A reasonable estimate is that ASI expected to burn a total of 18M FET tokens in April and July combined. The ASI team just wants people to stop talking about it though.

Do you think a true superintelligence would naturally leans toward benevolence?
I think that way sometimes but I have serious doubts about what's that even means.
We dig a hole in the ground to plant a tree and who knows how many insects we kill.
What's gonna protect us from being those insects in it's logic even though it's benevolent.
I can think of endless scenarios where wiping humans out makes perfect sense and is justifiable from a broader perspective.
You are one of the most optimistic voices in the field, and I wonder,
What do you think will prevent us from ended up in a p-doom scenerio whether it is purely from competitive reasons or scenerios caused by side effects of it's objectives and utility?
Do you also work on alignment or you believe an evolving and adapting system that defines its own goals and values is more valuable and beneficial?
If you think we need some form of guardrails, how do we even scale it fast enough to keep up development especially once it starts to self improve?
People already thinking the only way to keep our integrity, control and relevance, will be merging with ai.
Those who don't will be like domestic animals in such world.
And what gives me chills is to have bunch of oligarchs or politician with an ape brain plugged into a into a super computer in order to control ASI
Honestly I don’t care if we eventually merge with AI in 300 years. Evolve or transcend whatever.
I just don’t want that future forced on us prematurely. And right now it feels like it will. Because I don't see any other way to make sure we are not expandable like insects.

Well, we have to make some assumptions given how little the ASI team is sharing on the topic(ASI is sharing absolutely nothing). ASI estimated that around 35M would be burned in the first year. The first burn was 5M FET in January. That leaves an estimated 30M to burn in the remaining three quarters. Assuming the burn would increase every quarter, I used a rough guess of burning 8M, 10M, and 12M in those three quarters. It’s a complete guess based on some simple assumptions, but provides a reasonable estimate for discussion. People should be asking every day why ASI has broken their promise to burn millions of tokens, without any reasoning being provided to the community. You’ve used it as a way to convince people to buy tokens and then not done it.
