I would not get too caught up in what most of the OT says, many parts of it no longer apply to us under the new covenant, especially as we live in a very different world today than the people of the OT even if there are still many parallels that can be drawn.

I'd like the Bible to back my personal experience... I personally had some experiences when I felt God (the Trinity) but they could have been delusions. For instance, the moment I started to question my atheism I began with a skeptical approach towards the divine nature of Jesus. I randomly found many videos of muslims doing dawa on YouTube and I decided to read the Quran. One day I was in really bad health and prayed Allah to heal me and shortly thereafter I felt well and I took it as a "proof" on the spot. Although, I went on with my reading of the Quran and found a lot of evil and I quitted the reading when I came to the part where Allah says that Muhammad was allowed to have more wives than the other muslims (completely hilarious). That's why I don't want to rely on personal experience, because they are delusions 99% of the time

A revelation may not necessarily be a visual apparition, sometimes it may just be through the work of the Holy Spirit and it’s up to you to notice the patterns and “coincidences”

Personal experiences can indeed be delusions and this is why it’s important not to rely on things like feelings as they come and go and can happen as a result of mere chemical reactions in the brain that have no divine nature to them whatsoever. At least in my personal case my experience to me is impossible to doubt even if everyone in the world told me it was a delusion. I know myself and my own mental capabilities very well, what was done for me could not have been done by me and it was something that goes against the interests of Satan.

Although while it is important to give to the church, almsgiving extends to many other areas. Giving money/food and drink to the homeless, donating clothes, volunteering at homeless shelters, prayer, etc all would also come under almsgiving.
