The major problems banks are facing is that they are unable to raise deposits. Deposits that we retail make as Fixed deposits, that act as a raw material for these banks who then give these deposits as loans to businesses at higher rate of interest. The difference between interest that bank receive on loans given and interest that banks need to pay on fix ined deposit is called the NET INTEREST MARGIN of the banks which drive the profitability of the banks.

The main issue in BN is HDFC bank. For BN to retain back it's leadership position, either HDFC BANK has to perform or the combined might of ICICI, SBI and Axis has to match its underperformance. Maybe some.review regarding its weightage on BN needs to be done.
Such a high weightage stock and no returns since 2021.

Analysing all major banks earning, there is pressure on Net Interest margins and going forward next year the NPA in personal loan portfolio of major banks are going to dent their NIMs futher. Fed Chairman is non comittal regarding the timing of rate cuts and in this scenario we can't expect RBI to take a dovish stance in the upcoming Monetary Policy on 8th Feb 2024

Although we entered very tiny qty in Sensex puts again which we covered in losses. Premiums behaviour was so crazy that qty took away 70% gains. But happy to be still in green on such horrific day ☺️
