Hi guys,
We made some pretty significant changes to the economic model of our game which we announced last night. We know most of you understand that this was done in the interests of the sustainability of the game. We thought we'd spend a little bit of time explaining the specifics of the problem with our previous model and the decisions we took to come to arrive at the new model.
1. The problem: with NFTs being unlimited and all of them possessing an ability to earn a large ROI, this caused a sell pressure of $400-$500k of Mverse from players daily. This was causing the price of Mverse to crash as there were no measures in place to prevent this level of earnings being accrued. Our initial decision was to reduce the ROI, but this did not solve the issue.
2. The proposed solution, as explained last night, is to adjust the model into one which is more balanced across rarities and creates a disparity between the earnings of the different rarities for regular fights. So, we have XP for basics and golds whilst we have MaticVerse rewards for blues, purples and legendaries, with increased rewards as you go up the ladder for these rarities.
3. With your basics and golds, you can accumulate XP and use them for the super centron battle. We will also be allowing a burn of 4 basic NFTs to one blue and 2 golds to one blue. This gives the opportunity for players to upgrade their cards and earn rewards from regular fights.
4. Our vision is to create opportunities for people to be involved in a game that can make them passive income for years to come and our first model fell short of that vision. Using this adjusted model, we have the ability to create a sustainable economy so that players can thrive in the long term and investors as well as gamers can both see a great ROI.
5. After doing an analysis of the numbers, this new model will immediately create a 70%-80% reduction in the selling pressure and create an appetite to mint more packs to acquire the more lucrative cards.
6. The rewards for each tiers will be revealed prior to the relaunch of the game.
7. We understand some of the sentiments from the community and we regret that the initial model did not work out. But after long deliberation and reviewing dozens of suggestions, we have been advised by several people, including economists, that this new model will indeed achieve sustainability for the project.
