These and other examples from all over the world show that traditional Pagan perspective sees Gods as real, fully physical entities, rather than emanations or attributes of shapeless powers as some modern atheo-pagans would suggest (or ancient heretics like Greek philosophers).

And it is said that after they left the Forum they were not seen again by anyone, though great search was made for them by the man who had been left in command of the city. The next day, when those at the head of affairs received the letters from the dictator, and besides the other particulars of the battle, learned also of the appearance of the divinities, they concluded, as we may reasonably infer, that it was the same gods who had appeared in both places, and were convinced that the apparitions had been those of Castor and Pollux.

One of the things we promote here on Pagan Revivalism channel, is the importance of sacrifice. That if we are given gifts from the land, we are obliged to give back to the land. This promotes the recycling of nutrients, which in turn promotes life & all it's cycles.
This past year, we ran a test of this ancestral principle by burying animal sacrifices on a small plot, and testing it with another plot with no sacrifices as a control group. The results were fantastic, as we grew almost 300lbs of crops compared to the 45lbs in the control.
What this shows is that our most ancient ancestors & holy Gods knew more about how our world works than many folk today. They not only knew how to utilize its potential but also have a symbiotic relationship with nature for the benefit of all involved. Also, we have so many Ancestors, Gods & Goddesses associated with or who did agriculture, it only makes sense to follow their wisdom. And if they knew how to better the land, then perhaps through Pagan Revivalism, we can too!
Every family (domus) honoured its own gods, some of which went by the same name everywhere (the Lares, the genius, the Penates), while the names of others depended on particular family traditions. Thus each family honoured its own Lar (in Greek, heros), the deity that protected the land on which the family lived. As well as regular worship (on the Kalends, the Nones and the Ides of the month), the Lar received offerings at all family feasts and banquets. Up to the beginning of the common era, the Lar was addressed in the singular but, no doubt under the influence of the Lares Augusti, the plural of the word later came to be used. In their domestic shrines (lararia) set up in the communal rooms of homes, the Lares, from the beginning of the Empire on, were represented as two young men dancing and pouring wine from a horn into a patera.

Unfortunately Paganism today has the same type of women as radical left. The only difference is the garb. Bully them out and gatekeeper like your life depends on it (in a way it actually does). A healthy minority can stay, of course.

As noted in the present chapter, all previous theories reviewed above are to a certain extent of value to and useful when discussing the questions of the present study. However, some of them also involve problematic aspects. The theory of decay includes evolutionist, evaluative and derogatory elements and has in recent decades been considered obsolete in research due to these features. The two latter theories—the theory of clash and the theory of adaptation—are still advocated by scholars today. It seems as if the differences between them have to a certain extent their basis in the methods and sources that the researchers use. Historians often emphasize the conflict and violent shift supported by Old Norse sources, while archaeologists often emphasize the gradual adaptation and peaceful shift supported by archaeological finds.
Olof Sundqvist
A serious problem with “the theory of decay” is that its representatives often imply derogatory, evolutionistic, and biased attitudes towards the old religion when describing it as “primitive,” “archaic,” and “dying.”
Contrary to “the theory of decay,” some scholars have argued that the old religion was strong, creative, and vibrant to the very end of its existence. However, it was perceived as a quite different type of religion compared to Christianity. Scholars have claimed that this meeting must have caused a dramatic clash between the actors. Proceeding mainly from written evidence, they state that people were conscious that they lived in a time of profound and dramatic change, and in many cases the ending of the old religion was abrupt.

And first, while they were yet in the city, the generals sent as a herald to Sparta Phidippides, an Athenian, and one, moreover, that was a runner of long distances and made that his calling. This man, as he said himself and told the Athenians, when he was in the Parthenian hills above Tegea, met with Pan; who, calling to Phidippides by name, bade him say to the Athenians, "Why is it that ye take no thought for me, that am your friend, and ere now have oft been serviceable to you, and will be so again?" This story the Athenians believed to be true, and when their state won to prosperity they founded a temple of Pan beneath the acropolis, and for that message sought the god's favour with yearly sacrifices and torch-races.

It is said that in this battle two men on horseback, far excelling in both beauty and stature those our human stock produces, and just growing their first beard, appeared to Postumius, the dictator, and to those arrayed about him, and charged at the head of the Roman horse, striking with their spears all the Latins they encountered and driving them headlong before them. And after the flight of the Latins and the capture of their camp, the battle having come to an end in the late afternoon, two youths are said to have appeared in the same manner in the Roman Forum attired in military garb, very tall and beautiful and of the same age, themselves retaining on their countenances as having come from a battle, the look of combatants, and the horses they led being all in a sweat.

Milk as a sacred drink
Ancients benefitted greatly from the domestication of different animals. Horses were used for war, while bulls and cows became cattle. They produced meat and, more importantly for this topic, milk which is known for it’s nourishing properties. Also blacks and asians can’t drink it, which is the reason why some even claim that dairy is racist.
These facts lead me to using milk in my libations. Of course, water and spirits are appropriate too.
Mistakes of early revival
Mistake #2 casting a wide net
It’s obvious by now that Pagansphere has a problem with gatekeeping. Not keeping non-Pagans out of the club early on was justified by small numbers we’d have otherwise, but look what we ended up with. For some it was always a matter of money. Most organizations are like that. Guess it’s hard to turn people down when they give you cash each month. There’s also a lot of leftists using the term. Bored housewives with crystals and cards. Homos who can’t read the ancient laws ect. There’s some pushback, but the media will always be on their side so I don’t see much sense in wasting hours on debates. A post here and there is enough.

Abraham was commanded to sacrifice his son and almost did, but yhwh stopped him at the very end. Some christians see it as an example of abrahamic religions being morally superior. Remind those golems of that time Agamemnon almost sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia, but Artemis interfered.

Over this past year, there has been a battle between 2 slogans on the political right: "race over religion" vs "religion over race." Both of these slogans have inherent flaws & it's a false dialectic in relation to ancestral faiths.
"Race over Religion"
Benefit: Prioritizes healthy family & community building for the survival & welfare of the folk.
Flaw: Often used to make religious beliefs, customs & duties not taken seriously; inso doing, disconnecting us from the spiritual like atheism.
"Religion over Race"
Benefit: Prioritizes healthy relationships with the Gods & promotes purpose & spiritual fulfillment.
Flaw: Often used by people who don't take race seriously; inso doing, leading to a multicult (one race human race) style mentality like christianity.
Ethno-Religion is the Solution
Inbetween these 2 slogans lays the actual answer, ethno-religion. It prioritizes the Gods & Folk, for both are interconnected. It is very exclusive, but it's also why Paganism lasted for so long & why it's reviving today!
Happy birthday to S.Yakutovich, a great folk artist who would have turned 73 today.

“The theory of adaptation,” including the ideas of syncretism and continuation, could be seen as a variant of the first theory, since it emphasizes a gradual, smooth, slow and conflict-free process, but it does not emphasize internal dissolution to the extent of the former theory. Instead, scholars state that the practitioners of the old religion were tolerant and had a great ability to adopt new religious elements. Scholars working with this theory have thus argued that Christian ideas and practices slowly seeped into the Old Norse religion.
Olof Sundqvist
The historian of religions and Bishop, Helge Ljungberg, discussed the question of whether “the irreligious people” mentioned in the Old Norse sources as goðlausir (derived from the adjective goðlauss, “godless”), and trusting solely in their own might and strength (trúa á mátt sinn ok megin), were a sign of an internal decay of the old religion during the Viking Age.
