"It is benefiting for man to seek assistance with ALLĀH in every matter, even small matters like, leaving to and from a place, eating, drinking and wearing ones clothes. So that with this, he can fulfil his need and worship his Lord. Seeking assistance is from the acts of worship and if the slave seeks assistance from his Lord, HE will facilitate the matter for him and make it easy."

ETIQUETTE OF DEALING WITH DREAMS

Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported:

I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "When one of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from ALLĀH he should praise ALLĀH for it and relate it to (others).''

Another narration adds: Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, "He should not report it except to those whom he loves. And if he sees one which he dislikes, then it is from the Satan. He should seek refuge in ALLĀH against its evil and should not mention it to anyone. Then it will not harm him.'' {Al-Bukhari and Muslim}

📖 Riyādhus-Saliḥīn: Book 5, Chapter 130, Hadith 841

Hafiz Salahudeen Yusuf said: "These are clear instructions from Messenger of ALLĀH about both good and bad dreams. A good dream means a good news sent by ALLĀH to a person who has seen it. It should be related only to those who are close to his heart and not to such people who may start nourishing malice against him like the brothers of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph). A bad dream should be attributed to Satan and not be described to others because it often causes one to be pessimistic and it may be taken as a bad omen, which is not allowed in Islam. Rather, a man should seek ALLĀH'S Refuge against its evil. And if he puts faith in ALLĀH, no harm will come to him." {Sharḥ Riyādhus-Saliḥīn}

GUIDANCE FROM THE HADITHS:

1⃣. A bad dream, in which a person sees unpleasant and disturbing things, comes from Satan. A good dream, on the other hand, is glad tidings to the believer, and it comes from ALLĀH Almighty.

2⃣ . A bad dream does not harm a person if he does certain things: spitting dryly three times to his left side, seeking refuge with ALLĀH three times from the evil of Satan and the evil of what he has seen in the dream, and turning to the other side. Moreover, if he feels active, he can get up, perform ablution, and pray. He should not relate the dream to anyone or try to interpret it. Whoever does these things will not be harmed by such dreams, ALLĀH Willing.

Shaykh Ibn Bāz (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said,

"Certainly, celebrating the fifteenth night of Sha'bān by performing supererogatory prayers or other acts of worship, and singling out its day with fast is a despicable innovation, as viewed by the majority of the people of knowledge.

There is no basis for it in the pure Shari'ah, rather, it is from that which arose in Islaam after the era of the Companions (may ALLĀH be pleased with them)."

📖 Hukm al-Ihtifal bi Laylat al-Nisf min Sha’bān

He (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) also said:

"There is no sahih hadith concerning the night of the fifteenth of Sha'ban (Laylat al-Nisf min Sha’ban). All the ahadith that have been narrated concerning that are mawdu’ (fabricated) and da’if (weak), and have no basis. There is nothing special about this night, and no recitation of Quran or prayer, whether alone or in congregation, is specified for this night. What some of the scholars have said about it being special is a weak opinion. It is not permissible to single it out for any special actions. This is the correct view. And ALLĀH is the Source of strength."

VIRTUE OF SINCERE REPENTANCE

ALLĀH says,

And those who do not invoke with ALLĀH another deity or kill the soul which ALLĀH has forbidden, except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse - and whoever does this shall receive the punishment.

The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;

Except those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds;

means, those who do these evil deeds will be punished in the manner described,

Except those who repent,

that is; those who repent in this world to ALLĀH from all of those deeds, for then ALLĀH will accept their repentance. This is evidence that the repentance of the murderer is acceptable, and there is no contradiction between this and the Ayah in Surah An-Nisa':

وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُوْمِناً مُّتَعَمِّداً
And whoever kills a believer intentionally,
(4:93)

because even though this was revealed in Al-Madinah, the meaning is general, and it could be interpreted to refer to one who does not repent, because this Ayah states that forgiveness is only for those who repent.

Moreover ALLĀH says:

Verily, ALLĀH forgives not that partners should be set up with Him, but He forgives except that to whom He wills.
(4:48)

And in the authentic Sunnah, it is reported from the Messenger of ALLĀH that the repentance of a murderer is acceptable, as was stated in the story of the person who killed one hundred men and then repented, and ALLĀH accepted his repentance, and other Hadiths.

for those, ALLĀH will change their sins into good deeds, and ALLĀH is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Dharr, may ALLĀH be pleased with him, said, "The Messenger of ALLĀH said: "I know the last person who will be brought forth from Hell, and the last person who will enter Paradise. A man will be brought and it will be said,

"Take away his major sins and ask him about his minor sins."

So it will be said to him: "On such and such a day, you did such and such, and on such and such a day, you did such and such."

He will say, "Yes, and he will not be able to deny anything."

Then it will be said to him: "For every evil deed you now have one good merit."

He will say:"O Lord, I did things that I do not see here."

He (Abu Dharr) said:

"And the Messenger of ALLĀH smiled so broadly that his molars could be seen."

Muslim recorded it.

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Abu Jabir heard Makhul say,

"A very old man with sunken eyes came and said, 'O Messenger of ALLĀH, a man betrayed others and did immoral deeds, and there was no evil deed which he did not do. If (his sins) were to be distributed among the whole of mankind, they would all be doomed. Is there any repentance for him?"

The Messenger of ALLĀH said: "Have you become Muslim?"

He said, "As for me, I bear witness that there is no God but ALLĀH Alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is HIS servant and Messenger."

The Prophet said: "ALLĀH will forgive you for whatever you have done like that, and will replace your evil deeds with good merits."

The man said: "O Messenger of ALLĀH, even my betrayals and immoral actions?"

The Prophet said: "Even your betrayals and immoral actions."

"The man went away saying 'Lā ilaha illallāh' and 'Allāhu Akbar."'

ALLĀH tells us how HIS mercy extends to all His creatures, and that whoever among them repents to HIM, HE will accept his repentance for any sin, great or small.

BENEFIT 08: REGARDING RITUAL BATH ON FRIDAY

If someone experiences janabah on Friday, one ghusl is sufficient:

If a person becomes junub on Friday, one ghusl suffices for both janabah and the Friday ghusl if both are intended. This is the opinion of the majority of scholars. They said: We found that one wudu and one tayammum are sufficient for all impurities that invalidate wudu’, and one ghusl suffices for multiple instances of janabah, one ghusl suffices for days of menstruation, and one tawaf suffices for both 'umrah and Ḥajj in qiran. Therefore, the same applies to everything that necessitates ghusl.

Ibn Hazm disagreed and held that multiple ghusls are required for multiple causes, and he elaborated extensively in his critique of the majority opinion. Those interested should refer to his detailed discussion. (1)

THE PROHIBITION OF SWEARING TO ABANDON A GOOD DEED

ALLĀH commands,

And make not ALLĀH's ˹Name˺ an excuse in your oaths against your doing good, and fearing ALLĀH and making peace among people. And ALLĀH is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

The purpose of oaths and vows is to show veneration of that by which you swear and to confirm the action for which you swore the oath. ALLĀH has commanded us to guard our oaths, which implies fulfilling them in all cases. But HE made an exception from that, if fulfilling the oath implies not doing something that is dearer to HIM. HE has forbidden HIS slaves to make their oath a hindrance, that is to let the oath be an obstacle that prevents them from doing righteous deeds, doing good, guarding against evil or making peace between people.

The one who swears not to do something that is obligatory must break his oath, and it is haram for him to fulfil his oath. The one who swears not to do something that is mustahabb (recommended) is encouraged to break his oath. The one who swears to do something that is haram is obliged to break his oath; if he swears to do something makrooh (disliked), it is recommended for him to break his oath. With regard to permissible matters, he should guard his oath and not break it.

This verse points to the famous principle that when choosing between many options that may serve many purposes, the most important should be given precedence. In this case, fulfilling the oath serves a purpose, but obeying the commands of ALLĀH with regard to these matters serves a greater purpose, therefore it should take precedence.

{Tafsi‌r As-Sa'di}

Abu Huraira reported ALLAH's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: "He who took an oath and (later on) found another thing better than that, he should do that which is better, and expiate for the vow (broken by him)." {Muslim #1650}

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "By ALLĀH, if anyone of you insists on fulfilling an oath by which he may harm his family, he commits a greater sin in ALLĀH's sight than that of dissolving his oath and making expiation for it." {Al-Bukhārī #6625}

Ibn Abbas (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: While the Prophet (ﷺ) was giving a sermon, he saw a man standing and he asked about him. They said, "It is Abu Israel, who has vowed that he will stand and never sit down, he will never come into the shade, nor will he speak to anyone, and he will be fasting." The Prophet said, "Tell him to speak, come into the shade, and sit down, but let him complete his fast." {Al-Bukhārī #6326}

VIRTUES OF VOLUNTARY DEEDS

ALLĀH says: "And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, ALLĀH is All-Recogniser, All-Knower." {Al-Baqarah || Verse 158}

"But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him." {Al-Baqarah || Verse 184}

Abu Hurayrah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, ALLĀH says: "My servant draws not near to ME with anything more loved by ME than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and MY servant keeps on coming closer to ME through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him." {Al-Bukhārī #6502}

Abu Hurayrah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said, 'I heard ALLĀH's Messenger (ﷺ) say: "The first of his deeds for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayer. If it is sound then he will have succeeded but if it is not sound then he will be lost and doomed. If anything is lacking from his obligatory prayers, the Lord will say: 'Look and see whether MY slave has any voluntary (prayers),' and the shortfall from his obligatory prayers will be made up from that. Then all his deeds will be dealt with in like manner." {Al-Tirmidhi #413}

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever prays twelve ˹voluntary˺ rak’ahs each day and night, a house will be built for him in Paradise because of them.” {Muslim #728}

Shaykh Abdur-Rahman As-Sa'di (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "This indicates that the more a person does of acts of obedience, the more he increases in goodness, spiritual development, and status before ALLĀH, because of the increase in his faith" {Taysir al-Karīm ar-Rahman}

NO WOMAN IS FAULTLESS, SO BE CONTENT WITH WHAT ALLĀH HAS GIVEN YOU

Women are the strongest in having physical desires. A man might see a woman fully clothed but still think she is prettier than his own wife.

He only thinks about the good parts of a woman, but after he gets married to her, or takes her as a concubine, he continues to ponder upon her faults. He never used to think about those faults in the past, so afterwards becomes bored with this woman, and seeks something different.

Little does he realise that getting a second wife might entail many hardships such as the second wife lacking religion, sound intellect, good management, or love. So he misses out on more things than what he gains.

This is why fornicators commit this crime. They interact with a woman while all of her faults are hidden, and all of her beauties are apparent. They enjoy her for that moment, then move on to another one. So a wise man must realise that he can never get everything that he aims for:

“You would not accept it save if you close your eyes and tolerate therein.” {al-Baqarah: 267}

In fact, the women of this world were not condemned by anything more than the verse:

“They will have pure women therein (Paradise).” {al-Baqarah: 25}

A proud person stays away from the sight of dirt, and the idea of bad manners.

So he must be content with what resides inside in terms of religious values, and adequate from the outside—this way he will live with inner contentment and a sound heart.

Seeking more will cause his heart to become further occupied, and his religiosity less powerful.

OUR PROPHET WILL BE A WITNESS AGAINST, OR FOR HIS UMMAH ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION

ALLĀH says;

How (will it be) then, when WE bring from each nation a witness and WE bring you (O Muhammad ﷺ) as a witness against these people?

That is, how will it be, how will the great judgement be, when the judgement in which the One Who will judge has perfect knowledge, perfect justice and perfect wisdom is combined with the testimony of the best of humankind, namely the Messengers who will testify against their nations, along with the confession of those against whom judgement is passed? This, by ALLĀH, is the most comprehensive judgement, the most just and the greatest.

Then those against whom judgement will be passed will confirm the perfect grace and justice of ALLĀH, and will utter words of praise. At that point, some people will be blessed with triumph, success and honour, and others will be doomed to disgrace, shame and the humiliating punishment.

Hence ALLĀH says:

"On that day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger"
that is, those who combine disbelief in ALLĀH and HIS Messenger with disobedience towards the Messenger

"will wish that the earth could be levelled over them"
that is, that it would swallow them and they would become dust and become nothing.

{Tafsi‌r As-Sa'di}

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, “By the One in whose hand is my soul, you will all surely enter Paradise except one who refuses and wanders away from ALLĀH like a stray camel.” It was said, “Who would refuse to enter Paradise?” The Prophet said, “Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me will enter Hellfire.” {Al-Mu’jam al-Awsaṭ #808}

The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) also said: "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, none from this nation of Jews and Christians hears of me, and then dies without having faith in my message, but that he will be an inhabitant of Hellfire." {Muslim #153}

THE TRIALS OF PROPHET AYYŪB: A VALUABLE LESSON FOR THE WORSHIPPERS OF ALLĀH

ALLĀH tells:

And (remember) Ayyūb, when he cried to his Lord:"Verily, distress has seized me, and YOU are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." So WE answered his prayer and removed his adversity,

ALLĀH tells us about Ayyūb (Job), and the trials that struck him, affecting his wealth, children and physical health.

He had plenty of livestock, cattle and crops, many children and beautiful houses, and he was tested in these things, losing every thing he had. Then he was tested with regard to his body, and he was left alone on the edge of the city and there was no one who treated him with compassion apart from his wife, who took care of him. It was said that it reached the stage where she was in need, so she started to serve people (to earn money) for his sake. The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"The people who are tested the most severely are the Prophets, then the righteous, then the next best and the next best."

According to another Hadith:

"A man will be tested according to his level of religious commitment; the stronger his religious commitment, the more severe will be his test."

The Prophet of ALLĀH, Ayyūb, upon him be peace, had the utmost patience, and he is the best example of that.

Yazid bin Maysarah said: "When ALLĀH tested Ayyūb, upon him be peace, with the loss of his family, wealth and children, and he had nothing left, he started to focus upon the remembrance of ALLĀH, and he said:

'I praise YOU, the Lord of lords, Who bestowed HIS kindness upon me and gave me wealth and children, and there was no corner of my heart that was not filled with attachment to these worldly things, then YOU took all of that away from me and YOU emptied my heart, and there is nothing to stand between me and YOU. If my enemy Iblis knew of this, he would be jealous of me.'

When Iblis heard of this, he became upset. And Ayyūb, upon him be peace, said:

'O Lord, YOU gave me wealth and children, and there was no one standing at my door complaining of some wrong I had done to him. YOU know that. I used to have a bed prepared for me, but I forsook it and said to myself: you were not created to lie on a comfortable bed. I only forsook that for YOUR sake.'"

This was recorded by Ibn Abi Hatim.

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said:

"When ALLĀH healed Ayub, HE sent upon him a shower of golden locusts, and he started to pick them up and gather them in his garment. It was said to him, 'O Ayub, have you not had enough!'

He said, 'O Lord, who can ever have enough of Your mercy!'"

The basis of this Hadith is recorded in the Two Sahihs...

(ALLĀH said)
and WE restored his family to him (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them.

...
as a mercy from Ourselves,

...
and a Reminder for all those who worship US.

means, 'WE made him an example lest those who are beset by trials think that WE do that to them because WE do not care for them, so that they may take him as an example of patience in accepting the decrees of ALLĀH and bearing the trials with which HE tests HIS servants as HE wills.'

And ALLĀH has the utmost wisdom with regard to that.

RELYING ON ALLAH ALONE IN ALL MATTERS

ALLĀH says,

And rely upon ALLĀH; and sufficient is ALLĀH as Disposer of affairs.

Therefore matters are to be referred to HIM and left to HIM, so HE will direct them in a way that is in the best interests of the individual, because HE knows what is in the best interests of HIS slave, whereas the individual may not know, and HE is able to bring it about in a way that the individual cannot. ALLĀH is more merciful towards HIS slave than he himself or his parents are, and HE is more kind than anyone else, especially in the case of the chosen ones among HIS slaves, who HE has constantly been taking care of and bestowing blessings upon them, both visible and hidden, especially when HE has commanded him to leave his affairs to HIM and promised to take care of him.

When a person has put his trust in ALLĀH in that manner, then do not ask about how every endeavour becomes easy, every difficult task becomes smooth, every calamity becomes bearable, every stressful situation is alleviated, all needs are met, blessings come down, trouble is warded off and evils are averted. Then you will see how the weak slave who delegated all his affairs to his master will be able to achieve many things that a group of people could not achieve, for ALLĀH will make easy for him that which is too difficult for the toughest and strongest of men to do. And it is ALLĀH Whose help we seek.

When Abdullah ibn al Mubarak (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) was asked about the descent of ALLĀH on the night of the 15th of Sha’bān, he said to the one who asked him:

"O weak one! The night of the fifteenth?! He, descends every night!"

AMONG THE FAVORS ALLAH HAS GRANTED PEOPLE ARE HEARING, SIGHT AND THE HEART

ALLĀH says:

And ALLĀH brought you out of the wombs of your mothers while you knew nothing. And HE gave you hearing, sight, and hearts, that you might give thanks.

ALLĀH mentions HIS blessings to HIS servants in that HE brought them from their mothers' wombs not knowing a thing, then HE gives them hearing to recognize voices, sight to see visible things and hearts - meaning reason - whose seat, according to the correct view, is the heart, although it was also said that its seat is the brain. With his reason, a person can distinguish between what is harmful and what is beneficial.

These abilities and senses develop gradually in man. The more he grows, the more his hearing, vision and reason increase, until they reach their peak.

ALLĀH has created these faculties in man to enable him to worship his Lord, so he uses all these organs, abilities and strengths to obey his Master.

Al-Bukhari reported in his Sahih from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of ALLĀH said: "ALLĀH says:

"Whoever takes MY friend as an enemy, has declared war on ME.

MY servant does not draw near to ME with anything better than his doing that which I have enjoined upon him, and MY servant keeps drawing near to ME by doing Nawafil (supererogatory) deeds until I love him.

And when I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his vision with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks.

Were he to ask ME for anything, I would give it to him, if he were to call on ME, I would respond, if he were to seek ME for refuge I would surely grant him it.

I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of MY believing servant, because he hates death and I hate to upset him, but it is inevitable."

The meaning of the Hadith is that when a person is sincere in his obedience towards ALLĀH, all his deeds are done for the sake of ALLĀH, so he only hears for the sake of ALLĀH, he only sees for the sake of ALLĀH - meaning he only listens to or looks at what has been allowed by ALLĀH. He does not strike or walk except in obedience to ALLĀH, seeking ALLĀH'S help in all of these things.

Sheikh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (may ALLĀH preserve him upon goodness) said:

"The proof upon loving the Messenger ﷺ is not just mere claims people make, or celebrations that are done rather the proof upon it is in four affairs:

• Obedience to him in what he commanded.

• Refraining from what he prohibited.

• Believing in all of that which he informed.

• Worshipping ALLĀH only in the manner he legislated."

ALLĀH'S HANDS ARE WIDELY OUTSTRETCHED

ALLĀH says,

And the Jews say, "The Hand of ALLĀH is chained (i.e. HE does not give and spend of HIS Bounty)." Chained are their hands, and cursed are they for what they say. Rather, both HIS hands are extended; HE spends however HE wills.

HIS Hands are giving by night and by day, and HIS bounty pours forth abundantly at all times, relieving distress, removing hardship, enriching the poor, ransoming the captive, consoling the afflicted, giving to those who are in need, answering the cry of the desperate, responding to those who ask, bestowing blessings even upon those who do not ask, granting well-being to those who seek it and never depriving any sinner of HIS bounty. Indeed HIS bounty is enjoyed by righteous and evildoers alike, but HE shows further kindness to HIS close friends by helping them to do righteous deeds. Then HE praises them and attributes their righteous deeds to them, by HIS grace, and HE rewards them for those deeds in this world and in the hereafter, a reward that cannot be described and has not crossed the mind of man. HE takes care of them in all their affairs, bestows HIS blessings upon them and wards off harm from them, much of which they are unaware of. Glory be to the One from Whom all blessings come and to Whom they turn to ward off harm. Blessed be the One Whom no one can praise as HE deserves; rather HE is as HE has praised HIMSELF. Exalted be the One of Whose generosity people are never deprived, not even for the blink of an eye; rather they cannot exist or survive except by HIS grace.

May ALLĀH doom the one who in his ignorance thinks that he can do without his Lord and who ascribes to HIM that which is not befitting to HIS Majesty. Rather if ALLĀH were to take to task the Jews who said that or others of their ilk, for some of what they say, they would have been destroyed and doomed in this world. But they say these things, and ALLĀH shows forbearance, overlooks and gives respite, but HE never forgets about them.

{Tafsi‌r As-Sa'di}

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The Right Hand of ALLĀH is full and that is never affected by the continuous spending, night and day. In HIS other Hand, is the Scale, which HE raises and lowers. Have you seen what ALLĀH has spent since HE created the heavens and the earth? And that has not decreased what is in HIS Hands in the slightest.'" {Ibn Mājah #197}

ALLĀH will then cause them to become better, regardless of whether they want to or not!"

THE BATTLE OF HUNAYN

The battle of Hunayn occurred after the victory of Makkah, in the month of Shawwal of the eighth year of Hijrah.

After the Prophet conquered Makkah and things settled, most of its people embraced Islam and he set them free. News came to the Messenger of ALLĀH that the tribe of Hawazin were gathering their forces to fight him, under the command of Malik bin Awf An-Nadri, as well as, the entire tribe of Thaqif, the tribes of Banu Jusham, Banu Sa'd bin Bakr, a few people of Awza' from Banu Hilal and some people from Bani Amr bin Amir and Awf bin Amir.

They brought their women, children, sheep and camels along, in addition to their armed forces and adequate supplies. The Messenger of ALLĀH marched to meet them with the army that he qbrought to conquer Makkah, ten thousand from the Muhajirin, the Ansar and various Arab tribes. Along with them came the Tulaqa numbering two thousand men.

The Messenger took them along to meet the enemy. The two armies met in Hunayn, a valley between Makkah and At-Ta'if.

The battle started in the early part of the morning, when the Huwazin forces, who were lying in ambush, descended on the valley when the Muslims entered. Muslims were suddenly struck by the ambush, the arrows descended on them and the swords struck them. The Huwazin commander ordered them to descend and attack the Muslims as one block, and when they did that, the Muslims retreated in haste, just as ALLĀH described them.

The Messenger of ALLĀH remained firm in his position while riding his mule, Ash-Shahba'. He was leading his mule towards the enemy, while his uncle Al-Abbas was holding its right-hand rope and (his cousin) Abu Sufyan bin Al-Harith bin Abdul-Muttalib was holding the left rope. They tried to hold the mule back so it would not run faster toward the enemy. Meanwhile, the Messenger of ALLĀH was declaring his name aloud and saying,

"O servants of ALLĀH! Come back to me! I am the Messenger of ALLĀH!"

He repeated these words,

"I am the Prophet, not lying! I am the son of Abdul-Muttalib!"

There remained between a hundred and eighty Companions with the Prophet. These included

Abu Bakr, Umar, Al-Abbas, Ali, Al-Fadl bin Abbas, Abu Sufyan bin Al-Harith, Ayman the son of Umm Ayman and Usamah bin Zayd.

There were many other Companions, may ALLĀH be pleased with them.

There were many other Companions, may ALLĀH be pleased with them.

The Prophet commanded his uncle Al-Abbas, whose voice was rather loud, to call at the top of his voice, "O Companions of the Samurah (tree)" referring to the Muhajirin and Ansar who gave their pledge under the tree during the pledge of Ridwan, not to run away and retreat.

He also called, "O Companions of Surah Al-Baqarah."

Upon hearing that, those heralded started saying,

"Here we are! Here we are!"

Muslims started returning in the direction of the Messenger of ALLĀH. If the camel of one of them did not obey him (as the people were rushing to the other direction in flight) he would wear his shield and descend from his camel and rush to the side of the Messenger of ALLĀH on foot.

When a large crowd gathered around the Messenger of ALLĀH, he commanded them to fight in sincerity and took a handful of sand and threw it in the faces of the disbelievers, after supplicating to ALLĀH,

"O ALLĀH! Fulfill YOUR promise to me!"

Then he threw that handful of sand which entered the eyes and mouth of all the disbelievers, thus distracting them from fighting, and they retreated in defeat.

The Muslims pursued the enemy, killing and capturing them. The rest of the Muslim army (returning to battle gradually) rejoined their positions and found many captured disbelieving soldiers kept tied before the Messenger of ALLĀH.

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymīn (may ALLĀH have mercy on him):

"Know that when you deal and interact with your wife then it is mandatory that you think of a [scenario] where a man is the husband of your daughter. How does he treat her? Would you be pleased for him to treat her with harshness and sternness? The answer is no.

Therefore, do not be content with treating the daughter of another person in a fashion that you would not be pleased for your daughter to be treated. This principle should be known by all people."

LIVE WITH WOMEN HONORABLY

ALLĀH said,

And live with them honorably,

by saying kind words to them, treating them kindly and making your appearance appealing for them, as much as you can, just as you like the same from them.

ALLĀH said in another Ayah,

And they have rights similar over them to what is reasonable.
(2:228)

The Messenger of ALLĀH said: "The best among you is he who is the best with his family. Verily, I am the best one among you with my family."

It was the practice of the Messenger of ALLĀH to be kind, cheerful, playful with his wives, compassionate, spending on them and laughing with them. The Messenger used to race with Aishah, the Mother of the Faithful, as a means of kindness to her.

Aishah said, "The Messenger of ALLĀH raced with me and I won the race. This occurred before I gained weight, and afterwards I raced with him again, and he won that race. He (ﷺ) said: "This (victory) is for that (victory)."

When the Prophet was at the home of one of his wives, sometimes all of his wives would meet there and eat together, and they would then go back to their homes. He and his wife would sleep in the same bed, he would remove his upper garment, sleeping in only his lower garment. The Prophet used to talk to the wife whose night it was, after praying Isha' and before he went to sleep.

ALLĀH said,

Indeed in the Messenger of ALLĀH you have a good example to follow.
