Some of what we've done is leading. For example agent-to-agent communication is certainly leading. Some of what we've done is catching up and some of what we've done is in the middle. That's part of development. The leading position is contested that being said we're in the race and we're gearing up.

Yeah, I was quite surprised to see that some GitHub archives of OpenCog/Hyperon date back years before FET/AGIX was launched. Crypto was just a vehicle to ride with these ideas))
Now, where I disagree is that the role of LLMs is trivial. In my view it's not - cause any disruptive innovation paves its way through interim phases and interim products - quite often those ones for vulgar and trivial commercial services.
LLMs are a great example - as powerful as they already are, they have become the gateway for unlimited money and top tier human capital to rush into the AI race and advance it to new heights.
From this viewpoint, releasing ASI1 was a necessity for FET/ASI)
Sounds incredible! "teasing AI" info like your reply here, is what is currently required to get more attention to the project from my point of view. In this swamped AI market nowadays, the project currently looks somewhat more like "just catching up" on LLM & Agents technology which most investors feel probably like that it's going to be impossible vs Big Tech due to obviously much more limited resources. youre quite right - although i would add, some of our team have been working on these technologies for many years longer than just five… the very first versions of opencog (which you will likely have seen referred to as hyperon) actually started about 17 years ago

Yes, openAI and the like have billions, and are moving at a break neck pace - but these LLMs they make, are really just the incredibly impressive evolution of T9 predictive text messaging from your old Nokia phone ((yes thats a massive over simplification)) - We have created entirely new programming languages, communication protocols, knowledge frameworks, blockchains, and a load of other stuff i struggle to describe easily - you may be surprised by who is truly ahead in this race

on that point, you are quite right - part of the team is deep in a website overhaul right now (youll see the first substantial update, of a series of updates, within a week or so) - and part of that is going deeper into all the technologies and products that are being developed
Once thats done, we will shift to educational content and start resolving the issue you pointed out - it is agreed internally that much more needs to be done for those who dont spend time researching as you do
And yes, the product strat running in parallel, well, youll see Bens new roadmap soon

There will be a series of such hackathons throughout India over the year.... a few MeTTa gurus from the iCog Labs / SingularityNET team in Addis Ababa Ethiopia have gone over to India to help provide the HackIndia students with MeTTa guidance
MeTTa is not only the core language of our Hyperon AGI platform, it will also be the smart contract language of our new ASI Chain layer 1 blockchain to be launched in testnet form very soon and in mainnet form over the summer... So spreading MeTTa throughout the geeks of the globe is a big step toward more developer traction for ASI...

The ASI team has many stubborn individuals who always resist even the simplest tasks. A ticker change has turned into a constant debate, and including fet$/asi$ in the roadmap, which is not a big deal, has become an issue...
When there is resistance to simple tasks, it creates a sense in the community that if they can't handle small tasks, how can they accomplish bigger ones?
ASI/FET isn't the only project to face this issue - they actually have their 'mental twins' - Ilya Sutskever and his Safe Superintelligence (SSI) Inc. A company with an estimated market cap of 20 bln USD - and not even a draft prototype of a product))
Is he a scammer? Nope, he's an extraordinary and immensely competent AI scientist. It's just that their vision is so far-reaching that it can't be translated into ready-made products yet.
The only difference is time - FET had quite a handicap by starting 5-6 years before. Time is the most precious and scarce resource in this race.
That sounds amazing. As currently, to understand this project and especially Snet, you need to put in the work and dig deep. A better website and more education for the broader community would help a lot and improve sentiment. Sounds exciting!

People will believe it once they see more products rolled out. I truly believe in everything Ben is doing, and I sometimes also get frustrated not seeing enough clarity. I spend a lot of time reading about all of Ben's work and AI in general, so without doing that work, which 90% do not, I can totally understand most people do not see the true vision and just see some empty words (I don't say they are empty; they just look like it without any product). So, once products start to roll out, people will start seeing the vision and what's coming with Hyperon. Keep on building! Keep on launching!
