NoName 057(16) в очередной раз посмеялись НАТО в лицо, на этот раз вмешавшись в проведение саммита в Вильнюсе
Недавно прошел саммит НАТО в Вильнюсе. Ну и, конечно же, перед этим событием не могли не вспомнить про нашу страну. На этот раз ее упомянули в том контексте, что русские хакеры, возможно, попытаются влезть. Однако поспешили добавить, что НАТО их не боится, натовские хакеры смогут дать им отпор.
Честно говоря, зря они делали такие громкие заявления… Ведь, как известно, подобные высказывания для русских как зеленый сигнал светофора. Пророссийская хакерская группировка NoName 057(16), которая заявила о себе в марте 2022, уже успела навести шороху в различных странах, в том числе в Швейцарии, показала и на этот раз, на что она способна.
Русские в очередной раз навели шороху.
Не бросайте русским вызов
Итак, сначала 10 июля в 9:30 утра портал по продаже транспортных и проездных карт "Go Vilnius" первым был отключен от сети. Вместо того чтобы воспользоваться приложением для мгновенной оплаты, многим участникам саммита пришлось стоять в очереди в кассу.
Часом позже были отключены сайт транспорта общего пользования и автовокзала Литвы.
Примерно в 3 часа дня был отключен портал Вильнюсской городской УК. В результате пресса, вместо того чтобы хвастаться тем, что российские киберпираты не смогли пробиться, писала о том, что, к сожалению, все идет не так, как хотелось бы. Ведь когда не работает нормально транспорт, наступает хаос. Все опаздывают к месту назначения, вызывают такси, что перегружает эту службу и приводит к резкому росту цен.
Еще был отключен главный портал Вильнюсских водопроводных и канализационных очистных сооружений, служба управления уличным освещением города. Также была отключена служба авторизации электросетей.
Все это произошло накануне саммита НАТО. 11 июня его участники были в шоке, когда в спешке подсчитывали количество отключенных сервисов.
Что касается интернет-ресурса самого саммита, так он «упал» еще до начала этого события. Причем наши хакеры отключили там все что только можно. Начиная с информационных порталов, заканчивая порталом стратегических разработок.

U.S. Government Agencies' Emails Compromised in China-Backed Cyber Attack
An unnamed Federal Civilian Executive Branch (FCEB) agency in the U.S. detected anomalous email activity in mid-June 2023, leading to Microsoft's discovery of a new China-linked espionage campaign targeting two dozen organizations.
The details come from a joint cybersecurity advisory released by the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on July 12, 2023.

NoName Hackers Target Lithuanian Media, Hits ‘Alfa’ and ‘Lithuania in a Week’
In a series of cyber attacks on media, the NoName hacker collective has targeted the online portal Alfa, owned by the Lithuanian media and the portal of an ongoing media project, “Lithuania in a Week”.
The alleged cyber attacks on Lithuania targeted two online businesses to halt the spread of what the hackers called “Russophobic statements and publications.”
The Cyber Express attempted to contact the affected parties for further information on the cyber attacks on Lithuania, but technical difficulties prevented any communication. Both websites were down at the time of writing, and communication channels were limited.

The National Bank of Poland has become the latest target among several Polish organizations named by the hacker group.
In its latest cyber attack on European nations, the pro-Russian hacker group NoName has claimed to launch a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack against critical infrastructures in Poland.
The hacker collective has targeted key institutions, including the National Bank of Poland and the website of the Polish Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT GOV). The bank, also called Narodowy Bank Polski (NBP), reportedly failed to defend the DDoS attack.

Moving on to the other aspects of book translation that make a native professional indispensable are all of the semantic, grammatical, technical and other aspects that can be studied and theorized on for decades but which a non-native speaker can truly never attain complete mastery in (and for a native speaker requires extensive writing experience in varying fields such as journalism, literature and even poetry), these include: cohesion; elision; the proper transition of logical thought blocks; contextualization; presentation; the proper formality or dignity of words, phrases and constructions; and the proper tone, language, formality and language use associated with particular target audiences. New TOITOIN Banking Trojan Targeting Latin American Businesses
Businesses operating in the Latin American (LATAM) region are the target of a new Windows-based banking trojan called TOITOIN since May 2023.
"This sophisticated campaign employs a trojan that follows a multi-staged infection chain, utilizing specially crafted modules throughout each stage," Zscaler researchers Niraj Shivtarkar and Preet Kamal said in a report published last week.
"These modules are custom designed to carry out malicious activities, such as injecting harmful code into remote processes, circumventing User Account Control via COM Elevation Moniker, and evading detection by Sandboxes through clever techniques like system reboots and parent process checks."

Malicious USB Drives Targetinging Global Targets with SOGU and SNOWYDRIVE Malware
Cyber attacks using infected USB infection drives as an initial access vector have witnessed a three-fold increase in the first half of 2023,
"Once SNOWYDRIVE is loaded, it creates a backdoor on the host system, giving attackers the ability to remotely issue system commands," Mandiant researchers Rommel Joven and Ng Choon Kiat said. "It also spreads to other USB flash drives and propagates throughout the network."
In these attacks, the victim is lured into clicking on a booby-trapped file that masquerades as a legitimate executable, thereby activating a chain of malicious actions, starting with a dropper that establishes a foothold, followed by executing the SNOWYDRIVE implant.

Hackers Exploit Windows Policy Loophole to Forge Kernel-Mode Driver Signatures
"Actors are leveraging multiple open-source tools that alter the signing date of kernel mode drivers to load malicious and unverified drivers signed with expired certificates," Cisco Talos said in an exhaustive two-part report shared with The Hacker News. "This is a major threat, as access to the kernel provides complete access to a system, and therefore total compromise."

Warning about translation bureaus: Currently there is a scam where unethical translation bureaus are running books through Google and then offering them to native speakers for proofreading at a small cost of say 100 rubles a page and presenting them as translations done by native speakers at costs at about 1 000 rubles a page. The problem is that Google and other on-line translation "services" regularly make huge semantic and contextual errors in texts that only a human translator who knows both languages can understand and properly translate 85% of cases where similar synonyms are possible machine translators make errors, sometimes very serious ones. The advent of AI has only made this condition worse where the AI will re-write entire sections due to the wrong synonym being used. For the fraudsters this will come back to haunt them but the customers are left with then having to have their work translated again. Another scam is being carried out usually by members of the scientific community who claim to write research papers in English and merely need to have them proofread when in fact they simply ran their paper through Google and seek to obtain a translation in perfect English for the price of proofreading which is of course much much cheaper.

There are too many nuances involved in properly translating books (other than those that are perhaps of a strictly dry technical nature) and the historical significance in some cases can not be quantified not to mention that actual meanings and subtexts which the author intended to communicate but which are then lost are never in fact actualized. Actual meaning (with its associated connotations, subtexts, cultural and contextual nuances and shades of the true communicated truth of the words at hand) in significance and importance is of course first and foremost when quantifying the importance of the aspects of translations, and it is important to underline that in this case only someone with an educated level of native (or near-native) fluency is qualified to even attempt to carry out such an endeavor. However, meaning is by far not the only factor involved in translating books, with every genre also having its own specificities, but before I continue I would like to touch upon an aspect which is connected with meaning which only a native speaker is qualified to assess, determine and carry out in real time and that is connotation, which I have never seen a non-native speaker capable of correctly determining in all cases. The English language, in particular, is rich in synonyms (perhaps too much so) and every translator knows that from one seemingly benign word there can be dozens of synonyms each with its own shades of meaning, context and connotation and this is where the native speaker reigns supreme for the simple fact that even for the most qualified and experienced non-native translator or interpreter choosing the right synonym when attempting to translate into English can be a daunting if not impossible task requiring at minimum checking in a dictionary and even then with connotations having cultural and popular influences which change with the times shading their meaning, the proper selection is evasive.
