The decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol PancakeSwap, announces the launch of its third version for the first week of April. The latter should bring its share of new features, in particular an overhaul of the interface, but also of returns and of the cash deposit system. Although PancakeSwap is available on the BNB Chain, Ethereum (ETH) and Aptos (APT) blockchains, V3 will only be deployed on the first of them, the Binance blockchain.

The name Silvergate has been on everyone's lips lately. This crypto bank, which had until now operated in the shadow of retail investors, its services being mainly intended for institutions and exchanges, nevertheless has a leading role in our ecosystem. At the time, when Bitcoin (BTC) and the crypto ecosystem were far from being as democratized as they are today, it was like a small revolution, and that's what allowed Silvergate to become one of the leading crypto-friendly banks of crypto exchanges in the United States until today. But Silvergate's smooth growth comes to an end in 2022. On December 6, 2022, US senators begin investigating Silvergate's role in financial transactions between FTX and Alameda Research. The senators accuse the bank of "serious failings" regarding the monitoring and reporting of suspicious activities observed between the 2 entities under the aegis of Sam Bankman-Fried. Meanwhile, Silvergate reveals that FTX deposits alone accounted for around 10% of its total assets under management when releasing a report. In January 2023, the company tries somehow to keep its head above water by stabilizing its balance sheet. As a result, the crypto bank finds itself forced to lay off 40% of its staff, a massive layoff that comes with $8 million in expenses to fund various severance and other benefits for its former employees.

Lionel Messi has backed Matchday through his venture capital fund Play Time. Other contributors include Courtside Ventures, Greylock, HackVC, Capricorn Investment Group and Horizons Ventures. The exact contribution of Lionel Messi is not known.

The current USDC drop to $0.9 has had various consequences in decentralized finance (DeFi). While the cryptocurrency ecosystem tries to take stock of the loss of USDC's dollar peg, the repercussions of this event are being felt on decentralized finance (DeFi). The first of these is that another stablecoin is suffering the drop: MakerDAO's DAI. Indeed, this decentralized stablecoin works on a debt system: investors deposit cryptocurrencies whose value gives them the right to create DAI. But since part of this collateralization is provided by USDC, the panic is mechanically reflected in this stablecoin. This is why the price of the DAI is currently following that of the USDC, namely around approximately 0.9 dollars.
