🗓 On November 20, Embassies of Armenia 🇦🇲, Belarus 🇧🇾, Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 and the Russian Permanent Mission to ASEAN 🇷🇺 jointly organized a Food Festival at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta. The event, held as part of the EAEU Days at the ASEAN Secretariat, aimed to highlight the rich and diverse national cuisines of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States.
🔹️The Food Festival was a significant component of the commemoration of the 5th Anniversary of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between #ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Commission (#EEC).
🔹️The festival brought together Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, and staff of the ASEAN Secretariat, alongside representatives from ASEAN Member States Missions and diplomatic corps in Jakarta.
🍽 🍗🤝Attendees had the unique opportunity to indulge in a culinary journey, sampling traditional dishes from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia. The festival not only showcased the gastronomic delights of the EAEU nations but also served as a platform for building connections and promoting mutual understanding.

🗓 On November 20, Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (#EEC) Sergey Glaziev and Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn held a meeting as part of the EAEU Days in the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta 🇮🇩 to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between #ASEAN and the EEC.
🔹️Diplomats discussed further development of economic cooperation to promote trade and investment, digital transformation, and sustainability in ASEAN and Eurasian Economic Union.
🔹️Ambassadors and senior diplomats of the EAEU Member States based in Jakarta, as well as representatives of the Russian Government, the EEC and the Russia-ASEAN Business Council also took part in the meeting.
🗓 On November 16, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Fomin 🇷🇺 headed Russian delegation at the 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) in Jakarta, Indonesia 🇮🇩.
💬 All these years the Russian Ministry of Defence has been actively engaged in the ADMM-Plus process and continues to contribute to strengthening our common security. Russia supports all positive initiatives put forward by other partners in all spheres of military cooperation.

📢 On 14 November 2018 ASEAN-Russia relations were elevated to a Strategic Partnership. In his article "ASEAN-Russia: Strengthening ties and exploring new horizons" Russian Ambassador to ASEAN H.E. Mr. Evgeny Zagaynov 🇷🇺 sums up the progress achieved throughout these 5 years.
💬 The platform of our Strategic Partnership has opened new wider opportunities for developing stronger, deeper and mutually beneficial relations and building a peaceful, stable, prosperous and integrated region. This July, the foreign ministers of ASEAN Member States and Russia noted the significant contribution of the ASEAN-Russia relations to the ASEAN integration and community-building process.
🔹️New avenues of collaboration, such as the Consultations of the High Representatives for Security Issues and Dialogue on ICT Security-Related Issues, have become important channels of communication, facilitating cooperation on contemporary security matters. In 2021, we held the first-ever ASEAN-Russia naval exercise. In 2022, the consultations on tourism were elevated to the ministerial level and earlier this year we convened the inaugural ASEAN-Russia Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation. Russia's expertise in digitalization, robotics, quantum technologies and artificial intelligence was shared with ASEAN partners during the ASEAN-Russia Year of Scientific and Technical Cooperation in 2022.
🔹️Since 2018, Russia has tripled its investment in the region, showcasing the growing economic ties. Collaborative projects in such areas as supply chain resilience, digital economy, sustainable development and creative economy are being carried out.
🔹️Given the growing energy demand in Southeast Asia, there is an immense potential for collaboration in this field, including clean energy technologies, nuclear energy and alternative energy sources.
🔹️We successfully continue to implement various educational and personnel-training projects for ASEAN, nurturing expertise and fostering cultural understanding, including programs for law-enforcement experts, epidemiologists, tour operators and other.
🔻Today is also another important anniversary, five years ago, the Memorandum of Understanding between ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Commission was signed. Developing closer economic interaction between #ASEAN and the #EAEU holds potential for a synergy that can contribute to sustainable development in Asia and provides outstanding opportunities for member states of both organizations. To explore and promote them the EAEU Days will be held at the ASEAN Secretariat next week.

🗓 On November 3, an exhibition "5 Years of ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership: Achievements and Prospects" was opened at the #ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta 🇮🇩.
🔹 Ambassador of the Russian Federation to ASEAN H.E. Mr. Evgeny Zagaynov 🇷🇺, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Cambodia to ASEAN H.E. 🚩 The dialogue relations between the Russian Federation and ASEAN were elevated to the Strategic Partnership at the ASEAN-Russia Summit in Singapore 🇸🇬 in 2018. As pointed out in the Joint Statement of ASEAN and Russia Foreign Ministers on the Occasion of the 5th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership adopted in July 2023, ASEAN-Russia relations have significantly contributed to the ASEAN integration and community building process across the three pillars in political-security, economic and socio-cultural spheres.

💬 The Russian Federation has introduced the topic of international information security to the agenda of the UN and other multilateral and regional organizations. We have been constantly working to elaborate norms of international law and the application of norms of international law regarding to information security.
🌐 We believe that in our work within the framework of the ad hoc committee, we need to assign the greater role to the countries of Africa, Middle East, developing countries, our CIS partners that have often been suffering from the illegal use of ICTs.
• Humanity is objectively entering a digital space. There are a lot of stereotypes and mechanisms of cooperation between states that already exist there, and we see that digital crime is not just illegal, but it's also bringing in a lot of money.
From answers to questions:
☝️ Russia supports the unconditional sovereignty of a state over its information space.
• On our territory, foreign companies and foreign manufacturers should comply with the national legislation.
• We are witnessing that ICTs are being used to spread fake and misleading information, for criminal purposes, which might lead to growing lack of trust between people and states, which might lead into direct confrontation and conflicts between them.
• Fake information is used first and foremost in order to radicalize the mood of the society and turn people against each other. <...> The spread of that information is harmful to efforts not just in information security, but in efforts to ensure peace.
• Information security should be ensured through the cooperation of states at the international level.
📈 The damage every year from criminals only in the European states is over five and a half trillion euros. That is the yearly damage, and it keeps growing every year.

🗓 On October 16-19, delegation led by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation in the Field of Information Security, Director of the Department of International Information Security of the Russian MFA H.E. Mr. Artur Lyukmanov 🇷🇺 took part in the 8th Singapore International Cyber Week (#SICW).
🔹️Russia consistently promotes dialogue and cooperation in the #ICT domain, advocates for unified negotiation track on international information security issues under the UN auspices after 2025. Russia firmly supports the efforts of the OEWG under the able chairmanship of Singapore PR to the UN H.E. Burhan Gafoor 🇸🇬 and Ad-Hoc Committee to elaborate a comprehensive international convention on combating the use of ICTs for criminal purposes.
🔹️ Russia is eager to build up engagement with #ASEAN Member States with a special emphasis on capacity building in combating the use of ICTs for criminal purposes. On the sidelines of the SICW the Russian delegation held bilateral meetings with Laos 🇱🇦, Malaysia 🇲🇾, the Philippines 🇵🇭, Vietnam 🇻🇳, Thailand 🇹🇭, Brunei 🇧🇳 and Singapore 🇸🇬 to discuss issues of common concern.
🗓 On October 18, St. Petersburg 🇷🇺 hosted the Conference "Smart City. Russia-ASEAN Digital Space". The event was aimed at exchanging views and best practices on the development of smart cities in Russia and #ASEAN Member States, as well as discussing prospects for further deepening ASEAN-Russia cooperation in the field of digitalization.
The current Chair of the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (#ASCN), Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Safrizal ZA 🇮🇩 addressed the meeting with his opening remarks. We are witnessing the emergence of a new and fairer multipolar order that reflects the world’s cultural and civilisational diversity. The future world is taking shape in the midst of a battle. The global majority, representing 85 percent of the world's population, advocates a more equitable distribution of global resources and respect of cultural diversity, as well as consistent democratisation of international affairs. On the other hand, a select group of Western nations led by the US is endeavouring to hinder progress through neo-colonial methods and to maintain its waning dominance. <....>

🔸 One can’t help but get the strong impression that the US and its subservient “Western team” have decided to impart a global dimension to the Monroe Doctrine.
🔸 Western ruling elites, in violation of the UN Charter, are telling other countries who they should maintain relations with and how.

🗓 On June 28, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with the Ambassadors of the #GlobalMajority countries, members of the #G20: Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Türkiye.
Current issues on the forum agenda for the Indian presidency was discussed. Special attention was paid to the preparation and holding of the G20 summit in New Delhi on September 9-10, 2023.
The participants of the meeting also emphasised the need to depoliticise the negotiations process and activity of this association, as well as to focus its discussions on the social and economic challenges and needs of the Global South.
Among the key areas of efforts are the democratisation of global management and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The importance of boosting the role of the dynamically developing economies in trade, industrial and financial institutions was also noted.
Russia confirmed its support of the Indian presidency in the G20 and analysed the destructive impact of the illegitimate sanctions on international development prospects, as well as on food and energy security.
The Minister shared his view of the Western states’ pressure on the developing countries in the attempts to involve them in certain formats “of mutual interest,” reckless plans of global settlement according to Western templates, boosting the delivery of weapons to the Kiev regime, extending the armed conflict in Ukraine and isolating Russia.
