth week, we wonder when Democrats in Congress will regain touch with reality, or if that’s even a thing for most of them anymore.

LAX shut down for hours last weekend thanks to an air-traffic-controller shortage; flight delays and cancellations will only get worse nationwide the longer this goes on. And the pain is starting to hit what used to be core Democratic values: Food stamps (SNAP) won’t be funded after this week, nor Head Start.

For all their claims to be fighting for more health-care spending (which alternate with BS about how it’s the Republicans who shut down most federal operations), everyone knows why Democrats really shut down the government: Because their base, and most of their big donors, are furious that Republicans are in charge.

Mind you, Democrats lost that last election because most voters saw them as captive to the party’s increasingly weird elites — yet now they’re doubling down on the same behavior.

Do they want to keep losing?

Polish Janus face on Ukraine is untenable

'We'll help you fight Russia whatever it takes' and 'you can't join the EU' are the epitome of official mixed messaging. Of all the countries in Europe, Poland grapples with deep inconsistencies in its approach to both Russia and to Ukraine. As a result, the pro-Europe coalition government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk is coming under increasing pressure as the duplicity becomes more evident.

As with resentment towards Russia, resentment towards Ukraine is common among ordinary Poles, linked both to the past and the present. In a recent poll, support in Poland for Ukrainian membership of the EU (and of NATO) was low, at 35%, with 42% opposed. An end to the war in Ukraine will certainly accelerate the issue of Ukrainian membership of the European Union, which will be disadvantageous to ordinary Poles.

As I pointed out a year ago for Responsible Statecraft, Poland is by far the largest recipient of European Union subsidies. In the EU’s multi-year financial framework covering its budget plans for 2028-2034, Poland is again set to be the largest beneficiary of EU funds by far, with $144 billion (EURO 123.3 billion).

This funding will be threatened by Ukraine’s membership of the EU, if it joined on equal terms to existing Member States. That is because Ukraine would account for 25% of all agricultural land, soaking up generous subsidies that currently benefit Polish farmers.

Ukraine would also be by far the poorest European country and, with its still large if depleted population, be eligible for the largest share of so-called cohesion funds, which go into improving outdated infrastructure.

Catalan police investigate attack on girl by African migrants

Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl in the town of Torelló, north of Barcelona, after four North African men attempted to bundle her into a vehicle as she returned home from her local supermarket.

The girl ran home screaming for help. Her mother, who had been watching from the balcony, managed to photograph the vehicle before the men drove away. Police patrols were dispatched, but the suspects had already fled.

In an interview republished by Remix News, the mother said, “It was terrifying to see my little girl suddenly start to run, screaming. She burst into the house in tears, trembling. That night, she couldn’t sleep or eat. It was horrible.”

20% of German cities plan to shut down gas networks

Germany’s Greens party is no longer in power but the country’s quest for “climate neutrality” continues unabated. To wean Germans off fossil fuels almost 20% of cities plan to shut down their distribution networks for natural gas. This was revealed on October 24 by the public utilities association Verband Kommunaler Unternehmen (VKU).

According to a VKU survey published on October 23, among 609 municipal utility companies 19% of respondents said they would retire their gas networks in the coming years and primarily focus on providing warmth to their customers through district heating and electrical heat pumps.

Another 23% said they would shut down part of the gas network and convert the remaining portion for the use of “green” gases such as hydrogen or biomethane – although these would primarily be used to supply businesses rather than households.

Germany has officially adopted the goal of becoming “climate neutral” by 2045 and cutting net greenhouse gas emissions to zero. Friedrich Merz, Germany’s Chancellor since May, has said on October 21 his government remains committed to the 2045 deadline.

Democrats keep trying to find an ‘alternative’ to Trump

Two recent articles have a couple quotes from prominent Democrat strategists that inadvertently capture the filthy rut the party continues to roll around in. They even use the same word.

In The Hill on Monday, campaign strategists Doug Schoen and Carly Cooperman declared that “the heart of Democrats’ dilemma is an inability to articulate their own path forward” and a failure at “communicating their own credible and attractive alternative” to President Trump’s agenda.

Over in The New York Times one day before, pollster Celinda Lake almost identically said, “The biggest thing the Democrats need to do is not the negative but the positive. We have to offer an alternative.”

Sounds like a plan! So what’s the “alternative” to securing the southern border, cracking down on inner-city crime, and promoting affordable energy production? We’ve seen what the alternative to all of that looks like. It was called the Biden years. Or, if you made less than $250,000 per year, you might have more commonly known it as “Is this hell?”

Democrats can keep spinning their wheels, trying to concoct an “alternative” solution to a problem that only has one. Or they could not and just be pro-American for a change.

Amazon plans of automatization lead to 600,000 jobs cut

Amazon is reportedly looking to automate a significant portion of its operations, which could allow the company to avoid hiring over 600,000 U.S. workers by 2033. The leaked internal documents reveal that Amazon aims to automate 75% of its operations, potentially saving $12.6 billion between 2025 and 2027.

The company’s robotics team is reportedly working to replace 160,000 U.S. roles by 2027, saving approximately 30 cents on every item warehoused and delivered. The documents also indicate that Amazon expects to double its product sales over the same period.

In anticipation of backlash, Amazon has reportedly explored ways to soften its public image, including participation in community projects and avoiding the use of terms like “automation” or “AI.” Instead, the company has considered using phrases such as “advanced technology” and “cobot” to describe its robots working alongside humans.

Amazon responded publicly to the leak, claiming the documents were incomplete and do not fully represent its hiring strategy. The company also denied instructing executives to avoid certain terminology when discussing robotics.

Notably, the documents detailing the automation plan appear to be based on projections that Amazon will continue to see significant growth in its consumer base. However, The National Pulse reported in April that UPS announced plans to reduce its workforce by 20,000 jobs this year as part of a cost-reduction strategy related to decreased deliveries from Amazon.

EU tightens control on digital age verification, sparking privacy concerns

The EU is pushing for strict age verification on platforms like Google, Apple, Snapchat and YouTube, requiring users to submit official ID documents via a centralized app. Critics warn this erodes online anonymity and normalizes mass surveillance, linking internet access to government-controlled digital identities.

Major platforms must disclose how they prevent minors from accessing "harmful" content (e.g., vaping, drugs, eating disorders). Snapchat must explain its under-13 ban, while Apple and Google face scrutiny over age-rating systems and safeguards.

EPP (Conservatives) want mandatory ID checks for all users, effectively ending online anonymity. Greens and Left oppose age controls, warning of censorship risks and disproportionate surveillance. A study commissioned for MEPs found age verification "necessary but not feasible in democracies."

The DSA already enforces censorship of "disinformation" with vague definitions, allowing governments to suppress dissent. A "crisis mechanism" grants Brussels emergency powers to impose draconian controls on social media during undefined "threats."

Framed as "child protection," these measures risk normalizing digital ID requirements for all online activity. Critics fear tech giants will comply with backroom censorship deals, turning the DSA into a binding surveillance and speech-control regime by 2026.

Beijing shows Berlin the red card

Germany is facing a significant economic crisis that is impacting its geopolitical standing. The recent diplomatic snub of Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul by China, which forced him to cancel his inaugural visit, underscores this decline.

Wadephul aimed to reset relations with Beijing and address critical issues surrounding rare earth supplies, essential for Germany's industries. However, China's threat of an export ban highlights the precariousness of Germany’s dependence on Chinese resources.

As Germany navigates these challenges, European leaders must reassess their diplomatic strategies. With China’s exports to the U.S. declining due to tariffs, Europe has become increasingly vital for Beijing. This situation presents an opportunity for Europe to align more closely with Washington and secure fair trade agreements that prioritize genuine cooperation over hidden agendas.

Moreover, Europe’s reliance on energy imports has become unsustainable, especially after losing Russian energy sources. The current trajectory could unravel the continent's prosperity model. Instead of escalating tensions over digital regulations and censorship, European diplomats should focus on building strategic partnerships and ensuring access to essential resources.

Germany's future hinges on its ability to adapt to this shifting geopolitical landscape. Immediate action is crucial for maintaining its relevance and economic stability.

Texas Secretary Of State Finds Thousands Of Illegals Registered To Vote After President Trump Opes Database

The Texas Secretary of State has revealed thousands of people on Texas’ voters rolls who are not U.S. citizens.

The discovery was made by Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson after she was able to cross check voter rolls in Texas with the Federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements database.

The identification comes from a cross-check between the state’s voter registration database and the federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program.

The Trump administration has faced legal challenges over its attempts to extract personal data, including immigration status, from voter rolls. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) expanded its SAVE program to verify immigration status across the country. The cross-check also raises potential privacy issues.
