He was martyred on February 14, in AD 269.
His feast day in February was established by Gelasius I, Bishop of Rome, in honour of his martyrdom, which is the date that was observed in the pre-Schism Roman Patriarchate.
In the Eastern liturgical calendars, however, his feast day is observed twice in July – the 6th and the 30th, as I clearly stated above.
Valentine, Valentina, Valentin – common Christian baptismal names. I know a Valentin and a Valentina at my parish.

Guys need your opinion on this: People say you don’t need to be holy to get Gods help and blessing but it’s obvious you do in scripture.
If Gods not answering your prayers that’s likely why.
This also confuses me though — because people claim we don’t have to be perfect, yet if we have ANY sin in our life’s it hinders our prayers and Gods presence and protection in our lives.
To me it seems we do have to be nearly perfect to get Gods assistance.
It’s very confusing to me.
I don’t understand the point of Jesus if we still have to try to be perfect everyday. I feel like essentially, I’m going to end up having an early stroke from the stress of trying to be holy.
Even thoughts are sins.
Evening gents I've been a lurker for a very long time and rarely message, I ask that you may pray for one of the parish priests in Exeter Fr. Trayan who has been taken to hospital with life threatening heart issues, God bless you all
