The Polkadot Unlock Harvest ended on Nov 22nd! ❌

The campaign was launched to support the release of +100M DOT, due to the expiration of the slot lease of the first 5 five parachains on Polkadot.

Let's look at some exciting metrics from the campaign:

1⃣ The Polkadot Unlock Harvest campaign ended with a substantial rise in DOT staked on Bifrost.

A total of 2,310,000 DOT, worth over $12 Million, was minted into vDOT from over 1,700 participating addresses.

2⃣ This significantly increased the daily minting volume of vDOT by 113% (!!!) with users enjoying the plethora of yield-earning and Polkadot OpenGOV Voting Power retention opportunities, all provided by vDOT

3⃣ Addresses participating in the campaign minted an average of 1,110 vDOT, for which they will receive 450 BNC each.

A total reward of 500,000 BNC have been set out as main prize for the campaign and it is going to be distributed, weekly.

🔊Dear Community, 🔊

In the last 24 hours since Bifrost launched its Crowdloan, nearly 10,000 DOT have been contributed.

However, based on community feedback, the successful bidding in this round of Bifrost may potentially prevent other parachains from successfully renewing and halt block production.

With six months remaining in Bifrost’s slot, and to protect the Dotsama ecosystem, Bifrost has decided to extend the Crowdloan bidding until January 16, 2024. At that time, a new Crowdloan will be created, and bidding for the next slot auction (Lease 16 to Lease 23) will begin.

As a result, DOTs already contributed to the Bifrost Crowdloan bidding (including addresses participating through SALP) will be unlocked after the end of this round of Crowdloan (January 15, 2024) and will share 5000 BNC as compensation for staking rewards.

BNC rewards will be directly distributed to Bifrost Polkadot network addresses within one week. Additionally, the reward compensation snapshot deadline is Polkadot block height #18391000, and DOTs participating in this Crowdloan after the snapshot height will not be eligible for compensation.

So please stop contributing to our current Bifrost crowdloan 🙏.

We have just submitted a Treasury Liquidity Loan proposal on the Polkassembly discussion forum.

Similar to our previous successful Kusama treasury liquidity loan initiatives, we are requesting a loan of 1,000,000 DOT to be used for our DOT liquid staking token - vDOT - whereby a portion of DOT staking rewards will be used to subsidize Interlay iBTC vaults.

The loan will be repaid in full - with interest - to the Treasury. The allocated DOT will be minted to vDOT and utilized by Bifrost and Interlay to achieve the following objectives:
🔹 Liquidity provisioning for deeper liquidity on the vDOT-DOT pair on Bifrost’s Stableswap. This will improve the user experience for swapping between vDOT and DOT and more importantly drive the growth of vDOT and bolster the applications and use-cases across the Polkadot ecosystem.
🔹 Subsidizing Interlay’s iBTC vaults to help increase the adoption of vDOT as vault collateral and increase the bridge’s capacity to support the growth of iBTC in the Polkadot ecosystem.
