It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Jeff Winston, the founder and director of the White Art Collective. I had the pleasure of working with Jeff on a number of occasions and was always happy to promote his work and the work of the White Art Collective. Sadly, I cannot say I knew Jeff well, however when we spoke – both on and off camera – he was always very easy to get on with, full of energy and was extremely passionate about helping others within our community to express themselves through art.
What stands out about Jeff was not just his own work, but the fact that he helped to elevate and motivate other White artists, giving those around him a platform where they could promote their work to a wider audience. As such, Jeff’s lasting contribution to this movement can be seen all around us – not just in his own artistic endeavours, but also in the artwork and creativity that he helped to foster and promote. In this way, Jeff’s work continues to live on through those who are part of the White Art Community and who will go on producing inspiring work. As such, Jeff’s star will continue to burn brightly even after his passing.
Jeff has not only left behind the community that loved him so much, but also his family - a wife and daughter. My thoughts at this time are with Hiraeth. I hope that she remembers all the joy that Jeff brought to so many people, and in time I hope that Jeff’s daughter will be able to get to know her father through the large body of work that he has left behind, which I am sure will continue to inspire those within our worldwide movement for decades to come.

There are no words to describe the loss that I feel for myself, our 3 month old daughter, and Jeff’s family. He was the love of my life, my best friend, and an incredible father. He inspired me artistically, and showed me what it really means to love and to be loved unconditionally. He was truly one of the good ones.

Gila Gamliel, the Minister of Intelligence of Israel, has written a piece in the Jerusalem post arguing for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
Gamliel dismissed the suggestion that the Palestinian authority could govern Gaza, instead calling on the International Community to resettle the 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza:
“Some world leaders are already discussing a worldwide refugee resettlement scheme and saying they would welcome Gazans to their countries...This could be supported by many nations around the world, especially those that claim to be friends of the Palestinians.”
This comes after two Israeli government members, including the former head of Mossad, wrote an op-ed last week urging the West to resettle the people of Gaza as refugees.
