Solidarity from China to YPJ
Friends from China expressing their solidarity with a great Video made by Mistana. The song played in the Video in Chinese language means "war fox", composed in 2015 by YuLi to support YPJ.
YPJ is not only a force in the Rojava or Syria but is giving hope and strength to women worldwide
To all the women whose hearts beat for freedom
We, the Command of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), from the land of Rojava, Kurdistan and
North-East Syria, send you our warmest revolutionary greetings. We are not just a military force;
we are also the voice, will, and consciousness of women who defend the light against the darkness.
We are the self-defence force of freedom-loving women. In this context, we call on all the women
of the world to walk together on the path of freedom, dignity and justice.
Our struggle against ISIS and all reactionary ideologies such as religious fundamentalism,
nationalism, positivism and sexism has shown that when women become autonomous and organise
themselves, no force can stand in their way. In Kobane, Raqqa and many other places, we defended
not only our land but also the honour of all women around the world. This struggle is, at the same
time, the defence of life and human values. We have proven with our effort and resistance that self-
defence is the fundamental condition for a dignified and free life.
Dear sisters,
Today, the women's revolution is passing through severe political and military conditions. Although
many peoples and societies recognise our struggle, the dominant forces and state institutions
deliberately refuse to acknowledge our political status. These policies of denial and leaving without
official status are, at their core, a continuation of the patriarchal mindset that fears the strength of
the autonomy of women and refuses to recognise it. They seek to weaken the will of women
through blockades and destruction; But our strength does not come from their documents and
statements, but from our resistance in the streets and from the trust of women. We state clearly: we
will stand against any policy that erases the will of women, disregards our status, or seeks to
assimilate us into the dominant system. Women's freedom is not given, it is taken; and this is only
achieved through continuous struggle, organisation, and the unity of women.
The oppression of women knows no borders. Whether in the Middle East, Europe or Abya Yala, the
patriarchal system attacks women's achievements in different ways. From the murder of women to
the breaking of their will, from exploitation to their exclusion from politics, all are forms of the
same system. But in the face of this darkness, today a united voice of women is rising all over the
world: ‘Woman, Life, Freedom!’
We particularly call on all the women of the world, women's organisations, academics, artists,
environmental activists and all those who stand for freedom:
• Raise your voices against the denialist policies that target the YPJ and the values of the women's
revolution, and do not remain silent.
• Strengthen our joint struggle against violence, terror, colonialism, and all dominant systems.
• Spread the voice of the women's revolution, the philosophy of freedom, and our demand for a free
and democratic status to the whole world.
• To protect life, nature, and democratic society, stand up against ecological destruction and the
massacre of women (feminicide).
Our strength is in our unity. As long as one woman anywhere in the world is without rights and
oppressed, our freedom is not complete. True freedom is only achieved with the freedom of all
women. The time has come for all the women of the world to become one voice and to stand up for
the values that the YPJ has established.
With revolutionary greetings and respect,
The General Command of the YPJ

CALL FOR ACTION
On 26 April the Campaign "We are all YPJ! Self-defense is our natural right" was launched. Since then messages from women all over the world have reached us, expressing their support for YPJ.
There are several ways to support the campaign in order to ensure the existence of YPJ.
Take a look at:

and take action.
We are all YPJ
Somali writer and activist Leila Jama sends a message of ongoing support to the Women’s Protection Units.
We remember Zilan Kobane, from the city of Kobane. As a Kurdish woman, Comrade Zilan Kobani found her identity within the ranks of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ). She firmly believed that society cannot be free unless women are liberated. Her struggle against occupation was also a revolution against the patriarchal mindset that sought to break women’s will.
On April 20, 2026 Comrade Zilan Kobani joined the ranks of the immortal after a military incident.
We bow our head in front of her struggle and remember her with great respect.
To all voices and messages that have expressed their support and appreciation for women’s struggle against extremism:
We express our profound gratitude for every sincere word of solidarity that has accompanied our journey, and for every stance that has recognized the depth of the experience we have undergone in defending humanity, land, and dignity.
Our experience in the Women’s Protection Units has not been a conventional choice; rather, it has been a response to a harsh reality imposed by difficult circumstances, in which women found themselves compelled to stand at the heart of the defense equation, not at its margins. We have carried this responsibility to protect life and our communities’ right to exist freely and safely, in the face of forces that sought to strip human beings of their humanity and identity.
We affirm that our struggle has never been for war; rather, it has always been—and will continue to be—for the protection of life and for opening the path toward a just peace. The weapon we carried was a last resort, but our ultimate goal is to build a democratic society founded on equality and justice, in which women are full partners in decision-making. We firmly believe that all peoples, regardless of their ethnicity or culture, are equal in dignity and rights, and that diversity is not a threat but a human value that enriches societies and strengthens their unity. Without respecting and protecting this diversity, no genuine peace project can succeed.
We also stress the necessity of safeguarding freedom of belief and the dignity of religions without discrimination or exclusion. Coexistence among different religions is the foundation of social stability, and any violation of this principle constitutes an assault on all humanity. We strive for a future in which all beliefs are respected and in which individuals are treated according to their humanity, not their affiliations.
We regard every message of support as a continuation of this struggle, and we believe that the strength of women lies not only in their ability to confront challenges, but also in their capacity to rebuild society and break cycles of violence. With regard to the future of our role, we emphasize that any step toward stability must ensure recognition of our experience, preserve the achievements made possible through the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs, and guarantee the effective participation of women in all institutions of defense and decision-making, within a framework that ensures justice and safeguards the dignity of all.
We continue our struggle—not for war, but to end it; not for power in itself, but for a free and safe life for all peoples.
Glory to freedom
Glory to women
Peace to our peoples

🟡 Online Talk: with YPJ & the Women's Movement in Rojava
The focus will be on the achievements of the women’s movement in recent years—and, above all, on the question of what future the YPJ has in the current integration process in Syria. While political negotiations on the integration of the self-administration are ongoing, key advances in women’s rights are increasingly coming under pressure. What role will the YPJ play in the future? What do the current developments mean for women’s rights and self-determination in the region?

YPJ means protecting the land and its people
To protect one’s own people, one must love one’s land. With this mindset, the weapon in the hands of the YPJ becomes a means of protection, not destruction.
We are all YPJ
Within YPJ, women organise themselves autonomously. And this is not limited to the military sphere, but extends to all aspects of life. Deep friendships are build – a form of friendship that can became the basis of a free and democratic society.
We are all YPJ
Despite its significant military successes especially in the fight against ISIS and military expertise, the YPJ is not merely a military force, but a force dedicated to building a new way of life. A force paving the way for a new life in freedom, democracy and peace.
🔴 emphasising that the experience of YPJ represents a profound shift in the role of women, from being affected by conflict to taking action to redefine the concepts of protection and participation.
🔴criticising the transitional government’s refusal to recognise the role of women within defence institutions, arguing that this reflects a systematic exclusion that does not negate the fact that the presence of women in protection roles is a fundamental necessity, not a marginal option.
🔴noting that what the Women’s Protection Units have achieved is a genuine model based on awareness and organisation, which requires protection and development, not marginalisation or abolition, particularly given the risks of women’s roles being diminished during transitional phases.
🔴making it clear that support for the Women’s Protection Units would not be merely symbolic, but would translate into campaigns and platforms to advocate for their right to continue, emphasising that their presence is a cornerstone of any future that seeks justice and stability.
On the occasion of first of May, the international workers day, we as YPJ Information Center congratulate and honour all workers, men and women, who are fighting and have fought for a just system free from exploitation.
