We Just pushed a proposal to recover another 700k BNC from the Bifrost Treasury that are still on Moonbeam.

This plan is divided into 2 proposals for execution:
1️⃣Proposal 1 (this proposal): Temporarily disable xcBNC transfers on the Moonbeam, and take a snapshot of the xcBNC balance of the private key exploiter address: 0xf682B6D40CA93BdD14B2CBd843BFa4e8d3916a29

2️⃣Proposal 2: Through governance, the xcBNC balance in the private key exploiter‘s snapshot address will be cross-chain transferred back to the Bifrost Treasury, and xcBNC transfers on the Moonbeam will be reopened.

If you have some GLMR we will appreciate the community support 🗳

📢 BNC movement - Update 📢
Unusual BNC movements were spotted a few hours ago with the Bifrost Treasury account.

The following features have been paused:
🔹BNC transfer
🔹Cross-chain functions of all assets

The problem has been resolved, and we are publishing a proposal to restore it.

The issue has no repercussion on users assets 🟢
Our protocols are not impacted at all 🟢

We will post a full post-mortem whenever possible.
It's still fresh, the team focus on investigation and issue solving 1st.

Bifrost Treasury: $BNC Abnormal Movement Report and $BNC BuyBack

Due to the exploitation of the multi-signature script private key used for automatic replenishment of BNC transaction fees (the cause of the private key leak is still under investigation), the compromised key allowed the transfer of 100 BNC from the treasury each time it was triggered. A total of 6,631,252 BNC from the Bifrost treasury was transferred to a private address.
➡️ The private key was abandoned and replaced immediately.

During this process, 3,351,153 BNC have been successfully returned to the treasury through governance interception, and another 3,280,099 BNC have been exchanged for DOT or cross-chained.

To compensate for this loss, the Bifrost core team has added 3,280,099 BNC self-held shares to the treasury. Currently, the Bifrost treasury has returned to its original holding level, holding a total of 22,888,508 BNC (Bifrost Kusama & Polkadot).

We are still investigating and will pursue personal legal liability for the private theft key. It is worth emphasizing that this incident does not involve the security of Bifrost's on-chain assets and code.
Next, we will comprehensively review the security of relevant off-chain scripts and private keys to ensure the security of the protocol's own assets.
➡️ All paused transfer/cross-chain features have now resumed normally.

Finally, the Bifrost Treasury will use 10,000 DOT to buy back $BNC through Hydration DCA.
