Well majority of students typical ask me about free courses on Financial modelling
Let me give you a few sources I used to practice financial modelling
1. F1F9 must have been the best source to learn from - the courses are expensive but still you can benefit from Free-courses on offer - they provided bunch of PDF books, best practices and working excel files
2. CFI that is from where I started. They have all types of models and their models are easy to digest - they usually offer huge discounts - follow periodically to buy their course at the real deal - $150 - $200
3. Gridlines these guys know their trade. Their courses are mainly for professionals and really expensive. But for you (if you are a student) they offer free demonstrative course - 20 - 25hrs - it is a nice 1st step - give it a try - link in here
If you are new in this financial modelling thing, what i suggest is simple: do not google or youtube free financial modelling courses
There are hell a lot of free resources that you easily get lost - like I did in 2021
Start with Gridlines, then CFI, then F1F9 - and please do not expect to be master of modelling (I am about FINANCIAL modelling😅)
These courses teach you very high level intro to modelling, in practice it really gets complicated
My learning method in modelling was as such:
I initially take the ready model, and blindly shadow it in new excel. Then I repeat it 2-3 times, until I get the model collected without using the ready-made version
It is the dummiest, but the best way)
PS: I am not financial modelling specialist to be honest, I am more focused on financial analysis. But for the sake of professional development I passively do 3-statement modelling. Recommend to do the same!
