Synchronization of New Contacts

In the beta version of Telegram for Android 12.2.0, several new options are available when adding new contacts:

• The ability to add a new contact by scanning a QR code.

• An option for synchronizing the contact saved in Telegram with your device's contacts.

• The ability to leave a short note for the saved contact (only when the checkbox for synchronizing with device contacts is selected).

• Information under the phone number field that explains whether the phone number is registered on Telegram or has already been added to your contacts.

Liquid Glass-Style Interface on Android

In the beta version of Telegram for Android 12.2.0, some interface elements have been redesigned.

The new style with background blur is applied to elements such as the message input field, button panels in bots and channels, command and hashtag menus, etc.

In more recent versions of this beta, a Liquid Glass-style blur effect may appear in some interface elements. This effect can be toggled in Settings > Power Saving, and is only available on high-performance devices running Android 13 or better.

Profile And Quote Styling With Gifts

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android 12.1, collectible gifts can now be used to uniquely style your profile and replies.

The gift’s background color can tint your name. Within message blocks, the gift’s color and pattern are applied, and the model appears in the top-right corner.
Note: This feature currently doesn’t work with all gift collections.

To customize your profile using a collectible gift, go to Settings > Chat Settings > Change Name Color.

Live Broadcasts in Stories With Paid Pinned Messages

The maximum note length is 128 characters, and emojis are supported.
Comments added to a profile are visible only to you.

You cannot leave a note on the profile of a user who is not in your contact list.

Comments in Video Chat

In the Beta version of Telegram for iOS 12.1 (31369), users can now send messages and emoji reactions directly within video chats.
