Excuses Don’t Get Results
You can have results, or you can have excuses.
But you can’t have both. Pick one.
If a traveler starts fasting in one place but travels to another where the moon is sighted earlier, what should they do?
If a traveler moves to a place where the moon has been sighted earlier, they should follow that new current location’s moon sighting. However, if this results in them fasting fewer than 29 days, they must make up an extra fast after Ramadan to complete the minimum number of fasting days.
Speaking ill of others in their absence is a betrayal of trust and weakness in your Islam.

What should a someone with a chronic illness do in Ramadan if they cannot fast?
A person with a chronic illness that prevents fasting must feed a poor person for each missed day instead of fasting. This refers to someone who has little chance of recovery and they're likely to have this illness for the rest of their life. If, however, it is a temporary illness then they should make up the fasts when the illness has ended and they're able to inshaAllah.

Do THIS before Ramadan starts

We all have sins.
Don’t expect that you’ll be able to suddenly give up everything bad on the first day of Ramadan.
Sometimes we can and sometimes we can’t.
That’s why we should try to give up as many sins as possible before Ramadan so that we can start Ramadan with a clean slate and then build upon that with a lot of good deeds.
Does the presence of the moon without sighting it count for beginning the fast for Ramadan?
No, the stronger view of the scholars is that the moon must be physically sighted for fasting to begin. The Prophet sw said: “When you see the crescent moon fast, and when you see the crescent moon break the fast.” [Muslim]
And he sw said: “Fast by its sighting and stop fasting by its sighting and if it is hidden from you, then complete the number of Sha’ban as thirty.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
Don’t wait for Ramadan.
Start your repentance now.
None of us has a contract with Allah that guarantees that we’ll live until Ramadan.
Start repenting now, remove all of the extra baggage to ensure the boat doesn't sink before reaching Ramadan.
Why let their opinions control you? Allah knows the truth

Ramadan may be the very reason you are saved from the hellfire and admitted into paradise. Picture yourself, trembling in fear, standing on the Day of Judgement, fearing for yourself.
At that very point, nothing else is on your mind except saving yourself from the hellfire; and so the rewards of your fasting are brought forth.
How many more Ramadans will we let go to waste before waking up and taking action? Are we guaranteed to make it to the next Ramadan?
Through fasting, prayer, and acts of charity, we strengthen our connection with Allah, seeking His Mercy and Forgiveness while reflecting on our actions and intentions, and that may be the very thing which saves us from the hellfire.

If the moon for Ramadan is sighted in another country, does that obligate everyone else to fast?
The scholars have differed. Some say that if the moon is seen anywhere in the world, then all Muslims must fast. Others say that each region should follow its own local sighting. The stronger view is that each area should follow its own local sighting, based on the hadith where Ibn Abbas did not accept the sighting from another region and said: "This is what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to do."
(Sahih Muslim 1087)
The door to Ramadan is about to open. How are you preparing your heart today?
As Sha'ban comes to a close, the anticipation of Ramadan fills the air.
This is a time for final preparations for the blessed month. Reflect on the past month and year, seek forgiveness, and prepare your heart to welcome the transformative power of Ramadan. Ask Allah to grant you strength, sincerity, and the ability to make the most of this amazing month. The gates of Paradise will be opening, and the gates of Hell will be shut, so let us make the most of this blessed month to please our Creator, in the hopes of being from those who enter the Paradise he has prepared for us.

Time’s running out, Make them up before Ramadan
/channel/AbuAbdissalamOfficial
Start getting into the habit of reciting the Quran,
Preferably with a translation if you don’t know Arabic so that you can go full steam ahead once Ramadan begins.
Don’t wait till Ramadan to warm up the engine. It takes time to build habits. Start now!
Try to make up your outstanding obligatory fasts before Ramadan begins.
Abu Salamah said: I heard A'ishah RadiAllahu 'anha would say:
“I would owe fasts from the previous Ramadan and I would not be able to make them up except in Sha’ban (which is the month before Ramadan)”.
[Bukhari (1950) and Muslim (1146)]
This hadith shows that A'ishah RadiAllahu 'anha would make up her missed fasts from the last Ramadan before the next Ramadan begins.

What do we do in a non-Muslim country where we don’t have a ruler deciding the start of Ramadan?
In non-Muslim countries, Muslims should ideally have a local authoritative body that determines the moon sighting. If there is no single authority, then they should follow the majority decision in their city or town or country for the sake of unity, even if they personally believe another view is stronger. The Prophet ﷺ said: "The fast is the day you all fast, and the breaking of the fast is the day you all break the fast." And there are many examples of the early Muslim scholars giving up their own ijtihadi opinion for the sake of unity.
