A Son is given
"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
This verse is a prophecy about the coming Messiah. It reveals both His humanity ("a Child is born") and divinity ("a Son is given"). The Messiah will carry the authority to rule ("the government will be upon His shoulder") and is described with names that reflect His divine character and mission.
---
2. Interpretation:
"A Child is born, a Son is given" emphasizes the incarnation of Jesus: fully human and fully divine.
"The government will be upon His shoulder" signifies Christ's authority to rule and bring justice, contrasting with flawed human leadership.
His names—Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace—illustrate His multifaceted role in God's plan of salvation:
Wonderful: His life and works inspire awe and transcend human comprehension.
Counselor: He provides perfect guidance and wisdom.
Mighty God: He is the omnipotent and sovereign God.
Everlasting Father: He cares for His people with enduring love and protection.
Prince of Peace: He reconciles humanity to God, offering peace that surpasses understanding.
---
3. Application:
This verse calls us to embrace the Messiah's rule and reflect on His character:
Surrender: Trust in Jesus as the one who governs with perfect wisdom and justice. Allow Him to carry the "government" of your life.
Seek guidance: Look to Him as your Counselor in decisions and challenges.
Rest in His power: Know that as Mighty God, He is able to overcome every obstacle and bring victory.
Experience His love: Lean into the Everlasting Father’s care, knowing His love is eternal.
Walk in peace: Embrace the Prince of Peace, who calms our hearts and reconciles us to God and others.
---
4. Prayer:
"Lord Jesus, You are Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Thank You for coming into this world to bring light and salvation. Help me to surrender my life to Your rule and trust in Your wisdom and power. Teach me to walk in Your peace and to reflect Your love to those around me. Amen."
"Understanding the Scriptures Through Christ"
"Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures."
Luke24:45
Meditation:
This verse is part of the account where the risen Jesus appears to His disciples. After sharing the truth of His resurrection and demonstrating how all Scripture points to Him, Jesus performs a crucial act: He opens their minds so they can fully understand the message of the Scriptures.
Reflections:
1. The necessity of divine revelation:
Understanding Scripture is not merely an intellectual exercise; it is a gift from God. Jesus Himself must open our minds and hearts to grasp the true meaning of His Word. This reminds us to pray for spiritual discernment.
2. Scripture reveals Christ:
Jesus shows that everything written—from the Law of Moses to the Prophets and the Psalms—points to Him. The Bible is not just a book of rules or stories but a revelation of salvation through Christ.
3. Spiritual transformation:
When Jesus opens our minds, it is not only for understanding but also for living out the Word. True comprehension of the Bible transforms us and deepens our relationship with God.
Personal Application:
Pray to God to open your mind every time you read Scripture.
Reflect on how Jesus is the center of the entire Bible, and seek to see His work in every part of His Word.
Let this understanding inspire you to live a life aligned with God’s will and to share Christ’s message with others.
Prayer:
"Lord Jesus, just as You opened the minds of Your disciples, open my mind and heart so I may understand the Scriptures and see You in every page. Transform my life through Your Word, and help me to share the truth of Your love with others. Amen."
SOW A SEED OF GENEROSITY THIS SEASON
"Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry out and not be answered." — Proverbs 21:13 (NIV)
This verse delivers a strong warning to those who ignore the needs of people in distress, especially the poor and those seeking help. In these words, God’s wisdom teaches us to live with compassion, generosity, and kindness toward others.
When the verse says, "Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor," it describes someone who chooses to ignore the pain, struggles, and needs of others—whether out of selfishness or indifference. The cries of the poor are not just expressions of pain; they reveal desperation and an urgent need for help. Ignoring them reflects a lack of empathy and love, which goes against God’s will.
The verse continues, "...they too will cry out and not be answered." This is a reminder that how we treat others will come back to us. If we refuse to help those in need, we may find ourselves in situations where our cries for help go unanswered.
In Luke 6:38, Jesus says, "For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." This teaches us that our actions toward others have direct consequences for our spiritual and physical lives.
God has always shown special love for the poor and needy. Proverbs 19:17 tells us, "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done." During this Christmas season, let us celebrate not with selfishness but with a heart of generosity, remembering those who are struggling and less fortunate.
Prayer: Lord, I ask You to give me a heart of generosity and compassion so I can help those in need. Amen.

DON’T GIVE UP, ENDURE AND BE PATIENT
"But if you endure suffering for doing good, this is commendable before God." — 1 Peter 2:20
When God tells you to trust Him, know that there will be times when your faith is tested and your dreams might seem out of reach. You may even feel like giving up, but today I encourage you: Never give up!
Giving up means you’ve decided that God has failed and can’t help you anymore. It means you believe God is not faithful and that His promises won’t come to pass. When you give up, you stop relying on God and choose to depend on your own strength instead.
But remember, your strength and abilities have limits. Before you make the decision to give up, ask yourself: What happens if I quit? What will follow? Are you ready to let the enemy win? Will you allow evil to triumph? You need to realize that you’re the only one who can make the right decision to keep going, whether it’s in your job, marriage, or family.
If you’re considering giving up on your family or marriage, think about the impact on your children. What will happen to your loved ones? If you’re the one they depend on, there’s no one else who can do what you’re doing. If you quit, no one will step in to take your place.
I encourage you in the name of Jesus: Keep moving forward. Heaven is on your side. Don’t focus on those who oppose you or speak against you. Remember that God has trusted you with this responsibility, giving you the strength and ability to fulfill it. Don’t stop doing what God has called you to do because of people’s opinions.
Where your blessings are, challenges are often the greatest. Anything with a testimony comes with battles. If you’re not patient, you may miss out on the blessings God has prepared for you, and His plans for your life may be delayed.
Many people give up just before overcoming their challenges. Don’t let that happen to you! Stop focusing on your current hardships because you can’t see the full picture that God sees. Instead, trust His promises, stand firm, and keep moving forward.
Prayer: Jesus, give me the strength to overcome this challenge. Help me to be patient and trust in You. Amen.

DON'T LET ANYONE MAKE YOU SIN AGAINST GOD
One day, a woman came to me seeking prayers. She seemed troubled and afraid, so I asked her to explain what was going on. She shared that she was worried about her relationship with her boyfriend and feared she might lose him.
She explained that she had been in a toxic relationship in the past that had left her broken. After ending it, she decided to turn her life around by returning to God. She committed herself to prayer, studying God’s Word, and attending church. One of her biggest prayers was for God to bless her with a God-fearing man who would encourage her faith and pray with her.
Eventually, she met someone who seemed to be an answer to her prayers. He had all the qualities she had prayed for and would teach her the Word of God and pray with her over the phone every night. As their relationship grew, he began visiting her house. One day, they ended up sleeping together. The man persuaded her by telling her he wanted to know her better and that it was necessary to "create a spiritual bond" between them by sleeping together to ensure they wouldn’t separate. Because she trusted him as a “man of God,” she believed him.
Sleeping together became a normal part of their relationship. They would even pray before they slept and when they woke up, and he would leave early in the morning to avoid being seen. At times, he admitted their actions were wrong but justified it by saying it was acceptable since they didn’t live together. He was just spending the night with her.
However, the woman began noticing changes in her emotions. She would wake up feeling bitter and start a fight with him for no reason. She became jealous, often accusing him of cheating whenever she found another woman’s number in his phone. This cycle of fights, apologies, and confusion continued until the man told her, “I think you don’t love me anymore. Maybe you’ve found another man. If so, just tell me.”
Afraid of losing him, she came to me, unsure of what was happening.
I told her plainly, “The problem is the sin you are committing. Fornication is opening gates, not doors but—huge gates—for evil spirits to ruin your life and relationship.
I told her the two of you are destroying your own lives and this relationship because of what you are doing. I told her God was not in the prayers they were praying. I told her "The only prayer you were supposed to pray was the one of repentance and then make a commitment to stop sleeping together until marriage.”
She listened and agreed to change. I encouraged her to talk to her boyfriend and explain her decision to remain pure until marriage. I reminded her that by continuing in sin, she was destroying her own blessings.
A few weeks later, I called to follow up. Sadly, she admitted that she hadn’t followed through. She had decided to continue the relationship as it was.
It was heartbreaking.
This story reflects the reality of many who are led astray by people they trust. Some individuals, even those who claim to be “men of God,” justify sinful behavior and lead others into destruction. But the Bible warns us clearly: “Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]” (Ephesians 5:1 AMP).
We must not allow anyone—whether a boyfriend, girlfriend, friend, or even a pastor—to cause us to sin against God. True love leads to purity and righteousness, not compromise.
Prayer: Father, guide me to walk in purity and obedience to Your Word. Give me the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to recognize those who lead me away from You. Amen.

HUMILITY BRINGS ANSWERS TO YOUR PRAYERS
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
Have you ever wondered why you pray so much yet feel like God is silent? His Word says He is near to the brokenhearted, so why doesn’t He answer when you cry?
The one person God never ignores is someone with a broken and contrite heart. This refers to a person who is in pain, sorrow, or distress and is also Humble. Having both brokenness and humility invites God’s help quickly.
Many cry out to God, but they lack humility. No matter how difficult your situation may be, what moves God to help is the humility in your heart, not the sufferings you are experiencing.
People pray and cry to God because life’s challenges have broken them—some lack jobs, and others face rejection, sickness, or suffering. Perhaps you, too, are dealing with something heavy. But it is very rare for someone to cry because of sin. Adam made a great mistake, and we have not seen him in the Scriptures regretting or crying because of what he did.
Now here’s the question: Do you take the things of God seriously? Are you following His instructions? Are you obeying His Word and listening to the Holy Spirit?
Humility is shown in obedience and submission to what God has commanded. The person God is near to and answers swiftly is one who obeys His Word. When such a person, brokenhearted and distressed, cries out to God, He answers quickly.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask for a humble heart that obeys Your commands, so You may be close to me and help me whenever I call. Amen.

YOU MUST OVERCOME THE TEMPTATIONS YOU FACE
"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." James 1:12 (NIV)
Temptations are part of our daily lives, especially when we want to stand firm in our faith in God. We face temptations from our surroundings, from Satan, and even from our own desires.
God knows all these challenges and has given you the responsibility to overcome every temptation that comes your way. God is your protector, and he ensures that no temptation is beyond your ability to endure. As 1 Corinthians 10:13 says:
"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
One of the biggest issues with this generation today is the justification of sin. Many people fall into sin and then claim, “I couldn’t resist.” and because they couldn't resist it, they think they are not accountable. They think God must understand them and be okay with it. And their decisions and choices are based on feelings, not on God's Instructions. And they have "logical" excuses for failing to overcome temptations.
You must overcome the temptations you face for God to bless you. Some people's lives remain stagnant because they repeatedly fail the same test. For instance, someone may keep dreaming of being in primary school, sitting for exams, and failing. These dreams signify a temptation that you have failed to overcome. It may be that sin you are attempted to commit every time, and you fall for it. You won't grow to another level spiritually until you overcome it; that's why you are dreaming of school and being on the levels you passed a long time ago.
Make a decision today and pray for God's grace to overcome all temptations. Victory over these trials will lead to God's blessings now and the crown of life in heaven. Amen.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray for strength and power to overcome every temptation. I reject every spirit of failure in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The Power of Listening to Good Advice: Lessons from Moses and Jethro
Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Proverbs 19:20 NIV
In the book of Exodus 18, Moses had a tough job leading the Israelites through the wilderness. He spent long hours every day solving their disputes. His father-in-law, Jethro, saw how exhausting this was and gave him advice: Moses should share the work by appointing trustworthy leaders to handle small cases, leaving him to focus on the bigger issues.
Moses followed Jethro’s advice, and it worked! He could lead better, and the people were happier. This story teaches us how important it is to listen to good advice, especially from those God puts in our lives.
1. Good Advice Prevents Big Problems
If Moses had continued working alone, he would have burned out, and the people would have suffered. Jethro’s advice saved him from exhaustion and made the system more efficient.
In the same way, listening to experienced people can help us avoid mistakes that could grow into serious problems. Proverbs 15:22 says, “Plans fail without advice, but they succeed with many counselors.” When we ask for advice, we often find solutions we didn’t see before, saving ourselves from unnecessary trouble.
2. God Speaks Through Others
Jethro’s advice wasn’t just practical; it was God-given wisdom. Sometimes, God uses other people to guide us, even if they’re not perfect.
Proverbs 19:20 says, “Listen to advice and accept correction, and in the end, you will be wise.” Ignoring good advice can make us miss the solutions God provides through others. Whether it’s a mentor, a leader, or a friend, God often uses them to help us move forward.
3. Know Your Limits
Moses was chosen by God, but even he didn’t have all the answers. By listening to Jethro, he admitted his limits and found a better way to lead.
Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t depend on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to Him, and He will guide your path.” Accepting our limits takes humility, but it allows us to see blind spots and take better approaches to challenges.
4. Respect the Wisdom of Elders
Jethro was Moses’ father-in-law, showing how important it is to respect advice from parents and elders. Ephesians 6:1–2 says, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother.”
Our parents don’t have to be perfect to give good advice. Their life experience often provides valuable lessons. Even if their advice doesn’t fully match our plans, listening to them can help us make better decisions.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be humble and open to wise advice. Show me how to recognize Your guidance through others, and teach me to trust Your plans for my life. Amen.

BE CAREFUL NOT TO STOP BELIEVING IN GOD
"See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God." —Hebrews 3:12 (NIV)
Over the past few days, we’ve been learning about God’s goodness and faithfulness. We’ve seen how limitless His love is. But this raises a question: If God is so merciful, why do people suffer and perish?
Today's message warns us about the danger of unbelief. Unbelief is the root cause of all the problems humanity faces today—even among Christians who claim to believe in God. It’s possible to trust God in certain areas of your life but struggle to believe in others. You may doubt that some things can happen the way God says they will. Then there are those who don’t believe in God at all and deny His existence.
Unbelief separates you from God because it hinders you from receiving anything from Him. Even the grace and mercy He has freely given us become inaccessible through unbelief. Today’s verse specifically addresses Christians, warning that even within the church, there are people who do not truly believe in God. They attend church as a routine or tradition but lack genuine faith.
The Word of God says:
"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."—James 2:17 (NIV)
So, even if you’re in church but your actions do not align with your faith, you are effectively living as an unbeliever. Without faith, you separate yourself from God—not because He has rejected you, but because you’ve distanced yourself from Him.
John 3:18 tells us:
"Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."
Unbelief brings condemnation, curses, and suffering into your life. Under the New Covenant, judgment comes because of unbelief in God. To believe in God is to believe in the One He sent—Jesus Christ, our Savior. When you believe in His name, you will be saved, and your household and possessions will come under His blessing and protection.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your grace. I pray for steadfast faith in You, so that Your blessings and favor may rest upon me. Amen.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE MEDIATOR BETWEEN YOU AND GOD—NO ONE ELSE
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus."—1 Timothy 2:5 (NIV)
There are many teachings and perspectives that Christians have adopted, which contradict the truth about the ministry of reconciliation found in Christ. Today, I will address a few points to clear up confusion and misunderstandings about this vital ministry.
First, the Word of God says:
"All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation." —2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (NIV)
From these verses, it is clear that the origin of reconciliation is God Himself. It is God who desires to reconcile with you, which is why He sent Jesus to carry out this reconciliation. Jesus, in turn, has sent His servants and works through them to reconcile you to God.
It is wrong to think that God hates you or that He hated humanity because they sinned, and so Jesus had to step in to plead for mercy from an angry God who hates you. That is not the case! God loves you and desires to reconcile with you so that you can become His child, dwell in Him, and He in you. The scripture highlights something critical: "God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them." God does not Delight in judging or condemning you because of your sins.
Unfortunately, some teachings and messages focus on counting people's sins against them. Listening to such preachers, you may feel condemned, unworthy, and incapable of experiencing God’s grace and love. They present God as angry and vengeful. However, the true Gospel is one of reconciliation, revealing God’s love and mercy.
So why is 1 Timothy 2:5 important? I want you to understand this: there is only one mediator between you and God—Jesus Christ. No one should make you feel unworthy before God. If others judge you or count your sins against you, remember that Jesus is your mediator, and there is no other. If there are so-called God's ministers who contradict this truth, they are not doing God's work. Do not listen to them.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your ministry of reconciliation. I now accept and believe in the reconciliation You accomplished on the cross, knowing You do not count my sins against me. Amen.

Union in Our Families: Building a Foundation of Love and Peace
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11 NIV
Unity is the cornerstone of a strong and healthy family. In today’s fast-paced world, misunderstandings, conflicts, and distractions can strain familial bonds. Applying the principles from 2 Corinthians 13:11 can help families strengthen their relationships and foster a sense of belonging and harmony.
1. Rejoice Together
Joy is contagious, and celebrating milestones and successes as a family creates lasting memories and strengthens bonds. Family traditions, such as weekly dinners or prayers and fellowship, provide opportunities to rejoice together. Even during challenges, finding reasons to be grateful—such as good health or small victories—can uplift the entire household.
2. Strive for Full Restoration
Disagreements and misunderstandings are inevitable in families. However, Paul’s call to “strive for full restoration” reminds us of the importance of reconciliation. Parents, siblings, and extended family members should prioritize resolving conflicts rather than letting them fester. For example, a simple apology, a heartfelt conversation, or even seeking God's guidance can restore broken relationships.
3. Encourage One Another
Encouragement plays a vital role in building strong families. Parents can affirm their children’s efforts, fostering self-esteem and resilience. Siblings can cheer each other on in their endeavors, creating a support system within the family. A culture of encouragement helps family members feel valued and strengthens their commitment to one another.
4. Be of One Mind
Unity in a family is achieved when members share common values and goals. While individual differences are inevitable, aligning on core principles—such as love, respect, and shared responsibilities—creates a sense of purpose. For instance, families can work together to maintain traditions, support each other’s aspirations, and collaborate on long-term goals like education, savings, or caregiving.
5. Live in Peace
Peace is the fruit of intentional actions such as patience, understanding, and empathy. A peaceful home allows every member to feel secure and cherished. Avoiding unnecessary arguments, practising active listening, and creating opportunities for relaxation and bonding contribute to a harmonious environment.
Practical Steps for Family Unity
Regular Communication: Honest, open discussions prevent misunderstandings and build trust.
Shared Activities: Cooking, playing games, or engaging in hobbies together fosters connection.
Prayer: Seeking God’s guidance through praying together as a family strengthens spiritual bonds.
Forgiveness: Letting go of past mistakes and extending grace ensures long-term harmony.
When families strive for unity, the "God of love and peace" blesses them with His presence. Let us commit to nurturing unity in our homes and creating spaces where love, trust, and understanding flourish.

THE POWER OF MEDITATING ON GOD’S WORD
"He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good, and blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is he who trusts [confidently] in the Lord." Proverbs 16:20 (AMP)
God told Joshua, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read and meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful." Joshua 1:8 (AMP)
The Book of the Law was the "instruction manual" or the constitution of Israel. These instructions provided guidance for success under God's direct authority. It was vital for Joshua to study and understand what was written in it. However, God gave Joshua an additional task—He commanded him to meditate on the Word day and night and to obey it.
Today’s verse says: "He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good." Your success is directly tied to how seriously you take God’s Word—meditating on it and obeying it. Since you were created by God, and the entire universe is His creation, you cannot truly understand how to succeed unless you listen to Him.
At certain points in life, you may feel uncertain, unsure of what to do, or have questions with no clear answers. When this happens, your solution is to turn to the Word of God. As you meditate on God’s Word, you gain clarity and insight. This light guides your decisions, helping you do the right thing, which brings blessings and success into your life. Whatever you are going through right now, God has something to say about it, and it is probably good; it is in the Bible, and if you read it, he will guide you to the exact Word you need in your life right now.
Meditating on the Word builds your understanding, and this understanding strengthens your faith. You cannot have faith in something you do not understand. The verse continues: "And blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is he who trusts [confidently] in the Lord." Meditating on God’s Word leads to understanding, understanding builds faith, and faith gives you the boldness to receive anything you need from God.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your Word. I ask for the grace and strength to meditate on it daily so that I may receive Your goodness in my life. Amen.

DON'T DOUBT YOURSELF, YOU ARE BLESSED BY GOD
"His master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand." Genesis 39:3 (NIV)
The first thing I want you to notice in this verse is that "There is a special grace and ability God has placed in you." This understanding will help you overcome self-doubt, lack of confidence, and uncertainty about your potential. Here, we see Potiphar recognizing the power and blessing of God upon Joseph. So, even if you don’t see the ability in yourself, others have already noticed it.
Failing or encountering setbacks doesn’t mean you lack ability. Not at all. Joseph’s life was full of challenges and rejection. His brothers rejected him, plotted to kill him, and eventually sold him into slavery. Despite all this, when he arrived in Egypt as a slave, his employer recognized that everything Joseph did was blessed.
Joseph was a person who made others’ ventures successful, while his own life remained stagnant. Even in prison, he interpreted dreams for others, which led to their success, but he remained behind bars. Was it because he lacked ability or wasn’t blessed by God? Absolutely not!
Today, I remind you that God has a purpose for your life, and in His timing, you will prosper. Believe in yourself and the abilities within you, even if your current circumstances are not ideal. What is required of you is diligence and patience—never give up on yourself.
Joseph never gave up. Even when tempted by Potiphar’s wife, he refused to sin. He could have established a relationship with her to gain wealth and material benefits, but he chose not to. Sadly, some people, discouraged by delayed success, turn to destructive habits such as drinking, immorality, or theft.
Today, believe that there is power within you, and trust that God will bring success in His time. Don’t be afraid to start something new out of fear of failure. God is with you and will make you prosper.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank you for the blessings and ability you have placed in me. Help me to have confidence in myself and never to give up. Amen

INCREASE YOUR FAITH IN PRAYER
"So he answered, 'Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.' (2 Kings 6:16, NKJV)"
The Word of God says, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17).
Notice the word "comes" in that verse—hearing is the starting point of faith. But what exactly is faith? Hebrews 11:1 defines it as "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Faith is "assurance." You must have assurance about the thing you are hoping to receive. This assurance comes from evidence. The verse continues: "the evidence of things not seen." Evidence is proof—something that has been revealed, known, and understood. Faith happens when you see in the spiritual realm the thing you are hoping for and hold firm to that assurance.
In prayer, you must spend time asking God to grant you understanding so you can know and see the things He has promised you in the spiritual realm. If you haven’t seen the thing you are hoping to receive, it is easy to lose hope and give up when trials come your way. This is because you lack assurance about what you are expecting, and without assurance, there is no faith.
In the story of Prophet Elisha, he was with someone who couldn’t see the divine protection surrounding them. As a result, this person doubted and feared when they saw the enemy’s army. But then:
" And Elisha prayed, and said, 'Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.' Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha." (2 Kings 6:17, NKJV)
After seeing this, the young man was no longer afraid because he now understood and witnessed the protection God had provided. In the same way, I pray that God will open your spiritual eyes to see the abundance of blessings and grace He has poured out on you. When your faith is built on this assurance, you will be able to confidently receive what you are asking of Him.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray that You open my spiritual eyes to see the abundance of blessings and grace You have released upon me. Amen.

As we Celebrate the Birth of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, let us praise our God for the wonderful things He has done;
Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

GOOD NEWS FOR ALL PEOPLE
"But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.’" — Luke 2:10 (NIV)
Over 2,000 years ago, God fulfilled His promises to humanity by sending Jesus Christ into the world. When the angels announced this news to the shepherds, they declared it as good news of great joy for all people. The birth of Jesus is the foundation of humanity’s salvation because:
1. Jesus was born to save people from sin.
As written in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." The birth of Jesus brings hope to those lost in sin.
2. Jesus came to heal wounds of the heart and body.
In our lives, we face challenges like sorrow, sickness, or pain. But as we remember the birth of Jesus, we find assurance that our healer is with us. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
3. Jesus is a helper for everyone, no matter their status.
He was born humbly in a manger, showing that He came for all—rich and poor, high and low. There’s no situation Jesus cannot understand or help with because He became human to save all humanity.
4. The birth of Jesus brings hope to the brokenhearted.
Jesus brought peace to a world overshadowed by the darkness of sin. For those in distress, Christmas reminds us that Jesus is the "Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).
5. The birth of Jesus confirms God’s faithfulness.
It is a testament that God keeps His promises. For those waiting on answers to their prayers, the birth of Jesus assures us that God is trustworthy.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for coming into the world for me. Help me to reflect deeply on this joyful news. Amen.

SEEK TRUE JOY AND PEACE
"Laughter may hide sadness. When happiness is gone, sorrow is always there." Proverbs 14:13 GNT
In Proverbs 14:12, it says, "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death." This shows that one of the devil’s greatest strategies, especially in this generation, is to deceive people into thinking certain things are okay and enjoyable because they provide temporary happiness, all while keeping them blind to the eventual consequences.
Our verse today reminds us, "Laughter may hide sadness." Some things can make you feel happy for a short time, distracting you from your troubles, but they don’t solve the root of your problems. Many in today’s society, especially the youth, are going through challenges that have broken their hearts. Many are living with a broken heart. As a result, they turn to temporary pleasures to escape their pain.
God is speaking to you today. Those fleeting pleasures may make you laugh for a moment, but your sorrow remains, as the verse continues, "When happiness is gone, sorrow is always there." After drinking alcohol, sorrow returns. After fornication, grief follows. After a night out with friends, the sadness is still there. If your life is full of regrets and pain caused by these actions, turn to God today.
Jesus Christ is called the Prince of Peace. Don’t think that living a godly life or being saved is outdated or strange. Living a life of integrity, righteousness, and holiness may seem odd to some, but it brings lasting peace. Your plans will succeed, and you will build a strong and happy life.
You will enjoy a peaceful marriage with your spouse and children. You’ll work and earn honestly, and when challenges arise, you’ll call on God, and He will help you. Your life will be fulfilling because you’ll live with confidence, knowing you’re doing the right thing. God will take pride in you and say, “This is my child, living a life of righteousness and holiness.” As a result, He will protect, bless, and guide you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me and give me strength. Today, I turn away from everything that leads to destruction. Holy Spirit, help me. Amen.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF DEFILING GOD'S TEMPLE — SEXUAL IMMORALITY
"And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit." Ephesians 2:22 (NIV)
Psalm 132:13–15 says, "For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying, ‘This is my resting place forever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it. I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor and I will satisfy with food.’"
You are God’s temple. Your body is the place where God desires to dwell. That’s why the Word says, "And in him, you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit." The way you take care of God’s temple determines how God blesses and sustains you.
1 Corinthians 3:17 says, "If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple."
Why Do Some People Struggle in Life Despite them being good people?
Many people today face challenges in life—stagnation, financial difficulties, or unfulfilled plans—even though they are kind, hardworking, and live peacefully with others. They wonder why they don’t prosper despite doing their best.
Often, the enemy blinds people, not seeing that it is wrong to do things with their bodies that go against God’s commands. Without realizing it, they desecrate God’s temple, making themselves enemies of God. As a result, God do to them what he said in his word "If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person."
A Common Cause of Life Stagnation
One major way people desecrate God’s temple is through sexual immorality. Sexual sin has ruined the dreams and visions of many people. God, who grants success, withdraws His presence from them because they have defiled His holy place. According to human Standards, they are good people. They don't have any problems with anyone, but they have a problem with God—Fornication.
It’s not always about curses or doing evil to people; sometimes, a single act of dishonouring God’s temple can bring about unnecessary struggles and ruins into your life.
Take Action Today
Decide today to honour God’s temple—your body. Avoid actions that defile it. The power to overcome temptation is within you when you make a firm decision and seek God’s help. Some people don't know God and have morals. They respect and honour their Bodies, how much more you, who knows God and can you pray?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, you purchased me with Your precious blood. Today, by Your grace, I choose to honour and respect Your temple—my body. Help me to overcome all temptations and remain faithful to You. Amen.

THE CORE OF TRUE WORSHIP
Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.” Psalms 50:23 NIV
Worship is the foundation of our relationship with God. It is not confined to rituals, songs, or religious ceremonies but extends to the condition of our hearts and our daily walk with the Lord. Psalm 50:23 states, “Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.” This verse reveals the essence of true worship—grounded in gratitude, obedience, and a sincere connection with God.
True Worship Is Heartfelt, God desires worship that flows from the heart rather than being an outward display of religious activity. In the Old Testament, sacrifices were central to worship. However, as Psalm 50 highlights, God is not impressed by the mere act of sacrifice. Instead, He values the intent behind it.
For example, A thank offering symbolizes genuine gratitude for God’s blessings. True worship acknowledges God’s sovereignty and goodness with a grateful heart, going beyond rituals to form a deeper connection with Him.
Ask yourself: Does my worship reflect genuine love and gratitude, or is it simply a habit?
Gratitude is essential to worship. By giving thanks, we honor God and recognize Him as the source of all blessings. This act of humility aligns us with God’s will, helping us see His hand in every aspect of our lives.
A grateful heart is also a worshipful heart—one that reflects on God’s provision, mercy, and grace. For example, thanking God for the food you eat, the family you have, or His guidance during difficulties demonstrates your dependence on Him. When we cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving, we demonstrate reverence for God and affirm our trust in His goodness.
Psalm 50:23 ties worship to obedience, describing the blameless as those who walk in integrity and faithfulness. While no one can achieve perfection, striving to align our actions, thoughts, and attitudes with God’s will is an act of worship.
Obedience shows our trust in God’s wisdom and our willingness to follow His commands. Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands” (John 14:15). For instance, choosing forgiveness instead of bitterness or honesty instead of compromise are acts of obedience that honor God. Worship without obedience is hollow. True worship flows from a heart that seeks to please God in every area of life.
Worship is not just a Sunday activity; it is a way of life. Romans 12:1 reminds us: “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
True worship transforms us from the inside out. It changes how we view our circumstances, approach relationships, and make decisions. For example, a worshipful life leads to selflessness in serving others and trusting God’s plan during challenges.
Today you are reminded that God values a sincere heart and faithful living over empty rituals. As we offer Him our thanksgiving and strive to walk in obedience, we honor Him and experience His transforming grace.
Prayer: Lord, help me to worship You in spirit and truth. Let my gratitude and obedience bring glory to Your name. Amen.

THE UNCHANGING LOVE OF GOD
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. —Isaiah 54:10 (NIV)
Fear is a spirit—the very first spirit to manifest and trouble humanity after disobedience to God. This is evident when Adam responded to God: "He answered, 'I heard You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.'"—Genesis 3:10 (NIV)
Adam hid from God’s presence because he was afraid—he was filled with fear. Why was Adam afraid? After sinning, the enemy infiltrated his thoughts and spoke words that altered Adam’s perception of God. Based on what was happening in his life at that moment, Adam began to see God as an enemy. These lies created hostility between Adam and God, making Adam believe he was no longer acceptable before Him because of His nakedness.
That’s why God asked Adam, "Who told you that you were naked?" God knew there were voices Adam had listened to—voices that told him, “You’re not worthy before God because you’re naked.” Notice something crucial here: Adam didn’t hide because of the sin he committed but because he was naked. He openly admitted this. Furthermore, Adam didn’t ask God for mercy or forgiveness.
Why didn’t Adam ask for forgiveness?
It’s because he had already given up hope. The enemy had distorted his perception of God to the point where Adam felt utterly unworthy and convinced that God no longer wanted him. To Adam, asking for forgiveness seemed pointless. He no longer saw God as a merciful and loving Father. But the truth is, our God is not like that. He is full of compassion and love for us. He never changes, and His mercy toward us is everlasting.
This is why today’s Word speaks to you of his commitment to love you. Don’t let the enemy deceive you based on the circumstances in your life, the mistakes you’ve made, or the sins you’ve committed. Don’t believe that God’s goodness has departed from you. Let me assure you: God has not changed. He still loves you, and His goodness remains upon you. Through the covenant of peace in Jesus Christ, God will never leave you. He is always with you, in all situations, ready to save and help you.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for Your goodness and mercy that are with me at all times. Amen.

MAKE GOD YOUR DEFENDER
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is He who will save us." —Isaiah 33:22 (NIV)
In July, we reflected on this verse and learned about God as our defender and His ability to fight for us. However, in our real-life experiences, there are times when we face challenges and do not see God stepping in to help us. Many Christians complain or grumble against God because He did not defend them when they needed him.
The issue, however, is not with God—it lies with us. That is why today, God has sent me to explain how to make Him your defender. The first and most crucial thing we cannot ignore or downplay is sin. I am not judging you; this is the truth. In Isaiah 59:1-3, the Word of God says:
"Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters wicked things."
As you continue to read the following verses, they describe the actions of these people that distanced them from God. The passage concludes by saying:
"So justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us. We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows." (Isaiah 59:9)
For God to defend you and grant you justice, your actions must align with His commands. If you do not follow His instructions, God cannot stand on your side. Take time today to examine yourself and evaluate your actions. God is not deceived; He knows your heart and every step you take. You cannot claim to be righteous while secretly engaging in evil practices.
Therefore, repent and turn away from sin, and you will see God helping you. Abandon your wicked ways. If you want God to be your defender, start by obeying Him, then rely on Him fully. Do not depend on your strength or abilities. Do not let pride hinder you; instead, humble yourself before God and follow His guidance.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask for Your forgiveness in every area where I have failed to obey and trust You. Today, I make You my judge and defender. Amen.

REPENTANCE AND RESTORATION
"Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the voice of the LORD your God. Then the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster He has pronounced against you."
—Jeremiah 26:13 (NIV)
True repentance leads to the restoration of what was lost. Repentance may give you something you need but you've never had it. Starting from personal life to family and society at large, some actions trigger God's judgment, which results in punishment and negative outcomes.
Today’s message challenges us to reflect on our actions and ways. If there are things in your life that do not glorify God, it’s time to let them go. First, understand that God hasn’t stopped speaking to you. He continues to call you daily to reform your ways. This is because many live as Christians but still engage in behaviours that God forbids.
If you find yourself knowingly committing sins or doing wrong things, you must feel convicted in your heart. You understand that these actions grieve God and may even result in His judgment. Some people are already experiencing these consequences, seeing the effects of their actions in their lives or even in their children’s lives. They know that the suffering or struggles they face are a direct result of their sins.
Today, God’s voice calls out to you again:
"Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the voice of the LORD your God. Then the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster He has pronounced against you."
If you choose to turn your heart to God, He will show mercy and lift the judgment upon you and your family.
Do not offer repentance as a mere habit—where you repent today but continue in the same sin tomorrow. Don’t blame your weaknesses, the devil, or others for your disobedience to God. True repentance comes with obedience. You must obey God’s instructions in every circumstance.
Our God is full of mercy, and He has given us Jesus Christ to save us from the bondage of sin. However, you must live a life of self-denial, allowing the Holy Spirit to break the chains of sin and death. If you continue to willingly engage in evil and justify it as acceptable, God’s grace will not work in your life. But when you renounce sin and deny yourself, God will help you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to follow You and abandon all unrighteous ways. Strengthen me to obey You and keep Your Word, so that goodness may come to me. Amen.

IS GOD WITH YOU?
"Seek [and long for] good and not evil, so that you may live; and so may the Lord God of hosts be with you, just as you have said!" Amos 5:14 (AMP)
Many people claim that God is with them and that He enables them to accomplish things in their lives. However, this is often just a habitual expression, lacking genuine truth. Why do I say this? It’s because many who make such claims neither truly know God nor His character.
The first characteristic of God is holiness. He says in His Word:
"For thus says the high and exalted One, He who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell on the high and holy place, but also with the contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to restore the heart of the contrite.’" Isaiah 57:15 (AMP)
Do not let anyone deceive you with empty words, claiming they believe in God and that He is with them when their actions contradict this. Sometimes, it is evident even to us that God cannot be present in certain places or involved in certain actions. For example, there is a tendency many of us might relate to: someone sneaks out of work early and silently prays, "God, help me not to get caught," or someone steals and prays, "God, be with me so I won’t get caught." God cannot be a part of such acts.
This behavior starts with small things and grows into larger issues, leading to a false sense that God is with us in everything we do, even when it dishonors Him. This is a flawed belief.
Today's Word instructs us to seek good so that we may live, and live in his presence. Many lives are in disarray, and people face misfortunes because they lack God’s presence. They assume God is with them, but He is not.
If you desire to truly have God’s presence with you, do good, live a life that pleases Him, and avoid the things He has forbidden. To God, there is no such thing as small or big sins—sin is sin. Our God is holy, and He dwells in a holy place.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to live a life of doing good and walking in holiness so that Your presence will always be with me. Amen.

YOUR FAITH MAKES GOD'S PROMISES A REALITY
"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her." Luke 1:45 (NIV)
In Ephesians 1:3-5, the Word of God says:
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love, He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will."
From these verses, you can see that it is God’s will and eternal plan—conceived before the world was formed—for you to live a life of blessing and peace. His Word reveals that He chose you to live in the glory and blessings He has already prepared.
It’s important to recognize that there are both spiritual and physical blessings. God has already established these blessings for you. For those who long to live holy lives pleasing to God, to dwell constantly in His presence, and to walk in His power, He has already provided the grace to do so. It is your right as His child.
What is required of you is to believe. That’s why today’s scripture says: "Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her." If there are personal struggles or challenges in your life—if you long to become a different person from who you are now—believe that God has already delivered you and will transform you. When you believe this, the strength to overcome sin and every temptation is activated in you. No matter how many times you have fallen, His grace is already available to free you from bondage and darkness. Just believe!
If you need healing, now is the time to believe in what God has said without being swayed by the condition of your body. When you believe, Christ’s healing power begins to work within you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask for Your mercy for my doubts and unbelief. Today, I choose to believe what You have said about me. Amen.

I am praying for you; may God, by His grace, accomplish every work He has begun in your life. May He grant you the strength and blessings to complete all the plans you had for this year before it ends.
Happy New Month!
You Are Not a Burden to God He hears your prayers
"For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; nor has He hidden His face from him; but when he cried to Him, He heard." (Psalms 22:24, NKJV)
Yesterday, we learned about how to regain strength in prayer, and we learned that the way to do so is to simply decide to start praying. A person who prays doesn’t need any special qualifications before God. All you need is the willingness to pray to Him. The key is to be honest before God—open your heart, express the truth and reality of your life, and then ask for what you need.
When it comes to prayer, there is often a challenge, especially when you don’t know how to pray as you should. This challenge exists for everyone, regardless of their spiritual maturity. Even those who are spiritually mature sometimes struggle to find the right words to pray. A great example is Jesus Christ. Though He was the Son of God and without sin, when it came time for Him to face the cross, His prayer was brief because he didn't know which words to use. So he just prayed for God’s will, and he prayed; "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." (Matthew 26:39, NKJV)
Jesus repeated this same prayer three times, showing the intense struggle He was experiencing. This demonstrates that challenges in prayer are not new—they even affected Jesus. So, don’t be afraid or discouraged.
Today's Scripture offers incredible encouragement and reassurance. It begins by saying, " For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted." This means you can be confident that God never despises anyone who is in trouble. Even if you don’t know how to pray well, your pain and suffering are significant to Him. God takes your struggles seriously.
It also says, "Nor has He hidden His face from him." Your problems have never irritated or bothered God. Human beings may see you as a burden when you approach them for help, but God is not like that. Every time you come to Him, He receives you with love—again and again. God never grows tired of you or your issues. So, don’t feel like you’re wearing Him out with your prayers.
Lastly, the verse says, "But when he cried to Him, He heard." Have you ever gone to someone for help, only for them to send someone else to tell you they’re unavailable—even though they are? That’s like hiding their face from you. But God doesn’t do that. In fact, He has commanded us to pray without ceasing. Every time you call on Him, He listens. Even if He doesn’t respond immediately, know that He is working on your situation. This verse should give you even more confidence to pray to God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before You today, knowing You hear my prayers. Amen.
