The modern Welsh name for fairies is y Tylwyth Teg, the fair folk or family. This is sometimes lengthened into y Tylwyth Teg yn y Coed, the fair family in the wood, or Tylwyth Teg y Mwn, the fair folk of the mine. They are seen dancing in moonlight nights on the velvety grass, clad in airy and flowing robes of blue, green, white, or scarlet…They are spoken of as bestowing blessings on those mortals whom they select to be thus favoured.

Mark my words this is going to be one of the most subversive and anti-Pagan movies in recent years (though Snyder will probably beat it). Defy the Gods lol. Where would Odysseus even be without Athena’s help?

Greek philosophy is the decadence of the Greek instinct: Thucydides is the great summing up, the final manifestation of that strong, severe positivism which lay in the instincts of the ancient Hellene. After all, it is courage in the face of reality that distinguishes such natures as Thucydides from Plato: Plato is a coward in the face of reality— consequently he takes refuge in the ideal: Thucydides is master of himself— consequently he is able to master life.

Iobates ordered him to kill the Chimera, believing that he would be destroyed by the beast, for it was more than a match for many, let alone one; it had the fore part of a lion, the tail of a dragon, and its third head, the middle one, was that of a goat, through which it belched fire. And it devastated the country and harried the cattle; for it was a single creature with the power of three beasts.
So Bellerophon mounted his winged steed Pegasus, offspring of Medusa and Poseidon, and soaring on high shot down the Chimera from the height.

Sport at home

It’s been more than a decade since I last went to the gym. The prices are just not worth it, especially with a long commute. But to stay in at least some shape I invested in simple exercise equipment. Not the cheapest stuff in the world, but long-term it definitely saved me a fortune. A bunch of dumbbells, a yoga mat and a barbell (I recommend a curling bar) are enough for most people. Your cat or dog can make a nice spotter. Might also install a chinning bar like I did. Expensive, but still cheaper than years of gym subscription. Get a jumping rope (they are cheap) and keep the hands a bit higher so that the rope won’t hit the floor and disturb the neighbors. Hand grippers are a great buy, as well as a power twister and chest expander.

For those into HEMA (Historical European martial arts) keep in mind that most sword drills don’t require that much space (I use a hand-and-a-half sword), so you can do those at home.

Summer Solstice is here at last!

As the sun above reaches its zenith in the North, the days are longest and the nights their shortest, let us get out there and give thanks and praise. For our revival will be like the sun, giving forth light and life to our environment and folk. Our revival will reach its zenith in due time, and when it does our new golden age will come! You, today, are paving the way to make this dream a manifest reality for those who come after you.

Praise be the Summer Solstice, and soon Pagan Revivalism will reach its summer and all our folk will bask in light once again!

Gods love you!

The name Puck was originally applied to the whole race of English fairies, and there still be few of the realm who enjoy a wider popularity than Puck, in spite of his mischievous attributes. Part of this popularity is due to the poets, especially to Shakspeare. I have alluded to the bard’s accurate knowledge of Welsh folk-lore; the subject is really one of unique interest, in view of the inaccuracy charged upon him as to the English fairyland.

But it is a mark of a gentleman to be moderate in his use of wine, not drinking too greedily, nor drinking large draughts without drawing one’s breath, after the fashion of the Thracians; but to mingle conversation with his cups, as a sort of wholesome medicine.

And in former times the possession of drinking-cups was reckoned a very honourable thing. Accordingly, Achilles had a very superb cup as a sort of heirloom…And Priam, when offering ransom for his son, amid all his most beautiful treasures especially offers a very exquisitely wrought cup. And Jupiter himself, on the occasion of the birth of Hercules, thinks a drinking-cup a gift worthy to be given to Alemena.

Since there’s a whole 2 people who liked my The Chronicles of Amber retrospective and been wondering if I’m going to return to it after dropping Blood of Amber let me adress this here. Ultimately I no longer enjoy the series. It was never high art to begin with and with Merlin Cycle the quality really went down (at least for me). The protagonist is too powerful for the story to have real stakes. It’s damn hard to kill a royal Amberite to begin with and adding Chaos magic on top of that is just such an overkill that the tension of Corwin’s adventures is just gone. Also, from what I remember the books will have even more magic later. Reminds me of a balding middle aged man buying a nice car. Magical bells and whistles are nice, but the story itself is still weaker than the first cycle. Come to think of it Zelazny was much older while writing it.

TLDR may get back to it, but that’s definitely not a priority.

No tyrant has ever come forth and said: 'You know what we're going to do with this country? Let's break it up into little pieces, and then let everybody live on their own and not mess with them.' That's not what tyrants do. Tyrants say: 'Let's unite everybody under one single idea, and then we will force them all to believe in that idea.

Cecrops the first king of Athens

He was a half-man-half-snake, but despite such monstrous appearance Cecrops is remembered as a wise ruler who brought laws to first Atheneans and taught them how to build altars and offer sacrifice.

According to Pausanias:
Cecrops was the first to name Zeus the Supreme god, and refused to sacrifice anything that had life in it, but burnt instead on the altar the national cakes which the Athenians still call pelanoi. But Lycaon brought a human baby to the altar of Lycaean Zeus, and sacrificed it, pouring out its blood upon the altar, and according to the legend immediately after the sacrifice he was changed from a man to a wolf.

A lot boils down to the growth for the sake of growth mistake easy revivalists made. Turned out that the ideology of the cancer cell leads to cancer. In our case it’s gross heresies and atheistic (perennial/monist/platonist etc) revisionism.
Most pagan communities back in the 90s didn’t even do a basic background check. I even know a hilarious case of a rodnover community infiltrated by an christian priest. The guy eventually took it down leaking all the members’ personal information. ROC was created as a brach of KGB so it’s no wonder they use such tricks, but I think some American communities have similar relationship with CIA.
