Got many DM’s on market view till election. Max 22800 and if weekly close above that then 23400. Probability low. If you are riding profits since 12000/15500/18600/19800 then better to let go of this last leg rally and book profits and enter slowly after elections. Market will give ample opportunity after elections.

From previous election to this election Nifty has risen from 12000 to 22800 level., a move of 10800 points or 90%. On 4th June we have election results. We will witness huge huge volatility during this event. In this situation risk management becomes utmost importance.

Those investors who have not yet booked profits can hedge / protect their cash market portfolio by way hedging. Hedging can be done by selling June month futures whose contract value covers their cash market portfolio. Alternatively, investors can hedge by purchasing June weekly series Nifty / Bank Nifty put options.

The benefits of hedging will
be, if the market falls due to adverse results, the gain in futures sellpositions will
off set the loss in cash market portfolio. Alternatively, if the market rises to new highs, one can square off the hedge positions in F&O at loss which will be offset by gain in cash market portfolio. Offcourse, the offsetting gain or loss will not be exactly equal but it will more or less protect you your portfolio from the wild swings which will be experienced during the election results.

Today's gap up in BN was a trap. We did not go long because of US 10Y still at 4.66 too high. Secondly, HDFC Bank results mixed. Friday it already was up so no reason to go up more.

200 Ema coming soon. Had warned on April 14 that due to war and elections results uncertainty better to book profits and stay on sidelines.

Charts turned extremely bearish on break of 22080 yesterday. Retail should avoid buy on dip. Better to avoid trading today and carrying any position for Monday. Capital protection should be the top priority.

Many people are asking me in dm that why I stopped sharing my view here on free telegram channel.

Reasons are-

Earlier we used to trade positional and mostly use to follow the same view for 2-3 days until the trend was intact .

Now we trade every day expiries. other than forming view , execution like entries and profit booking is also important in expiry trading.

Many times we might book longs at high and go short or vice versa.

Many times first half our view may go wrong and we book losses but in second half we change view and can cover the loss and come in green.

Many times first half our view may go right and book gains but then loose all the gains and close the day in red due to against movements in markets.

We are flexible and keep changing positions as per market. Updating it time to time here on free telegram channel without a delay is a big task for me.

And if I forget to update the ‘change in view’ on time then it can be an issue.

Although I can share my positional views from now and will try to share some option buying trade as well

Last two weeks saw many traders vent their anger against daily expiries. My view is that daily expiries are here to stay for a long time as they are source of high revenue for the exchanges(NSE and BSE) and also govt(STT,GST, stamp duty). Also daily expiries as a concept is being implemented in the US since long time. So there is no point of cursing daily expiries for one's losses.


In trading or in any other field, you have to be ready to accept change. The key question here is how you as a trader adapt yourself to this change. If we keep on complaining that there was linear decay in a trending market since 2020 and now in 2024 why these spikes and SL hunting, then you are not mentally accepting the change that has already occurred. In that case, better to leave option selling and try your hands on something else because daily expiries are here to stay for a long time. Conversely, if you accept that daily expiries are here to stay and develop a system whereby you target lesser ROI or more robust risk management then there is a chance atleast you can survive in this field.

Have been observing daily expiries since it's start last year and have to say that things are going to get tougher from here on. It will be survival of traders who are ready to accept this change and those who fine-tune their strategies to beat the deep pocket guys who are out to flush the retail out of this option selling business.
