I see passages like this as more relevant for evangelism or fundamentals then an actual study Bible as such, so I nickname it the Orthodox Evangelism Bible but yeah OSB officially.

As for our identity all over the world with globalisation and mass immigration Western countries particularly but all nations, including Orthodox majority ones in Eastern Europe are experiencing sweeping demographic change and identity crises that mean the tribalism of Irish Catholic to Greek Orthodox to German Lutheran is increasingly uncommon and instead the whole world is hurting regardless of nation and in some places worse then others so don’t think England is the only one affected or that it doesn’t still have holiness about it or there can’t be positive change as God is the one who is truly in control over Satan and the true home of Orthodox Christians is the Heavenly Kingdom with the promised blessings of eternal life so that we ensure we are beholden to nothing in this fallen world before what God wills for us.
I don’t see how this is a “must watch”. We Orthodox fast properly, as we always have, and we never lost anything like the papists did. The Church has preserved the true ascetic tradition without dilution or compromise, unlike the papists, who abandoned proper fasting disciplines and are now left grasping at comparisons with Mohammedans. The so-called “Ramadan fasting” is nothing but a poor imitation of real asceticism, full of loopholes and lacking the spiritual depth of Orthodox Lent.
If anything, papists should become Orthodox and return to the real Catholic faith, instead of trying to reclaim scraps of what they themselves abandoned. Only in Orthodoxy will they find the fullness of Christian life, including true fasting, as practised by the saints from the beginning. Rather than looking to foreign and false traditions, they should look to the Church that has never wavered and never needed to reinvent itself. Anything less than Orthodoxy is a departure from the truth.

Yep all valid points, I think this is a larger conversation that we can’t possibly do justice to but know what is the solution to all maladies and that’s our Orthodox Christian faith. I fail myself to appreciate and act on this as much as I should, so don’t think what your expressing is a fringe belief but actually shared by illions and culture and race certainly does matter but faith must always be the priority and should inform the rest.

I don’t have time (as you know from our DMs haha) to watch long or even medium length videos all the time now, but I understood where Augustine was coming from based off of the title so maybe you could specify which parts of the video you believe are integral to share, as per time stamps like say 10:08 for 10 minutes and 8 seconds in?
Referring to your explanation on your concerns though, we should remember how much things have changed in the Orthodox landscape in just the past few years alone where there’s been noticeable growth of the Faith and it’s up to all of us to radically change the world by changing ourselves to serve God, otherwise these issues are bigger then us and will go unabetted with so many issues that the real change we need is to adorn the sackcloth of the heart in humility and repentance, so that the beautiful lands of the Holy British Isles to my own uniquely beautiful Great Southern Land home alike can both have true Christians with the grace of the Holy Spirit among them.
Referring to the Mohammedans, indeed they’re a wicked and deceitful sect that St Kosmas Aitolos calls alongside Papism “the greatest enemy of Holy Orthodoxy” and St Kosmas was basically a prophet in the time of the New Covenant, not to mention all the numerous Saints from those who repudiated it directly in St John of Damascus to those who endured to Sainthood under their brutal reign in St Constantine the Turk to those who were killed today in St Daniel Sysoev the New Martyr that are a testament to how evil Islam is and will go, but we should be focusing on what we stand for foremost and any discussion of vigilance of what we’re against should entail what specifically which is a larger subject and might not be pertinent to this channel.
