And you should know that Allaah has favoured some of the servants over others in this world and in the Hereafter, He has done so justly. It cannot be said that He acted unjustly or has shown undue favour. Whoever says that Allaah has favoured the true believer and the disbeliever equally then he is a person upon innovation. Rather, Allaah has favoured the believer over the disbeliever, the obedient one over the sinner and the one He has rendered secure from error over the one who is humiliated; doing so justly. It is His favour, which He bestows upon whomever He wishes and withholds from whomever He wishes.

عـن أوس بـن أوس الثقفي يقول : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ غَسَّلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاغْتَسَلَ، ثُمَّ بَكَّرَ وَابْتَكَرَ، وَمَشَى وَلَمْ يَرْكَبْ، وَدَنَا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ فَاسْتَمَعَ وَلَمْ يَلْغُ كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ عَمَلُ سَنَةٍ أَجْرُ صِيَامِهَا وَقِيَامِهَا»
From Aws bin Aws ath-Thaqafi who said I heard the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam saying:
'Whoever performs a perfect Ghusl on Friday then goes very early to the Khutbah, walking and not riding, sits close to the Imam, listens and does not speak or keep himself busy then for every step towards the Khutbah is the reward equivalent to *a year of fasting and praying.'*

Al-Mulla Ali al-Qari -Rahimahullaah- said:
'The people of knowledge say: 'We do not know of a hadeeth of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- which has more reward than this hadeeth.'

The Five Conditions are:
1 - Performing a Ghusl
2 - Going early to the Masjid
3 - Walking to the Masjid
4 - Sitting close to the Khateeb
5 - listening to the Khateeb and remaining silent

And if you hear a man speaking against the narrations and not accepting them or denying anything from the narrations of Allaah’s Messenger sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam, then doubt his Islaam since he is a person having a despicable opinion and saying. No attack may be made upon Allaah’s Messenger sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam nor upon his companions since we have only come to know of Allaah and His Messenger and the Qur’aan and what is good and what is bad in this world and the Hereafter by way of the narrations. So, the Qur’aan needs the Sunnah more than the Sunnah needs the Qur’aan.

Sharh as-Sunnah : Lesson 48: Point 78

And know that there are three forms of address for the tidings that are given when one dies.
It may be said, “Receive good tidings O beloved one of Allaah, of Allaah’s pleasure and of Paradise” or
it may be said, “Receive good tidings O servant of Allaah of Paradise on account of Islaam” or
it may be said, “Receive tidings O enemy of Allaah, of Allaah’s anger and of the Fire.”
This was the saying of Ibn Abbaas radiyAllaahu `anhumaa.

And to have eemaan (true faith) that Allaah’s Messenger sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam was taken by night up through the heavens and he came to the Throne and he spoke to Allaah, the Exalted and Most High. And he entered Paradise and he saw the Fire and he saw the angels and he heard the speech of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic and the Prophets were brought out for him. And he saw the drapery of the Throne and the Footstool and everything within the heavens and everything within the earths whilst awake. Jibreel took him upon al-Buraaq until he took him through the heavens and the five daily prayers were made obligatory upon him that night. And he returned to Makkah that same night and that was before the Hijrah (migration).

Question:
What is the ruling on buying and selling cryptocurrencies that have recently appeared e.g. Bitcoin?
Shaykh Sulaymān Salīmullāh ar-Ruḥāylī حفظه الله
Cryptocurrency is a currency that belongs to individuals. It is created by individuals and so is not subject to any government regulation. It has no value in and of its self and thus is not based upon anything. It has no economic strength that gives it value nor an origin of some sort that it returns to e.g. gold, silver or the likes which would then give it value. Rather, its value is based on the fluctuation of the market.
There is no governing body overseeing it or a country that ensures the circulation of it as a currency. Meaning, it is possible that the owner may shut down the website and that would be the end of it. So as long as its affair is as we have mentioned, it is not permissible to use it. It has no value such that it can be bought or sold tangibly and there is no guarantee. Therefore, investing money in it is a waste of wealth. It is like a bubble, you become amazed by it the more it grows, but it may burst at any time, and of a surety it will burst.
Due to this, I see – and Allāh ﷻ knows best – that it is not permissible to trade with it. Yes, its thriving right now and its value has reached thousands of dollars after having no value. However, reality is the determining factor, and upon us is to rule with its impermissibility so long as its affair is as mentioned.

Al-Qadr (Pre-decree) is Allaah’s secret. Don’t Argue or Dispute about it
Sharh as-Sunnah : Lesson 43 : Point 67

Imaam Barbahaaree rahimahullaah said:
And speech and argumentation and disputing about al-Qadr (pre-decree) in particular are forbidden with all of the sects because pre-decree (al-Qadr) is Allaah’s secret.
And the Lord, the Majestic, the Most High,[1] He forbade the prophets from speech concerning pre-decree and the Prophet sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam forbade argumentation about pre-decree and it was detested by the companions of Allaah’s Messenger sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam and by the taabi`een and it was detested by the scholars and by the people of piety and they forbade argumentation concerning pre-decree (al-Qadr).
So upon you is to submit, to affirm, to have eemaan in and to hold as your belief whatever Allaah’s Messenger sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam said about all matters and to be silent about other than that.
