RBI Assistant as a Career Option

Yesterday I came to know from someone Working in RBI that if you are working in RBI at any level below Grade B, you can attempt RBI Grade B till any age, but the number of attempts will be 6 (I guess this attempt criteria is only for Gen/EWS).

So for those who have good speed in QRE, being an RBI Assistant can be another career option for you. Prelims are easy, but cutoffs go really high, and there is a language for different offices, and the maximum seats are in Mumbai (Marathi).

But in Case of Bank PO, Same Age Relaxation is up to 3 years of experience and that too after removing training period from your experience.

Don't get discouraged; I know out of 1.5 lakh+ people, only a few thousand have Qualified for Phase II.

There are many serious Aspirants who were well prepared for phase II but unfortunately didn't qualify for phase I because of some sectional cutoffs.

I'm really sorry for you. No one better than me can understand this feeling of losing out.

Last night I was passing by the RBI office in Patna, and every time I do, only one thought comes to mind: I didn't make it; I wasn't able to...

But that being said, you shouldn't get too much disheartened with this disqualification and rather get up and prepare for the next exam without even wasting a single day, so that these regrets that I have in me shouldn't be with you or anyone else.

Good Luck, Hope you learn from this exam and clear your next exam with flying colors.

Descriptive Centric Preparation is the Need of time for RBI GRADE B, NABARD Grade A 2023.

No matter how many hours you have spent with study materials till now, scoring high marks in the main examination will depend on how smartly you can express your absorbed learnings on paper.

Given the significance of Descriptive Writing in RBI GRADE B, you should incorporate innovations in your writing to ensure that answers are smartly conveying the depth of understanding of a given issue.

Use the PESTLE approach: For certain types of questions, you can use the PESTLE approach. It means analyzing an issue through various angles such as Political, Economic, Sociological, Technological, Legal, and Environmental (PESTLE). You can use this approach in questions having specific keywords like reasons, implications, importance, significance, effects, impact, and consequences.

Read this Article https://www.toppr.com/guides/business-management-entrepreneurship/entrepreneurship-creativity-and-innovation/pestle-analysis/

Take a middle ground: Neutrality and objectivity are critical intellectual traits of an Officer. You should always reflect it in answers by taking the middle ground. For instance, if a question demands an analysis of a certain government scheme, you can’t write against it or go overboard in its praise because no policy is a magic bullet. There are always some positive and negative aspects of a scheme. Therefore, you should always conclude by saying; While this policy is a step in the right direction, it needs to be further supplemented by reforms.

Wirte shorter Points rather than lengthy Paragraphs: RBI Grade B Main exam intends to test the depth of your understanding. You can display this by covering the maximum dimensions of a topic. Simultaneously, it is also essential to keep your answers crisp and clear. For example, if a question wants you to discuss a particular issue, you will always fetch more marks by writing six small points instead of three lengthy points in the form of long paragraphs.

Add case studies and real-life examples: Adding case studies or real-life examples gives more depth to an answer while conveying to the examiner that you have a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Real-life examples also reflect your intellectual trait and awareness about real issues and use case. Therefore, wherever possible, you should start an answer with an important report, survey, data, or index.

Ensure sub-headings align with the key demand of the question: Most students make mistakes in this, analyze the parts of questions and use similar keywords in your sub-heading.

Don't try to fool Examiner: If you know only 10% of the answer, and repeat the same point over and over again 50 times to fit the word limit, then examiner is not going to be fooled, he has seen thousands of copies, let’s not disrespect his intelligence, he was suitable for this post based on his experience that's why he had been selected for evaluation.

Suggestion for PHASE II

In process of doing everything and trying to beat IBPS in its own Game, you shouldn't miss covering what was a must-do and the common minimum that everyone had done.

People have had selection before in the paper which you think is difficult, mostly because they didn't make things complicated. Covered everything that was manageable and didn't make mistakes in exam.

In competitive exams, you don't need to score full marks; rather, you need to do better than most others.

Similar to ESI Priority Topics, I have been asked to share Topics for FM.

- You need to understand that in the RBI Grade B Exam, ESI is mainly Dynamic in nature, meaning it is current-centric, and FM is static, meaning it is mostly related to whatever is mentioned in the syllabus.

- This is one of the major reasons why FM is easy and scoring compared to ESI, because it's easier to cover, which is limited, same is not the case with ESI.

- If you read all the topics mentioned in the syllabus of Finance, Management, ethics, and Corporate governance, chances are, you would score good marks in FM, but the same couldn't be said for ESI with confidence.

- So, all those who are asking for Priority topics, cover the syllabus thoroughly at least, don't leave new things added in syllabus, as you can expect easier questions from new topics. No need to do anything that Is not mentioned in the syllabus.

- Practice Case Study Based Questions in management, practice conceptual numericals from accounting; it wouldn't be a calculative question but rather a conceptual one.

- For the phase II exam, due to a lack of time, Quality is more important than quantity.

- Practice writing at least 2-3 Answers on a daily basis (Your Fingers, keyboard, and mind should be in sync). You can find an ample amount of questions in the descriptive channel, @descriptive_bankexam (Check Pinned Posts or Hashtags)

Q. Can a question in Descriptive Answer Writing of RBI Grade B get Repeated?

Ans: Yes, why not? A question on corporate Governance has been repeated from last 2 years in management. Although not completely similar but definitely related.

However, in NABARD Grade A, a descriptive question on social forestry was asked in both 2021 and 2022, so definitely you should not leave topics that have already been asked considering they may not ask them again as they did it already in the previous year.

Suggestions for those who didn't qualify and are aiming for next year

Before looking for guidance, motivation, or suggestions from anyone else, you should do the following:

Right now, you should first write down your own analysis and experience of the exam, what worked for you, what went wrong, and what could have been done. It should be as detailed as possible; it may take a day or two, but a well-documented experience will help you get away with mistakes and also focus on the positives and things that worked for you.

These things will only help you prepare for next year. This is the first step, and once done, only you should seek guidance from someone else.

There may be many questions in your mind about what to do next??

I just want to give you a few genuine suggestions; it's up to you if you want to take them.

There are different kinds of people who prepare for this exam. I won't be able to talk about everyone, but I will focus on a few types about whom I feel they may need my suggestions.

Case - I. If you are a banker, working professional, or UPSC aspirant, you can try NABARD Grade A 2023, which is scheduled to be held in October.

Why? Because you have already covered many things under GA and ESI as well as the non-merit sections. You can check out my NABARD Simplified PDF, available in the media section, for more details.

Case - II. If you are a freshly graduated (2021/22/23) and getting a job is also a priority, You should prepare seriously for the IBPS PO/Clerk and SBI PO/Clerk exams, which will be held in the coming months until December. If you do this, then you will get a good command over QRE and also stay in touch with General awareness, which will be handy for you once you again start preparing for RBI Grade B in January directly for the phase II exam.

Case - III. If getting a job is not your priority and you only want to work for Top organizations/Regulators like the RBI, in this case you should diversify your exam preparation. You can prepare for other Regulatory Exams such as NABARD or SEBI/PFRDA/IFSCA (All three have similar syllabus), SIDBI/NHB/ECGC (Similar Pattern). At least few things are common in most exams.

Whatever you choose, if you need any help from my side, feel free to reach out; you know my ID.

Good Luck..

How My Magazine fared in RBI Grade B Phase I Exam? Someone asked me this.

I had already provided detailed information in above post. You can check it. There were questions which were not covered by any magazine such as Question on Magroove but information related to it was available in June month PDF.

This magazine covers - RBI/SEBI Circulars + PIB Programs and Policies + Reports & Indices in Detail.

How is it different from others?

- Because it is made by me 😁

Have got lots of good feedback and positive words, hope it works in Phase II then only it will be a real achievement or genuine one.

Note: The count in above image doesn't include Newspaper otherwise second shift had more than 45+ Questions which were, covered because max questions came from May and June in 2nd shift, I can share the screenshot with proof of questions.

Q. Sir, would you suggest the same (PIB + Newspaper + Any Magazine) for SBI PO as well? Its GA is also now 60.

Q. For bank exams like RRB PO, IBPS PO, and SBI PO, what portion of your PBI can we refer to?

Ans: GA in RRB PO is very different than IBPS PO and SBI PO. Around 30–40% of the questions in GA of RRB PO are from static banking as well as static awareness, which Is not the case in SBI/IBPS PO Exams. Here, the majority of questions come from Business, Banking, Economy Current Affairs, RBI/SEBI Circulars, Reports and Nnational current affairs. Although these things also come in RRB PO but the weightage of these are comparively less.

In my PIB PDF, You can refer to PM In News, Cabinet Approvals, Ministry of Finance, Missed Section, RBI/SEBI Circulars, Reports, and Indices.

Q. Do I need to read the newspaper if I'm doing it from the weekly newspaper summary PDF provided by you, I find it easy to read ?

Ans:- Honesty speaking, I try not to leave any important updates from all the newspapers that I Cover (BS, BL, Mint, TH, FE), but being a human, there may be 1-2 updates that I miss or don't find important.

With respect to the RBI Grade B exam, the only mistake that I made was that I didn't check ET, and out of nowhere, IBPS asked a few questions directly from this newspaper that were not available in others (there were 4-5 such questions). Their favourite newspaper was the Business Standard until now.

Thank you...
