If you haven’t watched him before, I highly suggest you check out his channel, has hours worth of excellent videos and I think nobody in the modern day does such a good job of explaining God’s love and mercy. I can’t count how many times I’ve been stuck in a rut of despondency only to watch a video from Fr. Spyridon and find myself renewed with hope and burning love for God

Monophysitism is a Christological heresy that originated in the 5th century A.D. Its chief proponent was the monk Eutyches, who stated that in the person of Jesus Christ the human nature was absorbed into the divine nature like a cube of sugar dissolves in a cup of water. Therefore, Christ was left with only one nature, the Divine (Greek mono- one, physis - nature).
Eutyches' position on monophysitism is often referred to as Eutychianism, a position that went beyond the Christology as expressed by Cyril of Alexandria and is also anathematized by non-Chalcedonians who accept the faith of Cyril. Eutyches formulated this doctrine in response to the heresy of Nestorianism, which divided the person of Christ almost to the point of having two separate persons (not two natures, as the Orthodox believe).
Another branch of monophysitism, called Apollinarianism, holds that Christ had a human body and human "living principle," but that the Divine Logos had taken the place of the nous, or "thinking principle," analogous but not identical to what might be called a mind in the present day.
Monophysitism (particularly Eutyches' variety) was condemned at the Fourth Ecumenical Council, held in Chalcedon in the year 451. Apollinarianism had previously been condemned at the Second Ecumenical Council in 381.
The Fourth Ecumenical Council convened in the city of Chalcedon in the year 451. The 630 delegates gathered in the church of Saint Euphemia where her holy relics were housed. The council repudiated the Eutychian doctrine of monophysitism, and set forth the Chalcedonian Creed, which describes the "full humanity and full divinity" of Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity.
Both the Monophysite and Orthodox parties were well-represented at the council, so the meetings were quite contentious, and no decisive consensus could be reached. The holy Patriarch Anatolius of Constantinople proposed that the Council submit the decision of the Church dispute to the Holy Spirit, through His undoubted bearer St. Euphemia the All-Praised. The Orthodox hierarchs and their opponents wrote down their confessions of faith on separate scrolls and sealed them with their seals.
They opened the tomb of the saint and placed both scrolls upon her bosom. Then, in the presence of the emperor Marcian (450-457), the participants of the Council sealed the tomb, putting on it the imperial seal and setting a guard to watch over it for three days. During these days both sides imposed upon themselves strict fasting and prayer. After three days the patriarch and the emperor, in the presence of the Council, opened the tomb and found the scroll with the Orthodox confession was held by St Euphemia in her right hand, while the scroll of the heretics lay at her feet. St. Euphemia, as though alive, raised her hand and gave the scroll to the patriarch. As a result of this miracle, many of the heretics accepted the Orthodox confession, while those remaining obstinant in their heresy were consigned to the Council's condemnation and excommunication.
This miracle is attested by a letter sent by the council to Pope Leo I:
"For it was God who worked, and the triumphant Euphemia who crowned the meeting as for a bridal, and who, taking our definition of the Faith as her own confession, presented it to her Bridegroom by our most religious Emperor and Christ-loving Empress, appeasing all the tumult of opponents and establishing our confession of the Truth as acceptable to Him, and with hand and tongue setting her seal to the votes of us all in proclamation thereof."

I understand you’re just refuting Bolshevik rumours, my point was that even if they had no idea how to run Russia at all, their faith justifies them

Of all the corrupt and egotistical tyrants that God has granted us to teach us hard lessons, we should only be so lucky to have monarchs like Russia had just before they were overthrown
Yeah ROCOR is generally for the more distant countries away from Russia, like in south east Asia for instance there’s an MP presence and North Africa compared to ROCOR mostly in the Americas, Aus/NZ, British Isles etc with its base in NY

I am looking for job opportunities in Ireland and would like to move there on a work visa. I have an Ethiopian passport. If anyone knows of any company or agency that hires from abroad and provides visa sponsorship, please share the details. Thank you!
I know that might seem a lot to take in at once, but take your time and read/watch what is interesting to you.
Of course you’re free to ask questions in this chat, I don’t claim to be well learned in Oriental theology but I do have a blessing for evangelism and can help explain some of the Orthodox positions.
Ok, just letting you know we are not in the same communion as yourself.
Our church and yours had a schism at the Council of Chalcedon in 451, where we believe God the Son had two full natures - divine and human.
If you would like some more information about our Church, let me know as I’ve got a bunch of resources on these kinds of subjects.
Take care.
G’day, are you a member of the Orthodox Catholic/aka as the Eastern Orthodox Church or what’s known as the Oriental Orthodox Church?

Yeah all good, text can lose the nuances with tone unfortunately.
Читать полностью…Well it’s relevant in that they were the royal family and head of state in St Nicholas’ case that navigated Russia through a perilous time, hence the idea they were incompetent to the extent the aforementioned portray is just blasphemous slander.
They achieved victory ultimately though through Christ, with the royal red crown of martyrdom being bestowed upon them.
ROCOR really is one of the smallest jurisdictions in the Church, MP the biggest by heaps.
