Three criminals have been convicted of killing a terrified man who jumped from a window in order to escape their attempts to extort cash from him. Stephen Stewart, 52, Jennifer Souter, 40, and Victoria McGowan, 43, were convicted on Friday afternoon of the culpable homicide of Ryan Munro, 36, last year.
The trio stood trial alongside the 37-year-old brother in law of former First Minister Humza Yousaf - Ramsay El Nakla. He stood accused of participating in the extortion of Mr Munro alongside Stewart, Souter and McGowan as well as drugs charges.
However, he was cleared of the allegations on December 12 after prosecutors accepted his not guilty pleas. On Friday afternoon, December 19, jurors returned guilty verdicts on the remaining trio on all charges.
David Walliams has reportedly been dropped by his publisher Harper Collins over allegations of 'inappropriate behaviour' towards women.
Mr Walliams, 54, is said to be accused of 'harassing' junior female employees at the firm.
A woman and her lover who plotted to kill her husband so they could continue their affair have both been jailed for 19 years.
Michelle Mills and Geraint Berry planned to murder Christopher Mills and make it look like suicide.
They were found guilty of conspiracy to murder after a trial at Swansea Crown Court in October.
Government data has been stolen in a hack though officials believe the risk to individuals is "low", Trade Minister Chris Bryant has said.
That data is understood to have been on systems operated on the Home Office's behalf by the Foreign Office, whose staff detected the incident.
It is understood a Chinese affiliated group is suspected of being behind the attack.
The UK government has not named who it thinks is responsible, with a spokesperson saying it has been "working to investigate" the incident.

A major UK city is set to get driverless trains next year as part of its rail modernisation project.
In 2023, new trains were launched in Glasgow as part of the full-scale upgrade to improve the city's subway after more than 30 years.
The renovations have continued and now, the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has announced Unattended Train Operation will be introduced to Glasgow.
The modernisation project is in its 'final stages,' Time Out reports, and the driverless subway trains are expected to be brought in next year.
Reports a female MSP had a secret recording device planted in her office by a member of her own staff are "completely and utterly unacceptable", SNP leader John Swinney has said.
Scottish parliament officials are investigating the alleged bugging incident by a man, which is said to have taken place in 2023 at Holyrood.
The Scotsman newspaper reported the staffer is still involved with the SNP and moved on to work with a male MP after the issue came to light.

A judge has ruled that nearly £20m is to be paid out to 16 survivors of the Manchester Arena bombing who were children at the time of the tragedy.
Twenty-two people were murdered and hundreds injured in the suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena on 22 May, 2017.
Amounts of between £2,770 and £11.4m were agreed at a hearing on Thursday at the Manchester Civil Courts of Justice for 16 youngsters, all aged under 16 at the time of the attack.
The total amount to be paid comes in at £19,928,150.
Demiesh Williams, 30, was today sentenced to five years and three months in prison over the death of Andrew Clark, who was hailed as a 'hard-working family man'.
The 43-year-old victim died from his injuries after Williams struck him with an open palm following an argument at a supermarket in Beckenham, south-east London.
Woolwich Crown Court heard Mr Clark had challenged the defendant when he tried to queue jump at the tills.
Bus driver Williams then left the store and went to a car but, as seen on CCTV, decided to go back and confront Mr Clark.
The court was told the attacker then slapped his victim with an open hand, causing him to fall to the ground.
Mr Clark died three days later of his injuries, after being declared brain dead.
Williams later pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was jailed this morning.
A firebug who caused £60,000 worth of damage after he torched his own home has dodged jail.
Anup Singh Padam, 37, set fire to the rented property in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. Emergency services raced to tackle the blaze in May 2023 but found Padam to be evasive as to the reason behind the fire.
Firefighters were met with an 'unbelievable' smell of petrol in the house as they worked to extinguish the flames through thick black smoke.
They did not believe his claims that a chip pan had caught fire and he changed his story three times.
An investigation led to Padam being arrested and charged after firefighters found the blaze had started in two areas of the kitchen and no trace of a chip pan.
Padam, of Cambuslang, denied any wrongdoing and went on trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court. A jury convicted him of wilful fire raising.
Sheriff Liam Murphy ordered him to be tagged for a year and put him under supervision for the same period.

The family of a nine-year-old girl stabbed to death have said she was a "beautiful soul" who was brave, kind-hearted and "always put a smile on people's faces".
Police were called to Lime Close in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset just before 6.10pm on Monday, where Aria Thorpe had suffered a single stab wound.

The Vatican has announced that Richard Moth will be the new Archbishop of Westminster, making him the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
He succeeds Cardinal Vincent Nichols, who has held the role since 2009 and has stepped down aged 80.
For the past 10 years Richard Moth has been Bishop of Arundel and Brighton, and before that served as Bishop to the Forces.
As Archbishop of Westminster he will become president of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales and lead an estimated six million Catholics.
A Briton who fought in Ukraine has been sentenced to 13 years in a maximum-security prison, the Russian Prosecutor-General's office has said.
Hayden Davies, a former British soldier who Russia has called a mercenary, was reportedly captured in Ukraine's Donbas region in late 2024 or early 2025 while serving with the country's foreign legion.

Four teenagers have been charged after a masked gang of football Ultras made Nazi salutes and posed with an SS flag.
An image posted online showed around 40 hoods, dressed in black clothing and face coverings, posing on the steps of Kirkcaldy Townhouse in Town Square on Saturday, December 13. Most appear to have their right arms raised, while othenrs are holding a flag bearing the SS symbol.
Police Scotland has now confirmed they have arrested and charged four 16-year-olds in total in connection with the incident. They are due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and relevant authorities.

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged "hit and run" in Birmingham which left a man dead and a woman in hospital.
Harinderpal Athwal, 41, from Oldbury, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, causing death by driving while disqualified and uninsured, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to report a road collision, West Midlands Police said.
Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle on Soho Road in the city, at the junction near Whitehall Road, shortly before 11.20am on Tuesday. The vehicle left the scene, police said.
