O mankind, there has to come to you INSTRUCTION FROM YOUR LORD, a cure for what is in the hearts, a guide, and a mercy for the believers. {Q 10:57} Also join: ➡️ @alBaseeroh ➡️ @Tafseer_Benefits ➡️ bio.link/albaseerah
Have you seen he who has taken as his god his ˹own˺ desire, and ALLĀH has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after ALLĀH? Then will you not be reminded?
And they say, "There is nothing beyond our worldly life. We die; others are born. And nothing destroys us but ˹the passage of˺ time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.
And whenever OUR clear revelations are recited to them, their only argument is to say: "Bring our forefathers back, if what you say is true!"
Say, ALLĀH causes you to live, then causes you to die; then HE will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know.

STRIVING IN THE LAST TEN OF RAMADĀN
'Ā'ishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her) narrated: "The Prophet ﷺ when the last ten entered, would enliven the night, awaken his family, strive earnestly and tighten his waste garment." {Agreed upon}
In another narration in Muslim: "ALLĀH'S Messenger ﷺ would strive in the last ten in a manner he did not strive in other than them." {Al-Bukhari #2024 and Muslim #1174}
The hadith is evidence that the last ten of Ramadān have a distinction over other than them; with an increase in acts of obedience and acts of worship such as şalāh, remembrance and recitation of the Qur'an.
The Mother of the Believers, 'A'ishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her), described our Prophet and our example - Muhammad - with four characteristics:
1⃣. Her saying: "he would enliven the night" which means: he stayed up all night, enlivening it with acts of obedience, and enlivening himself by staying up all night in them. This is because sleep is the brother of death. The meaning is: he enlivened the night by standing in it (for salah) and devotion to ALLĀH, the Lord of all creation.
Regarding the prohibition of standing (in salah) the whole night - as has come in the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn Umar (may ALLĀH be pleased with them), then that is interpreted to mean: doing so continuously, every night of the year. {Majmū' al-Fatāwā, 22/308}
It also could be that it means he enlivened most of the night. That is supported by the saying of 'A'ishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her): "I have never seen ALLAH'S Messenger ﷺ stand the whole night (in salāh) until the morning." {Muslim #746 and #141}
2⃣. Her saying: "awaken his family," which means: his pure wives, the Mothers of the Believers so that they may share with him in taking advantage of the good and the remembrance (of ALLĀH) and acts of worship in these blessed times.
3⃣. Her saying: "strive earnestly," which means: he strove to do acts of worship above what he did in the first twenty; and that is because the Night of Decree is in the last ten.
4⃣. Her saying: "tighten his waste garment," which means: he strove and labored in acts of worship. It is also said that it means: he kept away from his wives, and this is more apparent due to its attachment to what was before it. And he ﷺ used to make i'itikāf in the last ten, and the mu'takif is prohibited from his wives.
Truly, these ten are the seal of the month, and actions are according to their conclusions. Perhaps a person catches the Night of Decree while he is standing before the Lord of all creation, so his past sins will be forgiven. Therefore, the Muslim should increase in his worship when his month starts to decrease, and beautify himself with patience in performing acts of obedience. Actions are judged by the last of them.

THE VIRTUES OF THE NIGHT OF AL-QADR (THE DECREE)
ALLĀH Said;
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
Verily, WE have sent it down in the Night of Al-Qadr.
ALLĀH informs that HE sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Al-Qadr, and it is a blessed night about which ALLĀH says,
إِنَّأ أَنزَلْنَـهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـرَكَةٍ
We sent it down on a blessed night. (44:3)
This is the Night of Al-Qadr and it occurs during the month of Ramadān.
This is as ALLĀH says,
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِى أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْانُ
The month of Ramadān in which was revealed the Qur'an. (2:185)
Ibn Abbas and others have said,
"ALLĀH sent the Qur'an down all at one time from the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz) to the House of Might (Baytul-'Izzah), which is in the heaven of this world. Then it came down in parts to the Messenger of ALLĀH based upon the incidents that occurred over a period of twenty-three years."
Then ALLĀH magnified the status of the Night of Al-Qadr, which HE chose for the revelation of the Mighty Qur'an, by HIS saying,
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٌ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٍ
And what will make you know what the Night of Al-Qadr is? The Night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months.
Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Hurayrah "When Ramadān would come, the Messenger of ALLĀH would say,
"Verily, the month of Ramadān has come to you all. It is a blessed month, which ALLĀH has obligated you all to fast.
During it the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are shackled.
In it there is a night that is better than one thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its good, then he has truly been deprived."
An-Nasa'i recorded this same Hadith.
Aside from the fact that worship during the Night of Al-Qadr is equivalent to worship performed for a period of one thousand months, it is also confirmed in the Two Sahihs from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of ALLĀH said,
"Whoever stands ˹in prayer˺ during the Night of Al-Qadr with faith and expecting reward (from ALLĀH), he will be forgiven for his previous sins."

THE SUPPLICATION FOR LAYLATUL QADR
Laylatul Qadr is one of the most special nights of the year, as it is the night in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed and is described in the Qur’an as being "better than a thousand months." As Muslims, we spend the night in worship, which includes reading the Qur’an, performing supererogatory prayers, and reciting the best duas for Laylatul Qadr.
The most beautiful dua to make on Laylatul Qadr can be found in a well-known hadith reported on the authority of 'Aaishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her) who said, I said: "O Messenger of ALLĀH! What if I knew which night Laylatul Qadr was, what should I say in it?” The Prophet ﷺ said: "You should say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allāhumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annee
O ALLĀH; YOU are the One Who pardons greatly; and YOU love to pardon; so pardon me.
{At-Tirmidhi #3513}
Ibn Rajab (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Al-‘Afuww (The One Who pardons greatly) is from the Names of ALLĀH, the Most High; and HE overlooks the wrongdoings of HIS servants, HE is the One Who erases their trace from them. HE Loves to pardon; and so HE Loves to pardon HIS servants, HE likewise Loves from HIS servants that they should pardon each other, so if they pardon each other; HE conducts HIS pardon with them; and HIS Pardon is more beloved to HIM than HIS Punishment." {Lataa-if wal-Ma’aarif || Page 279}
Imām An-Nawawī (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Our companions have stated that it is recommended that one be plentiful in making this supplication, and it is recommended to recite the Qur’ān as well as making the other invocations. It is recommended that one is plentiful within it in making supplications for the important matters pertaining to the Muslims, for this is the distinctive sign of the righteous, and the well-acquainted servants of ALLĀH." {Al-Adhkār || Page 229 (abridged)}
We ask ALLĀH to make us of those who will witness Laylatul Qadr and attain its benefits.

"Listening to the Qur'ān bears the fruit of faith, guidance, light and prosperity. It fills the heart with wisdom, tranquillity, intimacy and contentment. It is a source of protection from the dangerous, deviant and sinful thought. Thus the ears of those who fast are turned to hear what is beautiful while the ears of the foolish are trained to hear falsehood. RAMADĀN REFLECTIONS: DAY 1⃣7⃣
TWO WISHES OF A BELIEVER
The above verse reminds us of a believer’s ultimate prayer—to die as a Muslim, fully submitting to ALLĀH, and to be resurrected among the righteous. It is a supplication that should be recited frequently, serving as a reminder of life's true priorities.
Remaining steadfast in faith until the end is a great achievement, as faith can weaken due to the nafs, Shayṭān, and life’s trials. A believer constantly prays for a good ending, seeking to leave this world with unwavering faith.
Additionally, the believer longs for the honor of being among the righteous in the Hereafter—those esteemed in the sight of ALLĀH. As ALLĀH says:
"And whoever obeys ALLĀH and the Messenger will be in the company of those blessed by ALLĀH: the prophets, the people of truth, the martyrs, and the righteous—what honourable company!" (4:69)

RAMADĀN REFLECTIONS: DAY 1⃣4⃣
FAMILY PROTECTION: A CORE RESPONSIBILITY
This verse highlights a fundamental duty of every parent: to guide and protect their family from failing in their ultimate purpose—worshipping ALLĀH, which leads to true success.
In today’s world, external influences pose serious challenges:
• Friends with different values.
• Education that promotes doubt about religion.
• Social media that shapes beliefs and behavior.
Being proactive means having open discussions, limiting harmful exposure, creating a strong Islamic atmosphere, and offering halal alternatives for leisure.
Protection goes beyond food and shelter—it includes:
• A brief discussion on a hadith or Quranic verse before heading to school or work.
• Creating an Islamic home environment – Filling it with dhikr and beneficial knowledge.
• Encouraging du’a & gratitude – Turning to ALLĀH in all matters.
...and so much more.
Without guidance, deviation is inevitable, and the Qur'ān warns us to prevent it.
~ Albaseerah
THE TWENTY-SEVENTH NIGHT IS HIGHLY PROBABLE TO BE LAYLATUL-QADR.
Ibn 'Umar (may ALLĀH be pleased with them) said: 'The companions of the Prophet ﷺ used to tell him their dreams that (Laylatul-Qadr) was on the 27th of the month of Ramadān.' The Prophet ﷺ said, "I see that your dreams agree on the last ten nights of Ramadān and so whoever is in search of it should seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadān." {Al-Bukhari #1156}
Sheikh al-Albānī (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "It is on the twenty-seventh night of Ramadān according to the strongest opinion. A majority of the ahādīth comply with this, including the hadīth of Zurr Ibn Hubaysh who said:
"I heard Ubay Bin Ka'ab (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) say when it was said to him that ‘Abdullāh Ibn Mas'ūd (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: "Whoever performs the night prayer (every night) throughout the year will achieve the Night of Al-Qadr."
He (Ubay Bin Ka'ab) said: "May ALLĀH have mercy on him, his intention was that the people not (grow lazy) and depend solely (on just one night). By the One of whom there is no deity worthy of worship beside HIM, it is indeed in Ramadān. And by ALLĀH I know on which night it is. It is on the night that ALLĀH’s Messenger ﷺ commanded us to perform the Night Prayer. It is on the twenty-seventh night. Its sign is that the sun rises on its following morning bright with no rays." {Muslim #762}
In one report this is raised to being a saying of the Prophet ﷺ {Sahih Abī Dawūd #1378}
📚Qiyām Ramadān || Page 18-19
Shaikhul-Islām Ibn Taimiyyah (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "...And it occurs more frequently in the last seven; and it occurs most frequently on the twenty-seventh, just as Ubayy ibn Kab used to swear an oath that it was the twenty-seventh night. So it was said to him: "How have you come to know that?" So he replied: "On account of the sign which ALLĀH's Messenger ﷺ informed us of. He informed us that the sun rises on the morning following it being like a brass dish, having no rays." {Muslim #762}
"So this sign which Ubayy ibn Kab reported from the Prophet ﷺ is from the most well known signs occurring in hadīth; and it is related regarding its signs that it is a night that is "bright, shining"; and it is calm; it is not very hot, nor very cold. It may occur that ALLĀH reveals it to some of the people in a dream, or whilst awake, such that he sees its light, or he sees one who says to him: "This is Laylatul-Qadr"; or he may open his heart to witnessing such things that make the affair clear to him, and ALLĀH -the Most High- knows best."

As the end of Ramadān approaches, this night gives us the valuable opportunity to redeem ourselves through prayer, reflection, seeking pardon and forgiveness, and increased worship. LAYLATUL-QADR IS BETTER THAN A THOUSAND MONTHS
ALLĀH's statement,
لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٌ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٍ
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months
That is, in its virtue it is equivalent to a thousand months, and deeds that are done on this night are better than deeds in a thousand months that do not contain this night.
This is something that is utterly astounding and amazing, that ALLĀH has blessed this weak Ummah with a night on which good deeds are equivalent to and surpass a thousand months, which is the age of a man who lives for a very long time, eighty-odd years.
{Tafsir As-Sa'di}
#sadi #qadr (97:3)
/channel/Tafseer_Benefits
THE VIRTUES OF THE NIGHT OF AL-QADR
Shaikh 'Abdur-Rahmān as-Sa'di (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said:
"Due to its virtue it is equivalent to a thousand months, therefore the action carried out within it is better than the action of a thousand months which is devoid of it (the night). This is from that which has baffled the minds, and the intellects are astonished at it, in that HE, The Blessed and Most High has granted favour upon this weak Ummah (nation) with strength and potency – with a night in which the action within it is in equivalence and in excess of that of a thousand months – the lifetime of a long-lived man who had a long life in excess of eighty years."
{Taysīr al-Karīm ar-Rahmān || Page 931}
Shaikh 'Abdur-Rahmān as-Sa’dī said likewise: "Know that it is from the wisdom of ALLĀH and HIS Mercy for you that HE has hidden from you its concealment, in order that you should be plentiful in action which draws nearness to HIM, and that you should attain ample reward and find favour with HIM.
Indeed; whoever proficiently refines his intention and his purpose, and thus seeks it in anticipation ˹of reward˺, then it is a must that he is procured from its goodness. Since there is no believing man or believing woman except that they have a share from its grants and its benefaction – in accordance to one’s circumstance.
Therefore ALLĀH did not grant favour upon this Ummah with it except to give them from its comprehensive virtue, nor did HE call them to perseverance in obedience except to elevate their ranks in gardens of delight. Hence; if the servant were to know of some of what is in it by way of reward; then he would strive hard in pursuit of it, and if his heart were to become busied over that which is in it from the secrets and the affairs of acquaintance; then he would find the hardship in exertion after it to be sweet.
A night in which the hearts are upon humility, and in which The Lord grants bountifully to HIS servants every good and what is requested, in it every servant who turns ˹to ALLĀH˺ devotes himself to The Lord, and takes from his Lord a more abounding share and a most complete portion. In it the sins and misdeeds are forgiven, and written down is all that is sanctioned for the servant in his year by way of good and bad, and obedience and misdeeds."

SPECIFYING THE NIGHT OF DECREE AND ITS SIGNS (1/2)
This is supported by what Imam Ahmad recorded from Ubadah bin As-Samit that the Messenger of ALLĀH said, "The Night of Al-Qadr occurs during the last ten ˹nights˺. Whoever stands for them ˹in prayer˺ seeking their reward, then indeed ALLĀH will forgive his previous sins and his latter sins.
It is an odd night: the ninth, or the seventh, or the fifth, or the third or the last night ˹of Ramadān˺."
The Messenger of ALLĀH also said, "Verily, the sign of the Night of Al-Qadr is that it is pure and glowing as if there were a bright, tranquil, calm moon during it.
It is not cold, nor is it hot, and no shooting star is permitted until morning.
Its sign is that the sun appears on the morning following it smooth having no rays on it, just like the moon on a full moon night.
Shaytan is not allowed to come out with it (the sun) on that day."
This chain of narration is good.
In its text there is some oddities and in some of its wordings there are things that are objectionable.
Abu Dawud mentioned a section in his Sunan that he titled, "Chapter: Clarification that the Night of Al-Qadr occurs during every Ramadān." Then he recorded that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said,
"The Messenger of ALLĀH was asked about the Night of Al-Qadr while I was listening and he said,
'It occurs during every Ramadān.'"
The men of this chain of narration are all reliable, but Abu Dawud said that Shu'bah and Sufyan both narrated it from Ishaq and they both considered it to be a statement of the Companion (Ibn 'Umar, and thus not the statement of the Prophet).
It has been reported that Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri said,
"The Messenger of ALLĀH performed I'tikāf during the first ten nights of Ramadān and we performed I'tikāf with him. Then Jibril came to him and said,
'That which you are seeking is in front of you.'
So the Prophet performed I'tikāf during the middle ten days of Ramadan and we also performed I'tikāf with him. Then Jibril came to him and said;
'That which you are seeking is ahead of you.'
So the Prophet stood up and gave a sermon on the morning of the twentieth of Ramadān and he said,
'Whoever performed I'tikāf with me, let him come back ˹for I'tikäf again˺, for verily I saw the Night of Al-Qadr, and I was caused to forget it, and indeed it is during the last ten (nights). It is during an odd night and I saw myself as if I were prostrating in mud and water.'
The roof of the Masjid was made of dried palm-tree leaves and we did not see anything (i.e., clouds) in the sky. But then a patch of wind-driven clouds came and it rained. So the Prophet lead us in prayer until we saw the traces of mud and water on the forehead of the Messenger of ALLĀH, which confirmed his dream."
In one narration it adds that
- this occurred on the morning of the twenty-first night (meaning the next morning).
They both (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) recorded it in the Two Sahihs.
Ash-Shafi'i said, "This Hadith is the most authentic of what has been reported."
It has also been said that it is on the twenty-third night due to a Hadith narrated from 'Abdullah bin Unays in Sahih Muslim.
It has also been said that it is on the twenty-fifth night due to what Al-Bukhari recorded from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of ALLĀH said,
"Seek it in the last ten (nights) of Ramadān. In the ninth it still remains, in the seventh it still remains, in the fifth it still remains."
Many have explained this Hadith to refer to the odd nights, and this is the most apparent and most popular explanation.
It has also been said that it occurs on the twenty-seventh night because of what Muslim recorded in his Sahih from Ubay bin Ka'b that the Messenger of ALLĀH mentioned that it was on the twenty-seventh night.

Sheikh Ibn Bāz (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said,
"Whoever is diligent during all of the last ten nights upon prayer, Qur'ān, Du'a, and other than it from the avenues of goodness has caught Laylatul-Qadr without doubt, and has successfully attained that which ALLĀH has promised those who stands during it out of Iman and seeking the reward from ALLĀH."

THE WISDOM BEHIND NOT KNOWING WHICH EXACT NIGHT LAYLATUL-QADR FALLS UPON
Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisī (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said:
"Some of the people of knowledge said:
ALLĀH The Most High made this night unapparent (obscure) upon the Ummah in order that they should strive hard in seeking after it; and that they should find aspiration in worship when seeking to attain it.
Just as HE made the hour in which the supplication is answered on a Friday as unapparent – in order that they should be plentiful in making supplication throughout the day.
Just as HE has made HIS Greatest Name unapparent from amongst HIS Names; and HIS Pleasure in varying forms of obedience – in order that they should strive hard in all of them.
Likewise HE has made death and the establishment of The Hour as unapparent – in order that the people should earnestly endeavor in performing actions – out of caution from them both."

The Virtues of the Night of Al-Qadr (Decree), the Descent of the Angels and the Decree for Every Good during the Night of Al-Qadr.
📖 Sūrah Al-Qadr, Verse 1-5.
Recited by Mishari al-'Afasy with English Translation by Ibrahim Walk (Saheeh intl Translation).
https://albaseerah-institute.github.io/albaseerah
Amongst the nights of Ramadān, there is one called ‘Laylatul Qadr’, a night that is noted for its great blessings. The Qur'ān describes it as being greater in blessings and spiritual virtue than a thousand months, which in turn means that it is more valuable than eighty three years and four months. Fortunate indeed is that person who attains the full blessings of this night by spending it in the worship of ALLĀH, because he has then attained the reward of worship for 83 years, 4 months and even more.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whosoever stands in worship on this night, with sincere faith and with genuine hopes of gaining reward, his previous sins will be forgiven." {Bukhari #1901}
Ibn Rajab used to say: "O you who has wasted the years of his life, there is nothing that will amend those lost and wasted years except for the night of Al-Qadr, for verily its value is equivalent to that of a lifetime." {Lata'if al-Ma'ārif || Page 191}
May ALLĀH bless us with the night of Decree.

RAMADĀN REFLECTIONS: DAY 1⃣9⃣
ASK FOR STEADFASTNESS
ALLĀH, as the Creator of our hearts, fully controls and understands them. Our choices and understanding are only possible through HIS will.
I once intended to name my daughter Juwayriyyah years before her birth, but just a day before her birth, Husnā suddenly settled in my heart—and that became her name.
Many times during the Sunnah prayer before Fajr, I intend to recite Al-Kāfirūn in the first rak‘ah, remembering even while on the last verse of Al-Fātiḥah, yet I still find myself reciting Al-Ikhlās instead.
Some people live as Muslims but turn to disbelief moments before death, while others embrace Islam at the last minute.
This shows ALLĀH’s control over our hearts. The gap between belief and disbelief is thinner than the blink of an eye, and only ALLĀH can keep us steadfast, no matter how firm we feel. That is why the Prophet ﷺ would often say:
"O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion."

RAMADĀN REFLECTIONS: DAY 1⃣8⃣
TOOLS TO NAVIGATE LIFE'S DIFFICULTIES
To navigate life's difficulties, a person needs more than physical strength—emotional and spiritual resilience are essential. When faced with challenges beyond one's ability, turning to the One who controls all affairs brings comfort and hope. Helplessness is replaced with hope and trust, and overwhelming problems become manageable.
The Qur'ān highlights two key pillars of support: prayer, which strengthens the soul by deepening one's connection with ALLĀH, and patience, which builds self-control and resilience. Many scholars of Tafsir interpret patience in this verse as fasting, a practice that cultivates discipline and endurance.
These two acts serve as powerful tools in overcoming hardships. They energize the soul, enabling one to take the necessary steps to improve a situation or, when change is not possible, to accept it with peace—free from bitterness and resentment.

Alif-Lām-Rā. ˹This is˺ a Book whose verses are perfected and then explained in detail from the Wise, the All Aware.
˹Through a messenger, saying˺ "Worship none but ALLĀH. Surely I am a warner and deliverer of good news to you from HIM.
And seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to HIM in repentance, that HE may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and and graciously reward the doers of good. But if you turn away, then indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great Day.
To ALLĀH is your return, and HE is Able to do all things.

EVERY MOMENT THAT PASSES DRAWS YOU CLOSER TO THE HEREAFTER – SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS VIRTUOUS MONTH.
Shaikh Muhammad bin Saalih al-'Uthaymīn (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said:
"We remind our brothers of the blessing of ALLĀH upon us that we have reached this month, we ask HIM that HE completes it for us with righteous action and acceptance. How many a person wished to reach this month yet did not reach it! How many a person was with us in the like of these nights last year and now has become subject to his actions in his grave! Whilst ALLĀH, The Glorified and Most High, has caused us to remain after our brothers who departed from us to the abode of recompense. Therefore we ask ALLĀH, The Most High, that HE forgives them and that HE does not put us to trial after them.
O brothers; indeed the prudent intelligent individual is he who eagerly takes advantage of the days in full advantage, and gains from its opportunities in profit, because time doesn’t show mercy, time goes by; it does not stop due to the excuse of the one who makes excuse; nor does it halt due to the slumber of the sleeper or the sickness of the ailing. It goes by every hour and at every moment.
Indeed; if your duration in the life of this world is lengthened, there diminishes for you the duration in the future. Every moment that passes – it further distances you from the world and draws you closer to the Hereafter, and thus; a prolonged lifespan is not to be rejoiced with except if the person has spent it in the obedience of his Lord. We ask ALLĀH to make us and you from these people.
Truly; the best of the people is the one whose life-span became prolonged and his action was admirable, and truly; the worst of the people is the one whose life-span became prolonged and his action was foul. Indeed every deceased one who passed away is regretful, so if he was a doer of good; he will be regretful that he could not have increased, and if he was a doer of bad deeds; he will be regretful that he could not have sought atonement ˹to seek the pleasure of ALLĀH˺."

We rightly link this verse to Abraha's army, who sought to oppress Makkah by destroying their most cherished treasure, Al-Ka'bah. But ALLĀH thwarted them. This lesson remains a warning to all who misuse power and authority.
The husband who mistreats and oppresses his wife—have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant?
The leader who tyrannizes those under his care—have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant?
The employer who exploits and abuses his workers—have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant?
The wealthy who use their riches to oppress the poor—have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant?
ALLĀH said: "As for ʿAad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that ALLĀH who created them was greater than them in strength?" (41:15)

RAMADĀN REFLECTIONS: DAY 1⃣3⃣
INVOCATION WITH HOPE
In the verse above, Prophet Zakariyyā prays to ALLĀH for a child. Before making his request, he expresses that he has never been disappointed in his supplications to HIM.
One of the essential etiquettes of supplication is to maintain hope in ALLĀH. A supplicator should approach their prayer with confidence that it will be accepted, based on having a positive opinion of ALLĀH.
During this blessed month, when we frequently turn to ALLĀH to ask for our needs in both this world and the Hereafter, we must remain hopeful for His response. Let the example of Prophet Zakariyyā serve as a reminder that our supplications to ALLĀH will never go unanswered. We should be confident that ALLĀH will respond to our prayers and that no one who seeks HIS help leaves empty-handed from HIS door. The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Every one of you will have his supplications answered, as long as he is not impatient..." {Muslim}
