Please help me understand one thing:
Have you ever seen "humanitarian aid" distributed at 2am in the morning?
This is Gaza today via the Israeli-American collection points.
How many more scores of dead bodies and drug-infested sacks of flour will we need to see before it finally dawns on the world -
This isn't aid.
This is calculated murder.

"But what about us?"
The heart breaking question that the people of Gaza have not stopped asking since the ceasefire between Iran and Israel was announced.
The question that torments us and devours our hearts.
"Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs…"
Just in case this story is buried beneath all the noise:
Today alone, 74 of our brothers and sisters in Gaza were killed by the Zionist war machine, as they stood in line, waiting for a scrap of the so-called “aid.”
All I can recall is how many times the Qur’an lists the quality of “not encouraging the feeding of the poor”
In Surah al-Ḥāqqah:
“And he did not encourage the feeding of the poor.” [69:34]
In Surah al-Māʻūn: وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
“And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.” [107:3]
In Surah al-Fajr:
“And you do not urge one another to feed the poor.” [89:18]
Pay attention:
Hell was promised to them all for merely failing “to encourage the feeding of the poor”. So, what about those who systematically murder starving people as they reach out for aid, aid that was deliberately used to gather and kill them?
May Allah curse the oppressors and all who support or enable them.
May Allah disgrace the criminals, to make them taste the exact pain they inflict, and to increase them ruin in this life before the next.
As we ask Allah to use us in His service, to elevate us from being mere spectators and commentators on the Ummah’s pains, into causes of change and reformation.
You read in the Qur’an the words of Prophet Yūsuf:
ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ
“That is from the favour of Allah upon us and upon the people, but most people are not grateful.” (Al-Qur’an 12:38)
Do you know where Yūsuf said these words?
In a prison cell.
The righteous recognise Allah’s favours in freedom and in captivity, in abundance and starvation, in safety and abandonment, and whether they understand Allah’s wisdom in life’s events or remain in the dark.
The ultimate blessing in life - as Prophet Yūsuf reminds us - is being guided to the truth. That alone outweighs the pain of any trial.
During Yūsuf's hour of desperation and pain, he wasn’t just patient.
He was grateful.
Alhamdulillah in all circumstances.
All throughout my youth, I remember the stories my late grandfather, Muḥammad ʿAlī Hammuda, would share about the ethnic cleansing they endured in Palestine, the cold-blooded killing of his father, the trauma of forced displacement, and the endless episodes of agony at the hands of the Israeli occupiers.
He recalled it time and time again at family gatherings, through his poetry, and in his duʿā’. Each time, he wept with the same raw pain, as if it had happened only yesterday.
Many years later, here is Dr. Shir Hever—the grandson of the man who killed my great-grandfather—speaking at the United Nations, recounting the massacres and ethnic cleansing that took place in our family’s hometown of Lydd (Lidda), Palestine.
Dr Shir, thank you.
There is a subtle and beautiful meaning that we are to recall during this special season:
Allah Himself has honoured the first ten days of Dhul Ḥijjah, and He loves to see us do the same.
In other words, you may already be engaged in acts of goodness—giving charity, reciting the Qur’an, teaching beneficial knowledge, supporting the causes of the Ummah, enjoining good and forbidding wrong, or simply being a source of khayr in the lives of others. But, as you do so, add a deeper layer to your intention:
That you are doing these acts as a form of honouring for what Allah has declared honoured.
That intention alone - holding in high regard what Allah holds in high regard - transforms the nature of your deeds and multiplies them. Yes, you're carrying out these actions anyway, but now, you are doing it as a way of honouring what your Lord has honoured, and Allah does not allow such a mindset to go unrewarded, as He says:
ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَـٰٓئِرَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى ٱلْقُلُوبِ
“That is so. And whoever honours the symbols of Allah, it is certainly from the piety of hearts.” (Al-Ḥajj 22:32)
May Allah allow us to earn the most of what these game-changing days have to offer. The Prophet PBUH said:
أفضل أيام الدنيا أيام العشر
“The best days of this worldly life are the ten days [of Dhul Ḥijjah].”

A group of Palestinian bakers in Gaza break into the nostalgic song “وين أيامنا وين – Where Have Our Days Gone” as they bake bread together, trays sliding in and out and hands moving swiftly over dough. They sing of days long gone and memories that still linger.
Just one bakery inside of Gaza showing the unbreakable Palestinian spirit, alive and defiant despite the horrific crimes committed against them. There's simply no beating these people - they are the best of us.

Is it realistic or even possible to be positive in light of the current circumstances?

This time, and yet again, members of my family join the long and ever-growing bandwagon of ascending souls who were huddling at the Fatima Bint Asad School in the North of Gaza. They were:

Omar Issa Abdullah Hammuda, 40 years old
Abdul Majid Abdullah Issa Hammuda, 18 years old
Hassan Ali Issa Hammuda, 11 years old
Su'ad Ali Issa Hammuda, 3 years old
Ali Issa Abdullah Hammuda, 38 years old
Sameeh Mahmoud Muhammad Khudr, 42 years old

May Allah have mercy upon you all and upon all those who have risen to their Lord during this unjust campaign of barbarism.
Gaza doesn't need anymore tears. It needs ideas and initiative
The initiative taking spirit—especially in times of hardship—was a defining feature of the first generation of the Prophet’s Companions. They didn’t wait for the Prophet (peace be upon him) to find solutions; they stepped forward with immense confidence in their ideas.
We saw this proactive spirit in Abu Basir and the resistance movement he launched off the coast; in Hubab ibn al-Mundhir when he advised the Prophet (peace be upon him) to reposition the Muslim army at Badr and Khaybar; in Sa’d ibn Mu’adh when he suggested building a protective shelter for the Prophet at Badr; in Salman the Persian’s proposal to dig a trench during the Battle of the Confederates; in al-Bara’ ibn Malik’s courageous request to be launched over the walls of the Garden of Death during the battle against Musaylimah the Liar—opening the gate for the Muslims; in al-Zubayr’s risky climb over the walls of the Babylon fortress during the conquest of Egypt.
Yes, Du‘ā is vital and must continue, so must charity.
But what the Ummah desperately needs now is initiative from every one of us.
We have agency.
You have agency.
His mother and siblings are all injured, and have been taken out of Gaza. Another lonely and hungry child that our Ummah, all 2 billion of them, is apparently unable to feed.
Three things repel hardship:
1. Supplication (Duʿāʾ)
"My Lord would not care for you were it not for your supplication." (Al-Qur’an 25:77)
2. Gratitude in all circumstances
"If you are grateful, I will surely increase you." (Al-Qur’an 14:7)
3. Supporting the weak and downtrodden
The Prophet PBUH said: هل تُنصَرون وتُرزقون إلا بضعفائكم
“You are granted victory and provision only because of your weak ones" (Al-Bukhari)
O Allah, we raise our hands to You in desperation and certainty, we are grateful for all Your wise decrees, even the ones we don’t yet understand, and as for the weak ones in Gaza -
Strengthen their hearts, hasten their relief, honour their dead, guard their wounded and avenge them, O Allah, in a way that befits Your Unmatched Power and Perfect Justice.
Relapse in faith
An era marked more than ever before by change, coupled with the human heart, which by nature is in constant change, can only lead to one conclusion: change.
Whether it’s someone who walks away from Islam entirely, or a Muslim who withdraws—relapsing into sin or distancing themselves from the Islamic life, we cannot afford to bury our heads in the sand.

This is what Israeli-American "aid collection" points look like in Gaza.
Some come home carrying bags of flour. Others come home carrying the corpses of hungry martyrs. The former is probable. The latter is guaranteed.
May Allah bring upon the murderers what they deserve.

Life doesn't begin with marriage
Just as how life does not end with divorce, life does not begin with marriage. Life before marriage isn't the dark period where they dim the lights before the real show starts. It is very much part of the show—but one that is wasted in the lives of many as they wait for marriage. “When will you do such and such?” you ask. They respond, “When I get married.”
Whilst we all know where marriage stands from an Islamic perspective, your life is not defined by the existence of a person you have not even met. Your life’s definition and greatest purpose is spelled out clearly in the Qur’an:
قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
“Say, ‘Surely my prayer, my worship, my life, and my death are all for Allah—Lord of all worlds.’” (Al-Qur’an 6:162)
And where Allah says:
“Every soul will taste death. And you will only receive your full reward on the Day of Judgment. So, whoever is spared from the Fire and is admitted into Paradise has succeeded, and what is the life of this world but the delusion of enjoyment.” (Al-Qur’an 3:185)
So, don’t ignore the experience of single life -
Find new hobbies, make righteous friendships, establish your career, get healthy, eliminate stubborn sins and bad habits, learn something for your unborn children, rediscover the masjid, give and plan relentlessly for the pressing causes of the Ummah—like Gaza and others. Get used to having mature conversations, to making your bed, to keeping your room tidy.
Above all, use this period to invest in your īmān and to make peace with Allah.
Ultimately, if you think that you’re ready to know someone else without first knowing yourself, then you’ve set yourself up for a failed marriage even before you enter it.

The Prophet ﷺ once asked his companions:
ما تَعُدُّونَ الرَّقُوبَ فِيكُمْ؟
“Who do you consider to be a raqūb (childless) among you?”
They replied: “The one who has no children.”
He said: “That is not the raqūb. Rather, it is the one who has not sent ahead any of his children (to the Hereafter).”
This is yet another remarkable example of how our religion redefines established terms, connecting higher meanings to them.
According to the Prophet (PBUH), the true raqūb (childless) is not the one who was never given children, but the one who was never tested through them, and thus never given the chance to turn that grief into nearness to Allah.
Needless to say, this is certainly not a celebration of loss, but a reorientation of how the believer views trials, particularly the loss of children. The death of a child is one of life’s most painful blows, but in the eyes of the believer, it is also a door to unimaginable reward.
Gaza continues to demonstrate how it is only Iman (faith in Allah) that can transform the heaviest pains.
May Allah gather you in the highest ranks of Paradise, Dr. Alaa al-Najjar, with your nine beautiful children at your side. And may He unleash His justice upon those who slaughtered them in oppression, and upon every hand stained with the blood of innocent children.
In couplets of poetry, the Arabs of the past once said:
ونحنُ أناسٌ لا توسّطَ بيننا
“We are a people who do not settle for middle grounds;
It’s glory at the front or we choose the grave.
We lay down our lives in pursuit of the heights,
For the one who seeks the fine bride dares any price.”
🇵🇸
I wish I could say this was a beautiful sunrise or a peaceful sunset.
It’s just another day of bombing in Gaza, another day of the sky catching fire over Jabalia.
Another day soaked in blood.
The next phase..
In light of the extreme campaign of brutality in Gaza —and the near-total global abandonment of its victims—a heavy moral debt has been accumulated. Life will simply never return to how it once was before this tragedy. That chapter is closed.
How Allah will settle this debt is known only to Him. But one thing appears certain: it will reach the homes of nearly every human being in the coming period.
Believers must realise that what has taken place in Gaza will not be brushed aside or forgotten in Allah's records. These events were extreme in every sense of the word - in savagery, in hypocrisy, in arrogance, and in the shameful global neglect. Even if every weapon were to fall silent today, enough has already happened to warrant terrifying days ahead.
It's time to rise above the noise and distractions of daily life, to brace our īmān for the phase to come—by turning back to Allah in repentance, by tightening our grip on His dīn, and – equally important - by pushing ourselves to the maximum in aid of Gaza's cause.
This isn’t about pessimism—not in the slightest, as the outcome always favours the righteous. But based on all what has now occurred, and based on what we know of Allah’s fixed laws in the universe, the road to that outcome is going to be filled with real difficulty in the coming phase.
So, register stances of piety and activism whilst you still can, stances of real reformation and change, both within yourself and your circles, even the very smallest of them at your local Masjid, at home, or even smaller.
Perhaps, through our desperate efforts, Allah may spare us from what He has prepared for a world that watched and did nothing.
“So when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We rescued those who forbade evil, and seized the wrongdoers with a severe punishment for their rebelliousness.” [Al-Qur'an 7:165]
[Adapted]
If the Day of Judgment were held for Gaza alone—with no other case in history to be settled—it would still be a day of overwhelming terror and awe.
We’re now talking about over fifty thousand martyrs, hundreds of thousands injured, and millions of ongoing tragedies—starvation, displacement, grief—stories so painful they’re almost impossible to bear.
If each case took just one hour to be judged, how long would that Day last?
One single case: the killer is brought to account. Then, all those who enabled him—those who helped, who made the bullet possible, who passed along the intel, who incited him with words, actions, or even a silent nod—are also brought forward.
Then, what about those who stayed silent? Who walked away and gave up? Who chose their stomachs and appetites over boycotting the products of the killers of Gaza? Those who rarely brought Gaza, al-Aqsa and Palestine into their discourse, arguing that they "do not discuss politics"? Or those who tip toed around the topic, fearing for their followership, income or both?
What if they, too, are called to answer?
Then, what about those in power—Muslim and non-Muslim alike—who suppressed the truth and spread falsehood? Who silently celebrated the death of Gaza? Who punished those who dared to speak out, who tweeted, who raised a flag, who protested the massacre? What if they are brought forth as well?
All of this for a single case of suffering in Gaza.
So, what about every case of Gaza?
What about every case of Palestine?
What about every case of every living thing that has ever existed?
That inevitable and fast approaching Day will be beyond imagination.
“When the earth is shaken with its final quake, and it throws out its burdens, people will cry out, “What is happening to it?” On that Day, it will speak its stories—because your Lord will have commanded it. That Day, people will emerge in scattered groups to be shown their deeds. Whoever has done even an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever has done even an atom’s weight of evil will see it.”
(Al-Qur’an, 99:1-8)
