My aunt’s first B2 visa attempt was rejected a month ago, and we’re seeking advice for her second interview, which is scheduled next week in Hyderabad.
Background Information:
• My aunt is a widow and has no children.
• She self-sponsored her first visa attempt.
• Her annual income is 8 Lakhs.
Details of the First Interview (Which Was Rejected):
1. Why are you going? – “I wanted to visit tourist places in the U.S.”
2. Who is there in the U.S.? – “My nephew.”
3. Where does your nephew stay? – “New Jersey.”
4. What does your nephew do? – “Software Engineer.”
5. Who is paying for your flight? – “Myself. I have properties and savings.”
6. What is your annual income? – “8 Lakhs.”
We’re unsure why the visa was denied. It could be due to her income, marital status, or the fact that she has no dependents.
Considering Two Options for the 2nd Attempt:
1. Nephew Sponsorship: Should I (her nephew) sponsor her visa this time?
2. Self-Sponsor Again: Should she self-sponsor and emphasize visiting for family reasons or tourism?
Which option would improve her chances of approval? Any suggestions or advice are highly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help.
