Of course to use 3 sticks of ram it's nonsense. I just say, that at this moment it can be biggest amount of RAM with two sticks (2x48 GB), because 4 sticks will drop down speed of memory, and even that 96 GB will be more than enough for most users next fallowing 3-5 years. Officially 7950x has max memory 128 GB 2xDDR5-5200 or 4xDDR5-3600. But as we know it easy goes more than 5200 speed with two sticks. And if you type in Google search for example "7950x 192gb ram" you will find many of proofs how people running 192gb (4x48GB) on 7950x even with speed 4800 and it's stable and no need to use any special abilities or additional hardware...

Gaussian splat rendering coming to vray 7!!
Vray 7 Beta under testing
was talking about Matt painting in ArchViz.
Not corona or other renderer.
For Archviz, I don't know.. maybe huge studios use them. But im not sure...
Читать полностью…Okay, thank you.
Any experience on matt painting ?
Is it worth the learning for Archviz / investing time in making corona end product better should be the choice ?
Also, 2*32 is cheaper than 2*24. Mainly cz 32*2 kits are common and sold more.
Читать полностью…one more thing, not in much favor of this
But how do you feel about the G skill ripjaws 24GB x 4 5200mhz ddr5 ?
Do you think this 96GB would now be worth ?
For UE, i think a bigger GPU VRAM is more beneficial now..
Saturating 64GB itself is pretty hard. Unless you are Rendering huge blocks of buildings..
I'm not saying wait 3 years to upgrade RAM get it after 6 months or so after working on some projects... You can upgrade, change RAM, it's cheap. But you don't upgrade GPU every now and then right.
I just looked it up on Google and reddit. It was an issue with 4x16 or 2x32.. people said go with 6000 cl30 2x32 for now.
I just think we need to check present motherboard support page.
Damn. Never came accross that.. I built 3 PC's in last 2 months, and when you search for DDR5 RAM the first that comes up is DDR5 6000...
even most base 650M motherboards list speeds support of 7800+ speeds now.
Apparently it doesn't go beyond 3600 if 4 planks used. I was also surprised 🤷🏽♂
I think someone managed 4800
That can be considered if he/she wants to future proof.
Right now 7950X supports 128GB Max.
If they use 64 GB in dual channel, then can upgrade to 128 GB in dual channel after some time.
If they use 96GB in dual channel, then they have to add third 32GB stick and that is mismatched RAM.
and running 3 slots with mismatched RAM isn't great.
9950X supports 192GB. So, If he/she is gonna keep 96GB for now, with 7950x and and then upgrade to later gen and upgrade to 192GB. Then it will be good choice.
I think the next or the 2nd coming generation will eventually support 256GB RAM too.
Bah it depends on who's hiring you. All software are sort of the same, just the naming changes. If you know already one (and properly use your informatic devices), learning another one whenever requested shouldn't be too difficult
Читать полностью…oh no, I am not planning to stick to archviz only.
Читать полностью…Nope... But i think there is no harm in learning a skill. Maybe you can pursue opportunities in gaming industry or film industry in future with those skills.
Читать полностью…These are the RAM support for MSI Tomahawk x670E
• 2DPC 1R Max speed up to 6400+ MHz
• 2DPC 2R Max speed up to 5400+ MHz
you just have to check the if the RAM is single or dual rank from RAM's website, if you get single rank/1R, then you can run upto 6400Mhz in 4 slots.
If you have huge running projects. Then, i guess it's okay.
My friend runs 128GB and uses Houdini, does intensive simulations and FX.. in the 2 years, I never saw him once using whole 128GB. The most he ever used was 80-85 gigs.
I don't think you will need that much for 3ds max. Atleast for next 6 months.
go for MSI, my RMA experience with MSI has been super smooth, and in recent times ASUS has gotten a bad rep with their shitty RMA and support service
Читать полностью…That's what I did. 2x6400. 100% stable 👍🏽
Читать полностью…True. But when using 4 sticks, it doesn't go beyond 3600. We had this problem recently with threadrippers
Читать полностью…Yes, I think I can wait,
I am mostly planning to use it for UE5 which I want to get my hands on.
Looking at brick visual and other top industries, recently have seen a lot of them using UE and the software development pace has been really good recently.
I think the walkthrough render time cut down is a lot more with a little sacrifice to quality than might be worth it.
Getting a 4090 might not be worth it compared to an extra added 32GB of RAM (Just in case a project need arises) .
3 years is a lot. you never know what awaits
Don't run in 3 channel. Run RAM in dua channel for best performance.
I think 64 is more than enough for starters... You will save another 20k..
Put that 20K and the CPU's 15K saved and add it to the GPU budget, get a 4090 itself
