⚠️ Burger King deploys AI “Patty” to coach employees in real time
According to The Verge, Burger King is piloting an AI assistant called Patty, an OpenAI-powered tool embedded directly into employee headsets.
It’s part of the broader “BK Assistant” platform rolling out across U.S. locations.
What Patty actually does:
• Helps staff with menu prep instructions
• Flags inventory shortages & equipment issues
• Syncs with cloud POS systems
• Listens for service phrases like “please,” “welcome,” and “thank you”
The system is powered by models from OpenAI and is currently being tested in 500 restaurants.
Burger King says it’s a coaching tool, not a punishment system.
The bigger shift? AI isn’t replacing workers here, it’s supervising them.

🇩🇪 In Germany, prototypes of bioelectronic insects for military purposes were unveiled
The company SWARM Biotactics has developed a technology that combines living insects with neural interfaces, AI, and sensors, turning them into autonomous reconnaissance platforms.
The project has progressed from concept to application within a year, with field tests already completed.
The advantage of such systems over drones is their high mobility, low noise levels, and ability to access hard-to-reach places.

❗️Anthropic drops flagship safety pledge!
Reality is now hitting Anthropic hard too. Anthropic has scrapped its 2023 pledge to halt AI training unless safety protections were guaranteed in advance, marking a major shift in its Responsible Scaling Policy.
Executives say fierce competition, a lack of global regulation, and murky risk science made the original “red line” approach unrealistic, especially as the company’s valuation surged to $380 billion and revenue grew 10x annually.
Anthropic will now publish Frontier Safety Roadmaps and Risk Reports every 3–6 months, promising transparency and safety parity (or better) versus rivals.

Bill Gates wasn’t excited about this investment, and warned Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella:
“You’re going to burn this billion dollars.”
Fast forward, and OpenAI is valued at $830B and is projected to IPO at a $1T+ valuation.

🗣Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark says AI could write 99% of code by the end of the year
This drastically reduces the need for junior roles, while senior engineers with taste and calibration become more valuable. With AI handling the basics, "I see some issues for the future economy".

⚡️Nvidia just revealed Vera Rubin.
Ships H2 2026 and the numbers are wild:
→ 10x more performance per watt vs Blackwell
→ 10x cheaper inference token cost
→ 4x fewer GPUs to train the same MoE model
Energy was the biggest bottleneck in AI. Nvidia just made it 10x cheaper.

❗️Dario Amodei just published one of the most significant statements in AI history and is officially not backing down from The Pentagon.
Anthropic won't build tools for mass surveillance of U.S. citizens or autonomous weapons without human oversight.
The Department of War threatened to boot them from military systems, brand them a "supply chain risk," and force compliance through the Defense Production Act.
Dario: "These threats do not change our position."

🗣Peter Thiel just told Silicon Valley it’s automating away its own cognitive moat.
Nobody there is paying attention.
Thiel: “It is striking to me how bad Silicon Valley is at talking about these sorts of things.”
The industry is either arguing over 20% improvements in the next transformer model or jumping straight to simulation theory. They’re missing the massive real-world shift happening right in the middle.
Thiel: “My intuition would be it’s going to be quite the opposite, where it seems much worse for the math people than the word people.”
For decades, Silicon Valley worshipped quantitative intelligence. Math and coding were the ultimate safety nets.
Thiel: “Within three to five years, the AI models will be able to solve all the US Math Olympiad problems.”
Once a machine instantly solves the hardest math problems on earth, the economic value of being a human calculator doesn’t just decline.
It disappears. And the historical irony is brutal.
The societal bias toward math over verbal ability started during the French Revolution. Not because math was more valuable. Because verbal ability ran in aristocratic families, and math was elevated as the great equalizer to break nepotism. A 200-year-old political accident became the foundation of Silicon Valley’s entire hiring philosophy.
AI is about to snap it back. The people who built the models that can now outperform them mathematically spent their careers optimizing for the wrong skill. The future belongs to the word people. The engineers didn’t see it coming because they were too busy calculating.

❗️We just saw the first major layoff directly because of AI.
Twitter founder Jack Dorsey laid off 4,000 people, 40% of the company’s headcount to go all in on AI and agentic workflows.
After the announcement, Block stock $XYZ surged 23% in 60 minutes, adding nearly $6 billion to its market cap.
Jack said what every CEO knows but won’t admit: “AI paired with smaller teams is enabling a new way of working. And that’s accelerating rapidly.”
The new math after AI is brutal: 100 people + AI = 1,000 people

🍌 Google’s Nano Banana 2 makes pro-level image creation instant
Google has unveiled Nano Banana 2, its most advanced image generation and editing model to date now rolling out across the Gemini app, Search, and developer creativity tools.
This isn’t just an upgrade. It’s Google compressing studio-grade visuals into “Flash-speed” generation.
What’s new under the hood
• Pro-level quality, instantly: richer textures, sharper details, more realistic lighting
• Advanced world knowledge: better contextual understanding of scenes
• Precision text rendering & translation: cleaner typography inside images
• 512px → 4K upscaling: generate small, scale massive
• Aspect ratio control: cinematic, social, or print-ready
• Subject consistency: maintain up to 5 characters & 14 objects across edits
The subject-consistency feature is especially notable, one of the hardest challenges in image generation.
Nano Banana 2 signals Google’s strategy clearly: AI-native creativity at internet scale.
