Its probably the first time anything like this has been done in blockchain, and so it will be confusing yes - people will learn, and likely more projects will start doing similar things

it was never merged into a single entity, it was merged into a single token, each project retains its autonomy, however through token alignment, they are all incentivized to push towards shared goals - so far this has been very effective, with daily meetings and nonstop work between the 4 teams - it does not mean those teams are required to stop doing their own things too

For some of us, yes. As far as we know, fetch ocean and agix merged into a single entity. So, we (and others) belive that something posted by one ex entity is made under the ASi one. Would we need from now on, to ask if something done by one entity is done by themseves or by ASi?
