According to Vastu Shastra, it is prohibited for individuals coming from outside to enter the home wearing shoes or slippers. This is opposed according to Hindu customs, as it is said that Shani Deva (Saturn) is related to our feet. The footwear worn on our feet symbolizes the malefic planets Rahu and Ketu, which means that when individuals enter the house wearing shoes or slippers, negative celestial energies also enter the home. Therefore, it is advised not to walk inside the house with slippers. If this is done, it is said that negative energy in the house will increase. 🙏💐

BHAKTI SAGAR

In his Vamana incarnation, Mahavishnu placed his third step on the head of Bali Chakravarty and pushed him into Patala. If you think Patala is some other realm, that is incorrect.

Read thoroughly to learn important historical facts that allow you to proudly declare that we are Hindustanis. If you understand correctly, share this knowledge with others.

Patala refers to present-day Peru in South America (Sutala)!

I won’t recount the entire story of Vamana Murti and Bali Chakravarty, but I will briefly narrate a proud history for Indians.

Bali Chakravarty ruled over Asia, Europe, and Africa. He was a just king, yet the gods found him threatening. Realizing the danger he posed, they appealed to Mahavishnu, who took the Vamana avatar. He asked the demon king Bali for three steps of land, acquiring lands now known as Asia, Europe, and Africa. (Foot measurements are still used in India today.)

Since Bali could no longer reside in the lands given to him, he was sent to the dense forests of South America!

Bali wasn’t sent empty-handed; he was dispatched via sea with vast wealth and the architectural marvels of the Rakshasas #Maya, including Asuras, giants, and warriors, along with the Nagas to relay information about his movements, akin to today’s RAW agents.

This route from eastern India to present-day Peru (Sutala) was the most direct! Look at my images or an atlas.

When we mention Patala, we think of going beneath the sea (meaning across the ocean). If someone refers to another Patala, it’s indicated as beneath the earth. This means if someone digs a hole in India, it would theoretically reach South America. Anyone eager to try, please do and let me know. It’s not a lie, my friend.

In recognition of Bali Chakravarty's generosity, Mahavishnu permitted Baliendra to hunt in Bharatavarsha once each year. Today, the grandeur of the Onam festival is celebrated for ten days in Kerala. During this time, boat races commemorate Bali's sea voyage. After worshiping in the temple built for Bali in Kakkannadu near Kochi, the Onam festivities begin.

Key points to note:
Bali's close associate was Maya, a supreme architect, and the civilization named after him constructed regions like Atula and Talatala, building Ashmangara for Bali. The ruins of these remain.
The Asura sage Aashtik is believed to have started the Aztec civilization.
The Nagas contributed to the Incan Empire, and their descendants can still be found across North and South America.
Indigenous people in many South American countries share notable physical traits and complexions with Indians.
There are significant cultural parallels among the Maya, Aztec, and Inca traditions with Indian customs, such as nature worship and various rituals.

(There’s much more; I’ll write again.)

The history that highlights how Indians migrated globally and established various civilizations has been overlooked, with many mistakenly accepting the misinformation from self-proclaimed great scholars like Max Müller. These scholars learned Sanskrit to cater to the British and wrote history favoring them. Recently, many authentic historical texts have emerged from research.

The events spanning 1851 to 2159 million years ago in this region have evolved into the puranas we recount. However, when scrutinized scientifically, many of these narratives reveal historical truths, requiring an open mindset for understanding.

Another point is that those who complain about Mahavishnu wronging Bali Chakravarty overlook that as Bali grew powerful and engaged in sinful acts, the gods were unable to manage him. Consequently, Mahavishnu had to take the Vamana avatar.

Mahavishnu did not take Bali Chakravarty's life but rather relocated him to honor his love, granting him eternal life and stating he would remain one of the seven immortal beings in the world.

(These seven immortal beings include Ashwatthama, Bali, Vyasa, Hanuman, and others like Parashurama).

It’s essential not to view the act of sending Bali Chakravarty to South America, along with wealth and architectural legacies, as unfair.

Surrender

It was during the time of Rama's reign. On that day, Rama ordered that the palace be emptied for a Yajna. He instructed that all the Brahmins and Rishis could take whatever they wanted from the palace. Everyone arrived, taking whatever they desired – household items, valuable gold and silver ornaments, decorative items adorned with pearls and gems, seats, cows, horses, rare collections, and much more. Rama observed everything and everyone. Finally, an elderly woman approached.

Rama wondered what this aged mother could want as she came closer. Without looking at any items or possessions, she went directly to Rama. Seeing her coming, Rama instructed Lakshmana to offer her whatever she desired. The old woman came near him, and Rama asked, "Mother, what do you need? Please tell me, and I will give it to you." The old lady replied, "O Lord, when You, the master of the universe, are present, what more do I need? I do not desire anything else; being with You is my only wish." Sitting near Rama, she said this. Rama lifted her up and said, "Mother, from now on, you will always be with me." She was embraced by Rama. When the master of the universe is present, what else is needed? The mother settled in Rama's proximity.

Once, Maha Vishnu also commanded that Vaikuntha be emptied for a Yajna. He instructed the Rishis and Brahmins that they could come and take anything they wanted from Vaikuntha. Soon, the Rishis and Brahmins arrived, taking valuable gems, ornaments that adorned the throne, silver and gold worship items, clothes, decorative materials, yellow cloths, cows, and almost everything – even the doors and frames. However, Atri Rishi did not come. When Maha Vishnu noticed that the Atri Rishis had not arrived, and he inquired, the gatekeepers said that they were still engaged in their rituals and would come after they completed their duties.

At that moment, dusk was approaching, and Atri and his wife came having completed their rituals. They found Vaikuntha completely empty. Maha Vishnu called them and said, "O great sages, you have come very late, and I have nothing to give you." The sages replied, "Why do you say there is nothing? You are the master of the universe!" Maha Vishnu smiled and said, "I will offer you something." He himself became the gift to them. Later, Atri and Anasuya were blessed with a son, Dattatreya.

This is what surrender means. Instead of running after possessions, wealth, power, and material riches, if one surrenders to the Lord, what more is needed? He guides us and takes us to Vaikuntha.

Shri Bhagavan's Words:

*Ananyāś cintayanto māṁ
ye janāḥ paryupāsate
teṣāṁ nityābhiyuktānāṁ
yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham*!!

(Translation of the quote: "To those who are constantly devoted and who worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.")

A king announced that he would give half his kingdom to whoever understood the Bhagavad Gita. Hearing this, many Pandits came to teach the King the Gita. But fearing a couple of questions from the king, he returned.

A great scholar came and answered the king's questions and taught him the Gita. The king appreciated his learning and honored him with Dakshina. But half the kingdom did not give.

Pandit persisted. The king slipped that he did not understand the song properly. Pandit did not leave. Finally, he was taken to Muni in Tapovan, Vindhyachal.

The sages asked, "Is it true that you have taught the King the Gita?" He questioned. Pandit said that I have explained all the different meanings of the Prakriti suffix of each word. When questioned by the king, he agreed. Then the sages said, You did not teach, the king did not learn it. If you know the song, why are you greedy for the state? He said, "If you have understood the royal song, why are you hesitant to keep your word?"

He said, "If the tongue is not pure in the heart, then what is the song learned?" Both returned shy.

Kadalai Anand Kumar, a young gentleman originally from Visakhapatnam and now settled in Bangalore as an IT professional, went to a remote village for a visit seven years ago. There, he encountered a government school. During the morning assembly, all the boys were standing, but suddenly, four or five boys collapsed. As those around them helped, it was discovered that these boys had come to school on empty stomachs due to the poor financial condition of their families.

Anand Kumar was deeply moved by this and could not hold back his emotions. He spoke to the school authorities, saying, “From now on, I will arrange for a meal for these boys once a week.” This initiative, which began with providing meals, soon gained support from many others, and the service expanded to six days a week. Over time, the service spread to neighboring schools, districts, and even to Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, and West Bengal! A trust called ‘Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust’ was established. With the help of volunteers and local people, the initiative flourished. Today, more than 1500 schools are benefiting from this service. In addition to providing meals, the trust has expanded its activities to include constructing toilets in schools, providing scholarships for poor students, and setting up drinking water facilities.

Anand Kumar had participated in various service activities organized by the Sathya Sai Seva Samiti in his childhood around Visakhapatnam, which nurtured his passion for service.

Doesn’t the above example serve as a good testament to the idea that as the evil grows in the world, so does the rise of good, noble endeavors?

"The Significance of Salt: Rituals, Beliefs, and Cultural Wisdom"

The purpose of sprinkling salt before meals is primarily to make the food palatable and enjoyable. It is believed that salt enhances the taste of whatever is being consumed. If any dish appears bland while eating, adding salt beforehand is a common practice to improve its flavor. Another reason could be that washing hands with salt after a meal can help remove any residue and ensure cleanliness.

There are proverbs associated with the debt of salt. One such saying goes that in a household that serves salt, one should not forget the one who has salted the food, and another advises not to show ingratitude to the one who prepared and served the meal. This reflects the philosophy of remembering those who provide hospitality and not causing them any harm or disrespect.

On a metaphorical level, there's a notion that throwing away salt, or wasting it, increases the burden of debt. In general, it is discouraged to waste salt in households.

The remaining beliefs are left to individual faith and discretion. They are not to be easily dismissed as mere superstition, nor should they be entirely ignored.

*Significance of Ganga water:*
Hindus worship Ganga as their mother. According to Hindu scriptures, it is said that touching the water of Ganges will cure all his sins and all his pains and will increase the positive energy in the person. According to science, drinking Ganga water or bathing in it also cures diseases.

Religious significance of Ganga water;
Ganga is the one who came down from the heaven to the earth as a result of King Bhagirath's severe penance. Bathing in the river Ganges will wash away sins. It is said that if bathing in Ganges is not possible, Ganga water can be added to bath water at home. 10 types of sins are cured by bathing in Ganga water. In Puranas, people used to get up early in the morning and sprinkle Ganga water in the house to get God's blessings. Sprinkling Ganga water in the house removes negative energy and Vastu Dosha.

Quarrels and grievances at home will be complained of;

Kamala went to invite Suradasa, thinking along the way, "How is it possible to chant Ramnama and heal people? I circumambulated three times, prayed with Ganga water, and chanted Ramnama. Then the dead rose." When he reached Suradasa's cottage and explained the purpose of his visit, Suradasa interrupted, "Son, run quickly. Someone is being washed away by the flood in the river behind the mound. Save him."

Kamala rushed to the mound and saw a young man being carried away by the river. Kamala jumped into the river, rescued him, and carried him on his back toward Suradasa's cottage. As he went, he wondered, "Suradasa is blind. How did he know about the boy being washed away?"

His mind was racing. The boy was laid on the ground, already dead. Suradasa, already aware of this, took water in his Kamandalu and prayed "Ra" over the boy. The boy sat up and left Suradasa's side. Kamala was again amazed. He thought, "Suradasa didn't even say 'Rama' fully, just 'Ra,' and the boy survived." Then Kamala opened the paper he had been given and read it himself. He understood everything.

He returned to Kabir Das and said, "There are saints much greater than me. I am nothing before them. Guru, please don’t go anywhere. Stay here! There is much I need to learn by making my own pilgrimage." He spoke humbly.

Moral of the story: Siddhis are attained by the Guru's grace. With the Guru's blessings, the Lord himself stands with us. The Guru remains the Guru and knows every emotion of the disciple's mind. As a guide, the Guru saves the disciple from falling.

Who is Tarakasura?
Tarakasura is the son of Vajranga (Son of Kashyapa-Diti) and Varangi. He did severe penance to Brahma and pleased him and sought the boon that no one shall be more powerful than him and with the second boon was that his death could come only from a son born to Shiva. Tarakasura knew that Rudradevaru had already lost his wife Satidevi and he was in deep penance and he thought the Rudra can’t have son all of a sudden.
After getting the great boons, Taraka was killing all the kings and spoiling the hermitages of sages.

All sages, devategalu, unable to sustain the hindrance by Tarakasura, went to Brahmadevaru, who in turn sent Bruhaspati to negotiate with Tarakasura, but he refused and war was fought between Gods and demons, in which Gods were defeated.

As Shiva was in a severe penance, he was not ready to accept the pleading of Parvati for her marriage with Shiva.

Then Devategalu approached Kamaputra Manmatha, with a plan to stop the meditation of Shiva. Kamadeva arrived in front of Shiva alongwith Ratidevi, and shot five arrows of flowers at the heart of Shiva. His intention was to make Shiva look at Parvathi and enable their marriage, which in turn would result in a son for the killing of Tarakasura (as per boon).

But when Rudra devaru’s penance was broken, he was terribly angry and open his third eye on his forehead, and a fierce blazing flame came out of his third eye and Manmatha was burnt to ashes.

The spark of fiery seed of Rudradevaru was unbearable and even Agnideva could not bear them, who threw to River Ganga, wherein it was born as six children. Parvathi combined these six children to one with six faces and six Kruttikaas came forward to feed the child (each kruttika feeding six different faces of Skanda). That is why Skanda is called as Karthikeya, and as Shanmukha.

He then killed Tarakasura and helped the devategalu.

The Pinnacle of Devotion

About fifty or seventy years ago, there was a person named Dayasindhu. True to his name, he was indeed compassionate. He resided in the Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha, joyfully singing the hymns of Jagannath while performing small tasks in the temple. Everyone in the temple was familiar with him. He had no home, family, or companions. When he was hungry, he would ask for alms at someone’s house. Usually, no one would turn him away. If for some reason, no one opened the door, he wouldn’t feel upset; instead, he would smile and move on to the next house. There were times when he had no cravings and would go several days without food.

One morning, Dayasindhu stood outside someone's house, asking for a little milk, if there was any. The mistress of the house was busy working on the first floor. Since she had woken up and immediately started working, she was feeling tired. With all her chores to complete, she was in a hurry to finish cleaning the first floor before her bath. Hearing someone asking outside, she, overwhelmed with her chores, thought someone was a beggar bothering her early in the morning. Anger surged within her. As she continued cleaning, in her anger, she picked up a piece of cloth and threw it down on the beggar, who was standing below.

From below, the beggar’s voice could be heard, “Thank you, mother. What a great gift you have given to our Jagannath.” Surprised, she looked down to find out who this beggar was, only to realize it was Dayasindhu, who had already picked up the dirty cloth and left. “Oh, what have I done?” she lamented. “I did not even recognize him as Dayasindhu.”

In the evening, a grand arati was taking place at the Jagannath temple. Dayasindhu was busy preparing various offerings with a divine glow on his face, lost in ecstasy as he sang. The woman, who had thrown the dirty cloth earlier, came to the temple. Upon seeing him, she approached him, paid her respects, and sought forgiveness for the wrong she had unknowingly committed in the morning. Dayasindhu replied, “Mother, is the offering you gave me small? Look, I took the cloth you gave and took it to the sea, washed it clean, and dried it in the sun. I have made it into new offerings for today. It is thanks to your generosity that I was able to bring light to the temple, and Jagannath too has accepted it.”

Witnessing his patience, devotion, and peaceful demeanor, the woman was astounded. She bowed down to him once again.

For those on a spiritual journey, qualities like patience, endurance, faith, and unwavering calmness are essential virtues, just as exemplified by this man.

Why should we not eat without bathing?

In Hinduism, eating before bathing is considered forbidden. Bathing cleanses both the body and the mind, allowing for a clean intake of food. Consuming food without bathing is viewed as impure and can hinder spiritual attainment. Bathing also stimulates the mind and promotes proper digestion and blood circulation. Food is sacred, and eating while the body is impure is seen as a sign of disrespect. This practice benefits both our food and health, connecting us with our spirituality. It encourages us to perfect the principles of Hinduism. Therefore, it is very important to respect both the body and the food.

Thank you. 🙏

### The Marriage of Shiva and Parvati’s Son, Ganesha

Some scriptures mention Ganesha as a bachelor, while others state he was married. Attempts were made for his marriage, but whether it happened or not is known only to the scriptures. Ganesha, known for his stout figure, big belly, elephant-like ears, small eyes, and long trunk, desired marriage when he came of age. However, no girl agreed to marry him. Feeling lonely, life seemed dull to Ganesha. Observing his sadness, his mother, Parvati, consoled him, saying, “Prepare for the wedding; I will find you a beautiful bride.”

Elated, Ganesha began the preparations. The most important item for the wedding was the *mangalsutra* (sacred thread). He sent a mouse to fetch it. The mouse went to Kubera’s jewelry shop, secretly stole a *mangalsutra*, hid it in its pouch, and returned to Kailasa, proudly declaring it had brought the thread. When Ganesha asked to see it, the mouse showed its pouch, but the *mangalsutra* was missing—it had fallen somewhere on the way. Angered, Ganesha commanded the mouse to search for it. To this day, mice are seen with bowed heads, continuously searching.

For the wedding feast, sweets like *modaks* and laddoos were needed. Five-year-old children were tasked with making them. They worked diligently, their small fists shaping the sweets, and they are still making them endlessly. For wedding expenses, coins were required. Ganesha asked rats to dig into the earth to find hidden pots of coins, as burying wealth underground was an old practice. The rats have been digging ever since, but the coins remain undiscovered.

To build the wedding pavilion, bamboo poles were needed. Ganesha assigned this task to caterpillars and needles. They went to the bamboo market but got tangled in the poles and couldn’t find their way back. They are still struggling.

Despite all these preparations, invitations had to be sent to relatives and friends. Ganesha mounted his mouse and came to Earth on the fourth day of *Bhadrapada* month to invite everyone. The people on Earth offered him sweets like *modaks*, *chaklis*, and *payasam* at every house, delaying him. Since Ganesha loves food, he wouldn’t leave without eating. In some places, the invitations were completed in one day, while in others, it took three days, seven days, or even months. Ganesha’s task of inviting people stretched on, and he continued visiting homes.

Frustrated that his marriage preparations were unending, Ganesha grew angry and declared, “Until my marriage happens, no one else should get married.” He instructed the rats and moles to dig the earth whenever a wedding procession started, making it impossible for the procession to reach the venue. Wedding ceremonies came to a halt.

When Parvati learned of this, she grew worried and informed Shiva. Shiva sought Brahma’s help, and Brahma, along with Saraswati, created two daughters named Siddhi (spiritual power) and Buddhi (wisdom). Brahma brought them to Kailasa, asking Ganesha to teach them knowledge, as he surpassed even Brihaspati in wisdom. Engrossed in teaching Siddhi and Buddhi, Ganesha forgot his anger, and the rats stopped their digging. Weddings resumed as before.

Later, Brahma and Saraswati proposed the marriage of Siddhi and Buddhi to Ganesha. Ganesha agreed, and his wedding was celebrated grandly. From his union with Siddhi and Buddhi, Ganesha had two sons, Shubha (auspiciousness) and Labha (prosperity).

It is believed that those who worship Ganesha with devotion on the *Chaturthi* of *Bhadrapada* receive Siddhi and Buddhi, along with Shubha and Labha. Thus, people of all ages and communities worship Ganesha with great reverence.

Question:
*After doing darshan in the temple, why should one sit for a while on the outside seat?*

Answer:
When going to temples, it is customary to sit outside for a couple of minutes after visiting the deity and offering salutations. But while sitting we should remember the God whom we visited and recite the following verse and pray. It is made for a specific purpose. Actually people today have forgotten this verse.
The verse reads:-

*Anayasena Maranam Vinah Daynena Jivanam ||*
*Dehanta Tava Sanidhyam Dehime Parameshwara ||*

Meaning of this verse
*Anayasena Maranam* means to die without any trouble in our last days and never fall on the bed after falling ill, never to die of sorrow and end our life while we are walking.

*Vina Dainena Jeevanam*

That means never living as a parasite with anyone. A person with a stroke should not be dependent on others, or helpless. By God's grace one can live without begging.

*Dehanta Tava Sanidhyam*
That means God must be there when death comes. At the time of Bhishma's father's death, God (Krishna) was standing before him. He died seeing him.

*Dehime Parameshwara*
That means O God, give us such a boon.

* Recite the above verse while praying to God. * Do not ask for car, bungalow, boy, girl, husband, wife, house, money etc (material things), this merit will be given to you by this God according to your merit. That is why everyone should sit and pray this prayer after doing darshan. This is a prayer, not a petition. Supplication is for worldly matters. For example, asking for house, business, job, son, daughter, worldly pleasures, wealth or other things.

The word 'Prayer' means 'pra' meaning 'special', unique, good and 'arthana' meaning request. A prayer is a special request. *
Darshan of God in the temple should always be done with open eyes. Some stand there with their eyes closed. Why close our eyes? We have come to see God. Get full enjoyment of God's form, beauty from feet to face. Fill your eyes with the image of God.
* When you sit outside after darshan, then close your eyes and meditate on the form you saw.

*30-second gratitude practice*

*Gratitude* as an overall wellness practice is backed by a lot of science,
Fortunately, a morning gratitude practice can be incredibly short and sweet.

As you lay in bed, tell yourself: “I’m here. I have the blessing of a bed. I have the blessing of sleep. I’m in shelter. I’m going to hopefully have breakfast,”You can wake up and be aware of what you already have — and be present.”

It won’t change the fact that you might have a stressful day ahead of you, but it will help root you in the bigger picture.

And also Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.

Pride and Achievement:

Saint Kabir lived with his disciple, whom he addressed as "son," Kamala, in a hut outside the town. He used to bathe in the river regularly, provide water for worshiping God in all the temples in the town, and participate in bhajans until noon. In the evening, they would return to the hut. This was his routine. One day, as usual, he left the town.

The only son of a zamindar from a nearby town died that night. Cries filled the night air and reached the sky. Someone then said, "There is a baba in a hut outside the town. Take the boy to them. Maybe they can do something and save your boy."

The people prepared to go there with the boy's body. When they arrived at the hut, Kabir was not there. They wondered, "What shall we do now?" Just then, Kamala, Kabir's disciple, arrived. One of them asked, "How long until the baba can come?"

Kamala, understanding their distress, replied, "It's been a long time since I came to see God. Tell me what's going on." The people told him about the boy's death. Kamala thought, "If there were an illness, something could be done to cure it. But he is dead. What can be done now?" He decided to act calmly and asked for the boy's body to be laid facing east. The boy lay dead. Kamala circumambulated three times with water from the Kamandalu, chanted the Gangajala Ramnama, and sprinkled the corpse three times. To everyone's astonishment, the boy sat up. There was no end to the people's happiness.

Someone informed Kabir, "The zamindar of the village and the people have gathered outside your hut." Hearing this, Kabir quickly returned to the hut, suspecting something was wrong. On his way, he saw people dancing happily on the road. Unaware of the reason, he inquired with Kamala upon reaching the cottage, "What happened? What are they saying?"

Kamala replied, "Guru, you have been telling me to go on a pilgrimage for a long time. Now you can go on a pilgrimage. I will take care of everything here." Kabir asked, "What are you doing?" Kamala said, "The same as giving life to the dead and providing health to the sick. From now on, I can do this work myself. Go and take the yatra as long as you wish."

Kabir thought to himself, "Along with his achievement of siddhi, ego has appeared. He must be cured of this first, and then I will go on a pilgrimage. If a sadhaka develops ego, then their achievement will end." He said to Kamala, "I will plan a kirtan for the coming full moon and then go on a pilgrimage. Until then, give my invitations to the nearby three or four saints." With that, Kabir started writing invitations. On the paper, he wrote, "Kamal Bhaye Kaputa, Kabira Ko Kula Gaye Dooba."

Kamala took the paper to a saint. Upon reading it, the saint understood Kamal's mindset and asked, "How did you come up with the idea of organizing this bhajan?" Kamala responded arrogantly, "Nothing special. For a long time, the Guru wanted to go on a pilgrimage. Now I can handle everything. I asked him to go on a pilgrimage. He agreed and is planning to organize a kirtan before leaving."

The saint understood the meaning behind his words and asked Kamala, "Then what can you do?" Kamala replied, "The same, to revive the dead, to comfort the sick. This is my job." The saint said, "Then show your magic here this evening too." By saying this, he spread the word in the town. A queue of two to three hundred people gathered, including many sick individuals. The saint told Kamala, "Okay, then cure all these people's ailments."

Kamala was shocked by the crowd. "So many people? How can I cure so many? It's not in my hands." The saint reassured him, "No problem, some people have come. It's not right for them to return disappointed. Sit down." The saint went inside, brought water in a kamandalu, and offered it to the people in the queue while chanting Ramnama. Sick people were cured. After they left, the saint said, "Well done, Kamala. We will participate in the kirtan. Go to the nearby town and invite the saint named Suradasa. Then we'll all come together."
