Muhurtas: (Do Ghati Muhurtha)
There are two kind of Muhurtas Daily Muhurtas and Specific Muhurtas.
Daily Muhurtas can be categorised as
A.Ghatika Muhurta: Like Bhargava Muhurta and Brihaspati muhurta having a span of 24minites
B.Yamardha Muhurta: Like Kaal Vela, Vara Vela, Yamaghanta , kulika kalaratri having 1/8 part of day and night time
C.Dwighatika Muhurta: Jyotisshgranthhoktha muhurta , puranokta muhurta, Shiva proktha muhurta which has a length of 48mts
D.Chaughadia Muhurta: Which has a period of 1hr 36 mts
Do- Ghati Muhurta:
In Vedic astrology Muhurta means Do- Ghati .
Each Muhurta is of 2 Ghatis (48 Minutes) . The day and night have 15 Muhurtas each with 30 Muhurtas in total.
These Muhurta’s are ruled by the nakshatra devatas. The nature of the nakshatra devata will the significance and uses of the Muhurta.
Rishis advise even if all other Muhurta aspects are auspicious if Do- Ghati is not auspicious its not suitable not select that time for Muhurta. Doghati is more auspicious than Lagna shudhi
The most effective and auspicious Muhurta is Do -Ghati Muhurta.
Panchanga Shudi with Good Do Ghati and Lagna shudhi will bring success in all endeavours
In day-to-day routines or small Muhurta just Hora and Do Ghati is sufficient. Lagna and Graha shudhi is necessary for Marriage, coronation , house related muhurta’s etc.,
Do Ghati Principles:
Use the auspicious Nakshatras and leave out the inauspicious nakshatras
Use the nakshatra which have a synergy with the event
E.g.: For all Important Manglik activities like Marriage, house warming coronation use the Fixed nakshatras, travel related use Movable nakshatras, Short nakshatras for medicine and treatment related and Sweet nakshatras for auspicious works
One can use Tarbala for Doghati i.e., Avoid 1st 3rd 5th 7th nakshatras from Janma nakshatra and only use 2nd 3rd 4th 6th 8th 9th nakshatras
Functional Benefics in any nakshatra will make the nakshatra auspicious and good results will prevail
Functional Malefics in any nakshatra will make the nakshatra inauspicious and challenging results will prevail
Nakshatra Lords position in birth chart and transit is taken for judging the Nakshatra quality
In Transit Benefics in a nakshatra can make a nakshatra auspicious and a malefic in nakshatra inauspicious
Summary:
Nakshatra nature, Adidevatha nature, Tarabala, Natal and Transit planetary position must be checked to use Do Ghati
In Satpatha Brahmana the ruling deities are
Day Deities:
Rudra, Ahi, Mitra, Pitar, Vasu, Varaha, Viswadeva, Vidhi, Sutamukhi, Puruhutha, Vahini, Naktanakara, Varuna, Aryaman ,Bhaga
Night Deities:
Girisha, Ajapada, Ahirbudhanya, Pusya, Aswini, Yama, Agni, Vidhatar, Kanda, Aditi, Amritha, Visnu, Dyumagadyuti, Brahma, Samudram
7 nakshatra devatas before Abhijit and these are called the first prahara
20 Nakshatra after Abhijit constituted 20 Muhurthas. This way 28 Nakshatra's constitute 28 Muhurthas. rest 2 Muhurthas are devoted to the creator and these are called as Brahma Muhurthas. The Brahma Muhurtha starts approximately at 4.12am to 5.12am if the Sunrise and Sunset were at 6am and 6pm
Note:The Brahma Muhurta and Abijith Muhurtha are from Do Ghati Muhurtha.
Ramayana and Mahabharata we can see use of only Do Ghati Muhurtha.
Rama is born in day Abijith
Krishna is born at night Abijith
Brahma Muhurat: Surya doghati or the puranic name is Hari in Astrosage it's given as Vaikuntha
In the Ramayana Rama tells Sugriva we will attack in Abijith Muhurtha then we will win the war with Ravana.
The Ram temple consecration was chosen on Abijith Muhurtha.
