THE PROHIBITION OF WEARING A RING FOR PROTECTION OR CURE FROM HARM
It is reported on the authority of Umran Ibn Husain (may ALLĀH be pleased with him), that ALLĀH’s Messenger (ﷺ) saw a man with a brass ring in his hand, and he asked him; “What is this?”
He replied: “It is for protection from al-waahinah (rheumatism).
The Prophet (ﷺ) answered: “Remove it at once, for verily, it will not increase you except in weakness, and were you to die whilst wearing it, you would never be successful.” {Ahmad 4/445}
Umran Ibn Husain (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) informs us in this Hadith that the Prophet (ﷺ) saw a man with a brass ring in his hand, and he asked him for what purpose he was wearing it. The man answered that he was wearing it to protect him from illness, at which the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him to remove it and informed him that it would only cause him to become weak and not protect him from illness at all, and that should he die while wearing it and believing in its power to protect him, he would not succeed in the Hereafter, nor would he know eternal bliss.
BENEFITS DERIVED FROM THIS HADITH
1⃣. The permissibility of requesting detailed information by the Mufti.
2⃣. The importance of intentions.
3⃣. That the method of reproof and rejection may differ according to the individual concerned, so if there is a likelihood that words of wisdom will suffice, force should not be resorted to
4⃣. Evidence of the ignorance of the polytheists before Islam.
5⃣. Forbiddance of seeking a cure by the use of that which is prohibited.
6⃣. That the prohibited is of no benefit at all: Even though it may help to some degree, the harm it causes is greater.
7⃣. The ignorant man is not excused from the obligation to seek knowledge.
8⃣. That it is by a person’s last actions that he will bejudged on the Day ofResurrection.

AN INTERESTING CONFESSION REGARDING AL-ISRĀ' WAL-MI'RĀJ
In his book Dala'il An-Nubuwwah, Al-Hafiz Abu Nu'aym Al-Isbahani recorded via Muhammad bin Umar Al-Waqidi who said:
Malik bin Abi Ar-Rijjal told me from Amr bin Abdullah that Muhammad bin Ka'b Al-Qurazi said:
"The Messenger of ALLĀH sent Dihyah bin Khalifah to Caesar."
He mentioned how he came to him, and described an incident that showed how wise Caesar was.
He sent for the Arab merchants who were in Syria and Abu Sufyan Sakhr bin Harb and his companions were brought to him. He asked them the well-known questions that were recorded by Al-Bukhari and Muslim, as we shall discuss below, and Abu Sufyan tried hard to give the impression that this was an insignificant issue.
(The narrator) said that Abu Sufyan (later) said:
"By ALLĀH, nothing stopped me from saying something to Heraclius to make him despise (Muhammad) but the fact that I did not want to tell a lie that would later be found out, and he would never believe me again after that.
Then I told him about the night on which he was taken on the Night Journey.
I said: 'O King, shall I not tell you of something from which you will know that he is lying!'
He said, 'What is it?'
I said: 'He claims that he went out of our land, the land of Al-Haram, in one night, and came to your sanctuary in Jerusalem, then came back to us the same night, before morning came.'
The Patriarch of Jerusalem was there, standing next to Caesar.
The Patriarch of Jerusalem said: 'I know that night.'
Caesar looked at him and said, 'How do you know about this!'
He said: 'I never used to sleep at night until I closed the doors of the sanctuary. On that night I closed all the doors except for one, which I could not manage to close. I asked my workers and others who were with me to help me deal with it, but we could not move it. It was like trying to move a mountain. So I called the carpenters, and they looked at it and said: The lintel and some part of the structure has fallen onto it. We cannot move it until morning, when we will be able to see what the problem is. So I went back and left those two doors open.
The next morning I went back, and saw that the stone at the corner of the sanctuary had a hole in it, and there were traces of an animal having been tethered there.
I said to my companions: This door has not been closed last night except for a Prophet, who prayed last night in our sanctuary."'
And he mentioned the rest of the Hadith.

TEN WAYS BY WHICH THE TONGUE IS MISUSED
2⃣. Al- Gheebah (Backbiting)
Al-Gheebah means mentioning something about a person in his absence, that he hates to have mentioned, whether it is about his body, his religious characteristics, his worldly affairs, his self, his physical appearance, his character, his wealth, his child, his father, his wife, his manner of walking, and his smile. It is the same whether you mention that about him with words, through writings, or whether you point or indicate to him by gesturing with your eyes, hand or head.
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) that the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said: “Do you know what gheebah (backbiting) is?” They said, “ALLĀH and HIS Messenger know best.” He said, “Saying something about your brother that he dislikes.” It was said, “What if what I say about my brother is true?” He said, “If what you say is true then you have backbitten about him, and if it is not true, then you have slandered him.” {Muslim #2589}
Gheebah is so much detested that ALLĀH said:
وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا۟ وَلَا یَغۡتَب بَّعۡضُكُم بَعۡضًاۚ أَیُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمۡ أَن یَأۡكُلَ لَحۡمَ أَخِیهِ مَیۡتࣰا فَكَرِهۡتُمُوهُۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابࣱ رَّحِیمࣱ
And do not spy or backbite each other. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it. And fear ALLAAH; indeed, ALLAAH is Accepting of repentance and Merciful." {Al-Ḥujurāt || Verse 12}
Gheebah was sternly warned against, and this is why ALLĀH compared it to eating the flesh of a dead human being. Just as you hate eating the flesh of a dead person, on account of your nature; so hate backbiting, on account of your religion. The latter carries a punishment that is worse than the former. This Ayah seeks to discourage people from backbiting and warns against it.
Anas ibn Malik (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When I was taken on my night journey, I passed by people who had metal hooks in their hands and they were clawing at their faces and necks. I said: Who are these, O Gabriel? Gabriel said: These are the ones who ‘eat the flesh of people’ (as mentioned in Qur'an 49:12) and attack their honor.” {Sunan Abi Dāwūd #4878}
Another consequence of backbiting is that it removes one's good deeds and gives it to the person who has been wronged. Abu Huraira (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, “Do you know who is bankrupt?” They said, “The one without money or goods is bankrupt.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Verily, the bankrupt of my nation are those who come on the Day of Resurrection with prayers, fasting, and charity, but also with insults, slander, consuming wealth, shedding blood, and beating others. The oppressed will each be given from his good deeds. If his good deeds run out before justice is fulfilled, then their sins will be cast upon him and he will be thrown into the Hellfire.” {Muslim #2581}
These verses and ahadith are guiding us towards the right path, and to the path of believers. Islam prohibits al-gheebah because it tears down so many relationships and leads to destruction.
And we ask ALLĀH for protection.

WISDOM BEHIND THE LEGISLATION OF AQĪQAH
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Every child is mortgaged by his 'aqīqah, so slaughter for him on the seventh day, and shave his head..." {Abū Dāwūd #2838}
Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) commented:
"ALLĀH the Exalted made the sacrifice on behalf of the child a reason for their release from the devil that clings to them upon their emergence in this life, and a stab in his (i.e., the devil) flank. The 'aqiqah is a ransom and a release of Satan's restraining, captivity and hindrance of pursuing the Hereafter. It is as the newborn is mortgaged for slaughter by the devil with the knife, which he prepared for his followers and allies, and swore to his Lord to destroy the descendants ˹of Adam˺, except for a few. He is on alert for the newborns since they enter this life. When they do, he rushes to them, embraces them and makes sure to keep them in his grasp, under his captivity and among his allies and party. He is most keen on this.
The majority of newborns are among his herd and army, as ALLĀH the Exalted said:
وَشَارِكْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَوْلَادِ
"And become a partner in their wealth and their children." {Al-Isra' || Verse 64}
HE also said:
وَلَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِبْلِيسُ ظَنَّهُ
"And Satan had already confirmed through them his assumption." {Saba' || Verse 20}
Thus, the newborn was subject to this mortgaging, and ALLĀH the Exalted allowed the parents to release that mortgage through a sacrifice; but if they do not perform it, the newborn remains mortgaged. That is why the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Along with a boy there is an 'aqiqah, so shed blood on his behalf, and remove harm (hair) from him."
Therefore, he commanded shedding blood on the child's behalf, which releases the mortgaging. Had the mortgaging been related to the parents, he would have said: 'shed blood on your behalf so that the intercession of your children can reach you.' However, since he (ﷺ) commanded to remove the apparent harm (hair) from him, and shedding blood, which removes the ulterior harm from him, we learn that this 'aqiqah releases the child from the apparent and ulterior harm. ALLĀH knows best HIS intent and the intent of HIS Messenger (ﷺ)."

Introduction to the Sīrah of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) || Ustadh AbdulRahman Hassan (may ALLĀH preserve him upon goodness)
Читать полностью…This Will Harden Your Heart || Shaykh Sulaymān al-Ruḥaylī (may ALLĀH preserve him upon goodness)
Читать полностью…MEANING OF ISTAWĀ
As for ALLĀH'S statement,
ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ
and then HE rose over (Istawa)
the Throne
the people had several conflicting opinions over its meaning. However, we follow the way that our righteous predecessors took in this regard, such as Malik, Al-Awza'i, Ath-Thawri, Al-Layth bin Sa'd, Ash-Shafi'i, Ahmad, Ishaq bin Rahwayh and the rest of the scholars of Islām, in past and present times.
Surely, we accept the apparent meaning of, Al-Istawā, without discussing its true essence, equating it (with the attributes of the creation), or altering or denying it (in any way or form). We also believe that the meaning that comes to those who equate ALLĀH with the creation is to be rejected, for nothing is similar to ALLĀH,
لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَىْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
There is nothing like HIM, and HE is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. (42:11)
Indeed, we assert and affirm what the Imāms said, such as Nu'aym bin Hammad Al-Khuza'i, the teacher of Imam Al-Bukhari, who said,
"Whoever likens ALLĀH with HIS creation, will have committed Kufr (disbelief).
Whoever denies what ALLĀH has described HIMSELF with, will have committed Kufr.
Certainly, there is no resemblance (of ALLĀH with the creation) in what ALLĀH and HIS Messenger (ﷺ) have described HIM with.
Whoever attests to ALLĀH'S attributes that the plain Āyāt (verses) and authentic Hadiths have mentioned, in the manner that suits ALLĀH'S majesty, all the while rejecting all shortcomings from HIM, will have taken the path of guidance."

STERN WARNING AGAINST SHIRK
ALLĀH says: "Indeed, ALLĀH does not forgive association of partners with HIM, but HE forgives what is less than that for whom HE wills." {An-Nisā || Verse 48}
"...if you should associate ˹anything˺ with ALLĀH, your deeds would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers."
{Az-Zumar || Verse 65}
Khuraym ibn Fatik (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, “There are two inevitabilities: one who declares there is no god a ˹worthy of worship˺ but ALLĀH or who is a believer will enter Paradise, and one who dies while associating partners with ALLĀH will enter Hellfire.” {Sahih Ibn Hibban #4630}
“Whoever hangs an amulet around his neck has committed an act of idolatry.” {Musnad Ahmad #17388}
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman As-Sa'di (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "This verse (4:48) tells us that ALLĀH will not forgive the sin of ascribing partners to HIM, because this is a grave insult to the Lord of the worlds and a denial of HIS oneness; it implies regarding the created being who possesses no power to ward off harm from, or benefit, himself as equal to the One Who is in control and possesses the power to bring benefit or cause harm, the only One from Whom blessings come, and no one can ward off harm but HE; HE is utterly perfect in all aspects and completely independent of all needs." {Taysir al-Karīm ar-Rahman || Page 196}

HOW TO CATCH UP WITH JUMU'AH PRAYER
One can only catch up with the Jumu'ah prayer if he catches a Rak'ah with the Imām, and catching a Rak'ah - according to the opinion of the majority of the scholars - means catching up with the Ruku' with the Imām. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever catches up with one Rak'ah of the prayer has caught up with the prayer.” {Al-Bukhārī #580; Muslim #607}.
Al-Nawawi (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "What we have mentioned about catching up with the rak'ah by catching up with ruku' (bowing) is the correct view, as stated by al-Shafi'i. It was also the view of the majority of our companions and the majority of scholars. It is the apparent meaning of the hadiths and all people are unanimously agreed upon it. There is another view, which is very weak, which suggests that it does not count." {al-Majmu', 4/112}
If he catches up with the Imam before he stands up from Ruku' in the second Rak'ah, then he has caught up with the prayer, and he should then complete your prayer after the Imām says the Salām. He should stand up and complete the remaining Rak'ah of his prayer.
However, if he catches up with the Imam after the Imām has stood up from Ruku', this means that he has missed the Jumu'ah prayer, and has not caught up with it. In this case, he has to pray it as Zuhr. He should stand up after the Imām has said the Salām and complete his prayer with four Rak'ahs because it is Zuhr and not Jumu'ah.
It says in Sahih fiqhus-Sunnah: "This is the view of the companions of the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ).
It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may ALLĀH be pleased with them) that he said: "If a man catches up with one rak'ah of the Friday prayer, he should pray another one with it. And if he finds them sitting, he should pray four rak'ahs." {Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi 3/204 and others}
And it was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) that he said: "Whoever catches up with one rak'ah has caught up with the Friday prayer, and whoever does not catch up with the Friday prayer should pray four rak'ahs." {Musannaf Abd ar-Razzaq #5477}
Sheikhul-Islām (Ibn Taymiyah, may ALLĀH have mercy on him) also narrated from Anas (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) that he said, "No difference of opinion is known among the Companions regarding this, and many others have narrated that this is the consensus of the Companions."
And this is the view of the majority of scholars, Malik, Al-Shafi'i and Ahmad (may ALLĀH have mercy on them) and others." {Sahih fiqhus-Sunnah 1/592)
And ALLĀH knows best.

THE TERRORS OF THE DAY OF RESURRECTION
ALLĀH says,
وَيَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَفَزِعَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
And ˹warn of˺ the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified
ALLĀH tells us about the terrors of the Day when the Sur will be blown. The Sur, as described in the Hadith, is: "a horn which is blown into"
According to the Hadith about the Sur (Trumpet), it is (the angel) Israfil who will blow into it by the command of ALLĀH, may HE be exalted. He will blow into it for the first time, for a long time. This will signal the end of the life of this world, and the Hour will come upon the most evil of people ever to live. Everyone who is in the heavens and on earth will be terrified,
إِلاَّ مَن شَآءَ اللَّهُ
except him whom ALLĀH wills.
these are the martyrs, for they are alive, with their Lord, and being provided for.
Imam Muslim bin Al-Hajjaj recorded that 'Abdullāh bin 'Amr, may ALLĀH be pleased with him, said that a man came to him and said, "What is this Hadith that you are narrating, that the Hour will come upon such and such people"
He said, "Subhan Allāh or Lā Ilāha Illallāh (or something similar), I had decided that I would not narrate anything to anyone now. I had only said that after a little while, you will see a major event which will destroy the House the Ka'bah, and such and such will happen." Then he said, "The Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ said:
"The Dajjal will emerge in my Ummah, and will remain for forty -- I do not know whether he said forty days, or forty months, or forty years -- then ALLĀH will send 'Isa son of Maryam, who looks like 'Urwah bin Mas'ud, and he will search for him and destroy him. Then mankind will remain for seven years during which there will not be any enmity between any two people. Then ALLĀH will send a cool wind from the direction of Syria, and no one will be left on the face of the earth who has even a speck of goodness or faith in his heart, but it will take him. Even if he entered into the heart of a mountain, the wind would follow him and seize him." He said, "I heard it from the Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ who said:
"Then the most evil of people will remain, and they will be as nimble as birds and will be more temperamental than wild beasts. They will not recognize anything good or denounce anything evil. The Shaytan will appear to them and will say, "Will you do as I tell you" They will say, "What do you command us to do" He will command them to worship idols but in spite of this their provision will be plentiful and they will lead comfortable lives. Then the Sur (Trumpet) will be blown, and no one will hear it but he will tilt his head to hear the sound. The first person to hear it will be a man who is setting up the tank for watering his camels. He will fall down, and all the other people will also fall down. Then ALLĀH will send -- or send down -- rain like dew -- or he said, like shade (Nu''man was the one who was not sure) -- from which will grow the bodies of the people. Then the Trumpet will be blown again, and they will get up and look around. Then it will be said: "O mankind! Go to your Lord!" And they will be stopped, for they are to be questioned. Then it will be said: "Bring forth the people who are to be sent to the Fire." It will be asked: "How many are they" It will be said, "Out of every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine." That will be the Day which will make the children grey-headed, and that will be the Day when the Shin shall be uncovered."

HAVING GOOD EXPECTATIONS
ALLĀH says: (Ya'qūb said) O my sons! Go and search ˹diligently˺ for Yūsuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of ALLĀH’s Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of ALLĀH’s Mercy, except the people who disbelieve." {Yūsuf || Verse 87}
Abu Huraira (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, “ALLĀH Almighty says: 'I am as MY servants expect of ME. If he thinks good of ME, he will have it. If he thinks evil of ME, he will have it.'” {Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān #639}
Abu Huraira (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said: “ALLĀH says: 'I am as MY servant expects of ME, and I am with him when he calls upon ME.'” {Muslim #2675}
Anas (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I am delighted by optimism, the good word, the kind word.” {Muslim #2224}
Khaythamah reported: Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said, "I swear by the One Who there is nothing worthy of worship but HIM, a believing servant is not given anything better than good thoughts about ALLĀH Almighty. I swear by the One Who there is nothing worthy of worship but HIM, a servant does not improve his opinion of ALLĀH Almighty except that ALLĀH will give him what he assumes. That is because all good is in HIS hands.”
{Ḥusn al-Ẓan Billāh #83}
It is upon us to have good expectations regarding ALLĀH, trust in HIM, and be patient for HIS favor. The One whose command when HE intends a thing is “Kun (Be)” and it is, is trustworthy in HIS promise. Only HE brings good and wards off evil. HE acts with wisdom, gives ease after hardship, grants to be thanked, and tests to know those who are patient.

BENEVOLENT TOWARDS ORPHANS
ALLĀH says: "And they ask you about orphans. Say, improvement for them is best. And if you mix your affairs with theirs - they are your brothers." {Al-Baqarah: Verse 220}
Abu Darda (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, “Bring the orphan close to you, pat his head, and feed him with the same food you eat. It will soften your heart and fulfill your need.” {Makārim al-Akhlāq lil-Kharā’iṭī #661}
Malik ibn Al-Harith (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, “Whoever embraces an orphan of two Muslim parents by feeding him and giving him drink until he is independent of him, Paradise will certainly be necessary for him." {Musnad Aḥmad #19855}
Sahl ibn Sa'd (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. {al-Bukhārī #5659}
Ibn Battāl said (may ALLĀH have mercy on him): "It is the duty of every believer who hears this hadīth (hadīth sahl ibn Sa'd) to strive to follow it, so that he will be in Paradise with the Prophet (ﷺ) and the company of Prophets and Messengers for there is no status in the Hereafter that is better before ALLĀH then the company of the Prophets." {Sharh Ibn Battaal || 17/260}.
Sheikh Ibn Uthaymīn (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Sponsoring an orphan means taking care of his religious and worldly affairs, giving him an upbringing, guidance, education and so on that he grows up following the teachings of Islām and taking care of his worldly affairs by giving him food, drink and accommodation." {Sharh Riyādhus-Saliḥīn || Page 311}

VIRTUES OF THE GREETING OF SALĀM
ALLĀH says: "When you enter houses, give greetings of Peace upon each other (i.e. say: As-Salāmu ‘Alaikum - peace be on you) - a greeting from ALLĀH, blessed and good." {An-Nur || Verse 61}
Abu Huraira (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “ALLĀH created Ādam in HIS image, sixty cubits tall. When HE created him, ALLĀH said: Go and greet with Salām these groups of assembled angels and listen to how they greet you, for this will be the greeting among your progeny. Adam said: 'Assalāmu Alaykum' (Peace be upon you). The angels said: 'Assalāmu Alayka Warahmatullāhi' (Peace be upon you and the mercy of ALLĀH). Thus, they added the mercy of ALLĀH. Everyone who enters Paradise will be in the image of Ādam, for the creation has continued to diminish in stature until now.” {Al-Bukhārī #5873, Muslim #2841}
Anas ibn Mālik said: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said to me, "O my son, when you enter upon your family and say salām, it will be a blessing for you and the members of your household." {Al-Tirmidhi #2698}
Mujahid (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "And when you enter the Masjid, say: Peace be upon the Messenger of ALLĀH; When you enter upon your families, greet them with Salam; And when you enter a house in which there is nobody, say: As-Salamu 'Alayna wa 'Ala Ibadillāhis-Salihin (peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of ALLĀH). This is what one is commanded to do, and it has been narrated to us that the angels will return his greeting." {Tafsir Ibn Kathīr}
Ibn al-Qayyim (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) “ALLĀH, the Sovereign, the Most Holy, the Peace, prescribed that the greeting among the people of Islām should be 'As-salāmu Alaykum', which is better than all the greetings of other nations which include impossible ideas or lies, such as saying, 'May you live for a thousand years', or things that are not accurate, such as 'An’im sabaahan (Good morning)', or actions that are not right, such as prostrating in greeting. Thus the greeting of salām is better than all of these, because it has the meaning of safety which is life, without which nothing else can be achieved. So this takes precedence over all other aims or objectives. A person has two main aims in life: to keep himself safe from evil, and to get something good. Keeping safe from evil takes precedence over getting something good.” {Badā'i al-Fawā'id || Page 144}

THE PROSTRATION OF THE ANGELS WAS BEFORE ĀDAM BUT THE OBEDIENCE WAS TO ALLĀH
Qatadah commented on ALLAH'S statement,
وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَيِكَةِ اسْجُدُواْ لادَمَ
And (remember) when WE said to the angels:"Prostrate yourselves before Adam",
"The obedience was for ALLĀH and the prostration was before Adam. ALLĀH honored Adam and commanded the angels to prostrate before him."
Some people said that this prostration was just a prostration of greeting, peace and honor, hence ALLĀH'S statement,
And he (Prophet Yusuf) raised his parents to the throne and they fell down before him prostrate. And he said: "O my father! This is the interpretation of my dream aforetime! My Lord has made it come true!" (12:100)
The practice of prostrating was allowed for previous nations, but was repealed for ours.
Mu'adh said to the Prophet (ﷺ): "I visited Ash-Sham and found that they used to prostate before their priests and scholars. You, O Messenger of ALLĀH, are more deserving of prostration."
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "No. If I was to command any human to prostrate before another human, I would command the wife to prostrate before her husband because of the enormity of his right on her."
Ar-Razi agreed with this view.

ORDERING OBEDIENCE OF THE MESSENGER IN ALL COMMANDS AND PROHIBITIONS
ALLĀH the Exalted said,
وَمَا اتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانتَهُوا
Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it. And whatever he forbids you from, leave it.
This includes both fundamental and minor issues of religion, whether they have to do with outward conduct or inward beliefs and attitudes. Whatever the Messenger (ﷺ) gives, it is obligatory for people to pay heed to it and follow it, and it is not permissible to go against it. If the Messenger (ﷺ) gives a ruling, it is like a ruling from ALLĀH, and no concession or excuse is granted to anyone to refrain from doing it. It is not permissible to give precedence to the view of anyone else over the view of the Prophet (ﷺ).

Abdullāh ibn Mas’ud (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) cursed the woman who does tattoos and the one who has them done, and those who pluck their eyebrows and file their teeth for the purpose of beautification, and those who change the creation of ALLĀH."
News of that reached a woman of Banu Asad who was called Umm Ya'qub. She came to him and said: "I have heard that you said such and such."
He said: 'Why should I not curse those whom the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) cursed ? And it is in the Book of ALLĀH (Qur'an).''
She said: "I read what is between its two covers 'and I have not found that."
He said: "If you read it properly you would have found it. Have you not read the words:
'وَمَا اتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانتَهُوا
Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it. And whatever he forbids you from, leave it.
She said: "Of course." He said: 'The Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ forbade that."
She said: 'I think that your wife does it.'
He said: " Go and look."
So she went and looked and she did not see what she wanted. She said: "I have not seen anything!’
'Abdullāh said: "If she was as you say, I would not have kept her with me."

THE WORLDLY LIFE IN COMPARISON TO THE HEREAFTER
ALLĀH says: "Say, The enjoyment of this world is little, and the Hereafter is better for he who fears ALLĀH." {An-Nisā || Verse 77}
"O my people! Truly, this life of the world is nothing but a (quick passing) enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever." {Ghāfir: Verse 39}
Al-Mustawrid (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said: "The life of this world, compared to the Hereafter, is just like when one of you dips his finger in the sea, let him contemplate how much of it his finger would carry?" {Muslim #2858}
Anas ibn Mālik (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The wealthiest of people in this world, from among the dwellers of Fire, will be brought on the Day of Judgment and dipped once in the Fire then he will be asked: O son of Adam, Have you ever witnessed any goodness? Have you ever experienced any bliss? He will say: O Lord, by ALLĀH I have not. Then, the most miserable of people in this world, from among the dwellers of Paradise, will be dipped once in Paradise then he will be asked: O son of Adam, have you ever witnessed any misery? Have you ever experienced any hardship? He will say: No by ALLĀH, I have never witnessed any misery nor have I experienced any hardship.” {Muslim #2807}
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman As-Sa'di (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Man’s life in this world is very short, so why should he make it his only goal and focus all his efforts, striving, aspirations and concern only on this short worldly life that is filled with troubles, problems and calamities? On what basis did you decide to give it precedence over the hereafter that is filled with all kinds of delights, everything that people long for and that delights the eyes, and you will abide therein forever? By ALLĀH, no one could give precedence to this world over the hereafter who has faith established in his heart, or is of sound mind, or could be regarded as a person of mature thinking." {Taysir al-Karīm ar-Rahman || Page 384-385}

'WHEN THE DECREE STRIKES A PERSON, HIS EYES BECOME BLIND AND HE LOSES ALL CAUTION'
ALLĀH tells:
وَتَفَقَّدَ ٱلطَّيۡرَ
He (Sulayman) inspected the birds,
Mujahid, Sa'id bin Jubayr and others narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) and others that the hoopoe was an expert who used to show Sulayman where water was if he was out in open land and needed water.
The hoopoe would look for water for him in the various strata of the earth, just as a man looks at things on the surface of the earth, and he would know just how far below the surface the water was. When the hoopoe showed him where the water was, Sulayman would command the Jinn to dig in that place until they brought water from the depths of the earth.
One day Sulayman went to some open land and checked on the birds, but he could not see the hoopoe.
فَقَالَ مَالِيَ لاَ أَرَى الْهُدْهُدَ أَمْ كَانَ مِنَ الْغَآئِبِينَ
and (Sulayman) said: "What is the matter that I see not the hoopoe Or is he among the absentees"
One day 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) told a similar story, and among the people was a man from the Khawarij whose name was Nafi' bin Al-Azraq, who often used to raise objections to Ibn 'Abbas. He said to him,
"Stop, O Ibn 'Abbas; you will be defeated (in argument) today!"
Ibn 'Abbas said: "Why"
Nafi' said: "You are telling us that the hoopoe can see water beneath the ground, but any boy can put seed in a trap and cover the trap with dirt, and the hoopoe will come and take the seed, so the boy can catch him in the trap."
Ibn 'Abbas said, "If it was not for the fact that this man would go and tell others that he had defeated Ibn 'Abbas in argument, I would not even answer."
Then he said to Nafi': "Woe to you! When the decree strikes a person, his eyes become blind and he loses all caution."
Nafi' said: "By ALLĀH I will never dispute with you concerning anything in the Qur''an."

UPHOLDING INTEGRITY IN JOBS
'Adi bin 'Umairah (May ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger OF ALLĀH ﷺ said, "Whosoever among you is appointed by us to a position and he conceals from us even a needle or less, it will amount to misappropriation and he will be called upon to restore it on the Day of Resurrection".
('Adi bin 'Umairah added:) A black man from the Ansar stood up - I can see him still - and said: "O Messenger of ALLĀH, take back from me your assignment.''
He (the Prophet ﷺ) said, "What has happened to you?''
The man replied: "I have heard you saying such and such.''
He ﷺ said, "I say that even now: Whosoever from you is appointed by us to a position, he should render an account of everything, big or small, and whatever he is given therefrom, he should take and he should desist from taking what is unlawful". {Muslim}

COMMENTARY:
Here, functionaries of government are warned to perform their duties with co-operation and integrity. If they neglect their duties or take undue advantage of their official position, they will be held guilty by ALLĀH for dereliction of their duties and misuse of power. It also tells us that it is the duty of the superior officers to keep a strict watch on their subordinates and not to let them indulge in bribery and abuse; otherwise, their negligence or slackness or overlooking or shirking from their duty in this behalf will also be treated as crime. It is not difficult to imagine the fate of such officers who conspire in the loot and plunder as is the case in our society today.

'INSIGNIFICANT WORDS' REGARDED AS LIES
ALLĀH says: "...you counted it a little thing, while with ALLĀH it was very great." {An-Nūr || Verse 15}
"ALLĀH has kept account of it all, while they have forgotten it. For ALLĀH is a Witness over all things." {Al-Mujādilah: Verse 6}
Abdullah ibn Amr (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: My mother called me one day while the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) was seated in our house. She said, “Come here and I will give you something.” The Prophet (ﷺ) asked her, “What do you want to give him?” She said, “I will give him a date.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “If you had not given him anything, it would have been recorded against you as a lie.” (Sunan Abī Dāwūd #4991)
Asma’ bint Yazid reported: Food was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) and it was presented before us. We said, “We do not have an appetite for it.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Do not combine hunger with lies.” (Sunan Ibn Mājah 3298)
Al-Tibi, commenting on the hadith (Sunan Ibn Mājah 3298), said: “It means you refused the food with your saying we have no appetite for it, but you were actually hungry. It is a combination between hunger and dishonesty.” {Mirqāt al-Mafātīḥ #4256}
In our daily lives, we may make offhand remarks, half-truths, or promises we don't intend to keep, thinking they're harmless. The above texts highlight how seemingly small, everyday words and actions can hold significant weight in the sight of ALLĀH, even if we may regard them as insignificant. Simple statements, like making promises we don't keep or claiming something untrue, even a promise to a child hold weight and if it’s not fulfilled, are recorded and can be counted as lies, impacting our integrity. These teach us to be mindful and truthful in every situation, no matter how small, as these actions shape our character and our accountability before ALLĀH.

TEN WAYS BY WHICH THE TONGUE IS MISUSED
1⃣. An-Namīmah (Gossiping)
An-Namīmah basically means repeating everything one hears and spreading rumours or even facts that one should not be spreading, either about a person or something intimate in order to cause corruption. ALLĀH says:
وَلَا تُطِعۡ كُلَّ حَلَّافࣲ مَّهِینٍ ۞ هَمَّازࣲ مَّشَّاۤءِۭ بِنَمِیمࣲ
And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer, slanderer, gossip-monger... {Al-Qalam || Verse 10-11}
Ibn Kathīr (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) says regarding the "gossip-monger" mentioned in the verse: "This refers to the one who goes around among people instigating discord between them and carrying tales in order to corrupt relations between people when they are good and pleasant." {Tafsir Ibn Kathīr}
Gossiping, rumouring, and backbiting all destroy friendships and families and fuels mistrust among community members. Still worth, they destroy our hard-earned good deeds and make us liable to punishment in the hereafter.
Hudhayfah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The gossip-monger will not enter Paradise” {Al-Bukhārī #5709}
Abu Huraira (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: We were walking with the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ), when we passed by two graves. The Prophet stood over them and we stood with him. The color of his face changed until it was white like the sleeve of his shirt. We said, “What is wrong, O Prophet of ALLĀH?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “You cannot hear what I hear.” We said, “What is that, O Prophet of ALLĀH?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “These two men are being severely punished in their graves for a trivial matter.” We said, “What is that, O Prophet of ALLĀH?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “One of them did not take care to keep his garments clean of urine. The other harmed people with his tongue, carrying gossip between them.” {Sahih Ibn Hibban #831}
The seriousness of gossiping and spreading of false rumors is addressed by ALLĀH in the Qur'ān in the following way:
إِذۡ تَلَقَّوۡنَهُۥ بِأَلۡسِنَتِكُمۡ وَتَقُولُونَ بِأَفۡوَاهِكُم مَّا لَیۡسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلۡمࣱ وَتَحۡسَبُونَهُۥ هَیِّنࣰا وَهُوَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَظِیمࣱ
“When you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought it was insignificant while it was, in the sight of ALLĀH, tremendous.” {An-Nur: Verse 15}
Being humans we are short-sighted and see things only in the perspective or in the vision which is under our control or power. We might spread a rumour thinking it to be casual and not having any graveness associated with it, however, it is not that the rumour is trivial, rather it is our comprehension of things that are trivial and immature. It is only ALLĀH who has a greater view of things and who knows what damage a seemingly casual or trivial gossip could cause, therefore, it needs to be avoided in any case and under any circumstances.
In a nutshell, gossiping and the spreading of rumour by whatever means is never trivial or casual that could be done for fun, rather it is always grave and has far-reaching implications.
May ALLĀH protect us from the fitnah of our tongues. Āmīn.

WHY THERE IS NO BASMALAH IN THE BEGINNING OF SURAH AT-TAWBAH
This honorable Surah (at-Tawbah) was one of the last Surahs to be revealed to the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ).
Al-Bukhari recorded that Al-Bara said, "The last Ayah to be revealed was,
يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلِ اللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِى الْكَلَـلَةِ
They ask you for a legal verdict. Say: "ALLĀH directs (thus) about Al-Kalalah." (4:176),
while the last Surah to be revealed was Bara'ah (at-Tawbah)."
The Basmalah was not mentioned in the beginning of this Surah because the Companions did not write it in the complete copy of the Qur'an (Mushaf) they collected, following the Commander of the faithful, 'Uthman bin 'Affan, may ALLĀH be pleased with him.
At-Tirmidhi recorded from Ibn Abbās, who said: "I said to 'Uthman bin 'Affan: 'What was your reasoning with Al-Anfal - while it is from the Muthani (Surah with less than one-hundred Ayat), and Bara'ah while it is from the Mi'in (Surah with about one-hundred Ayat), then you put them together, without writing the line Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim between them, and you placed them with the seven long (Surah) - why did you do that?'
So 'Uthman said: 'A long time might pass upon the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) without anything being revealed to him, and then sometimes a Surah with numerous (Ayat) might be revealed. So when something was revealed, he would call for someone who could write, and say: "Put these Ayat in the Surah which mentions this and that in it." When an Ayah was revealed, he would say: "Put this Ayah in the Surah which mentions this and that in it." Now Al-Anfal was among the first of those revealed in Al-Madinah, and Bara'ah among the last of those revealed of the Qur'an, and its narrations (those of Bara'ah) resembled its narrations (those of Al-Anfal), so we thought that it was part of it. Then the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) died, and it was not made clear to us whether it was part of it. So it is for this reason that we put them together without writing Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim between them, and we put that with the seven long (Surahs).'"
It was also narrated by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Al-Nasa’i, Ibn Hibban in his Sahih, and Al-Hakim in his Mustadrak...

When will you regain consciousness? || Shaykh Ibn Uthaymīn (may ALLĀH have mercy on him)
Читать полностью…MISUSE OF THE TONGUE
Words are powerful, and can do great good; we can keep ourselves in a constant state of worship by engaging in Dhikr, reciting the Qur’ān or supplicating. We can do good for others by encouraging them, imparting knowledge, talking about Islām or even saying kind words as ALLĀH teaches us to “...speak kindly to the people.” {Al-Baqarah || Verse 83}
If we do not have anything good or beneficial to say, then it is best that we keep silent, in order to avoid greater harm that we may not even be aware of. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever believes in ALLĀH and the last day should speak good or keep silent.” {Al-Bukhārī #6136}
This is because our words can bring about great evils. The Prophet (ﷺ) tells us that, “Most of the sins of the children of Adam are on their tongues.” {At-Tabarāni #10446}
If we kept this in mind, would we say half the things that we normally do? There are countless ahadīth that speak about the dangers of the tongue, which emphasizes the fact that we should pay attention to what we say and be careful with the way we speak.
The seriousness of this matter is further shown by the following hadith: “The son of Adam wakes up and the whole body makes takfeer (i.e. warns of error) upon his tongue saying, ‘Fear ALLĀH concerning us for indeed we are upon you so if you are upright then we will be upright and if you are corrupt then we will be corrupt.” {At-Tirmidhi #2407}
What does this hadith tell us? That the whole body depends on how upright our tongues are- if we are uttering foul things and become used to it, it is only natural that our bodies will follow in the same path; for every little sin leads to a greater one if we do not desist and ask for forgiveness.
One of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ), Mu’adh ibn Jabal (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) was asking about an act that would enter him into Paradise, and remove him from the Hell-fire. The Prophet (ﷺ) proceeded to tell him many great and noble things, and at the end he said: “Should I not inform you of the sheet anchor of all this?" I said: “ALLĀH’s Apostle (of course do it)” He (ﷺ) pointed to his tongue and said: “Exercise restraint on it” I said: “Apostle of ALLĀH, would we be held responsible for what we say with it?” Thereupon he (ﷺ) said: “O Mu’adh, may your mother be bereaved! Will anything else besides (irresponsible) talk cause the people to be thrown into the Hell-Fire upon their faces or on their nostrils?” {At-Tirmidhi #2616}
Knowing the punishment for irresponsible talk, what has the Prophet (ﷺ) said about those who guard against it? “Whoever guarantees me (the chastity of) what is between his legs (i.e. his private parts), and what is between his jaws (i.e., his tongue), I guarantee him Paradise.” {Al-Bukhari #6109}
And what a magnanimous reward- can any one of us imagine the Prophet ﷺ, telling us on Judgement Day, “Here is the Paradise that I have guaranteed for you”? If only we would exercise a little control over the things we say. Above all, we should remember that ALLĀH (ﷺ) says, “Not a word does he utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).” {Qāf: Verse 18}
Keeping these ahadīth and ALLĀH's words in mind, what are the sins of the tongue? There are 10 main ones.
In sha ALLĀH we'll analyse the 10 ways by which we misuse our tongues in this series.
We ask ALLĀH to aid us and you in doing that which brings about HIS utmost Pleasure.

It was narrated that 'Abdullāh ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said to me: "It is sufficient for you to fast three days every month because, for every good deed, you will have (the reward of) ten like it, so that will be like fasting for a lifetime." {Al-Bukhārī #1874, Muslim #1159}
Abu Hurayrah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: "My close friend (the Prophet ﷺ) advised me to do three things which I will not give up until I die: fasting three days of each month, praying Duha, and sleeping after Witr." {Al-Bukhārī #1124, Muslim #721}

WHY WAS CHANGING THE QIBLAH MENTIONED THRICE
ALLĀH said;
And from wheresoever you start forth ˹for prayers˺, turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (at Makkah), that is indeed the truth from your Lord. And ALLĀH is not unaware of what you do.
This is a third command from ALLĀH to face Al-Masjid Al-Haram (the Sacred Mosque) from every part of the world (during prayer).
It was said that ALLĀH mentioned this ruling again here because it is connected to whatever is before and whatever is after it. Hence, ALLĀH first said:
قَدْ نَرَى تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَاء فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَاهَا
Verily, WE have seen the turning of your (Muhammad's) face towards the heaven. Surely, WE shall turn you to a Qiblah (prayer direction) that shall please you, (2:144), until:
وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُوْتُواْ الْكِتَابَ لَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
Certainly, the people who were given the Scripture (i.e., Jews and the Christians) know well that, that ˹your turning towards the direction of the Ka'bah at Makkah in prayers˺ is the truth from their Lord. And ALLĀH is not unaware of what they do. (2:144)
ALLĀH mentioned in these Ayat HIS fulfillment of the Prophet's wish and ordered him to face the Qiblah that he liked and is pleased with.
In the second command, ALLĀH said:
وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَإِنَّهُ لَلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
And from wheresoever you start forth ˹for prayers˺, turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram that is indeed the truth from your Lord. And ALLĀH is not unaware of what you do.
Therefore, ALLĀH states here that changing the Qiblah is also the truth from HIM, thus upgrading the subject more than in the first Ayah, in which ALLĀH agreed to what HIS Prophet had wished for. Thus ALLĀH states that this is also the truth from HIM that HE likes and is pleased with.
In the third command, ALLĀH refutes the Jewish assertion that the Prophet faced their Qiblah, as they knew in their Books that the Prophet will later on be commanded to face the Qiblah of Ibrahim, the Ka`bah
And from wheresoever you start forth (for prayers), turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (at Makkah), and wheresoever you are, turn your faces towards it (when you pray),
The Arab disbelievers had no more argument concerning the Prophet's Qiblah after ALLĀH commanded the Prophet to face the Qiblah of Ibrahim, which is more respected and honored, rather than the Qiblah of the Jews. The Arabs used to honor the Ka'bah and liked the fact that the Messenger was commanded to face it.
