Dubai will have the world's first city-wide electric air taxi service by 2026
Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed an agreement with Skyports Infrastructure and Joby Aviation to launch passenger air taxi services.
The parties will:
✓ RTA – regulate services
✓ Joby Aviation – manufacture and operate electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircrafts
✓ Skyports Infrastructure – operate vertiports (facilities for eVTOLs)
The initial network will include 4 vertiports (see image). The air taxi will reduce journey times:
