Deutsche Zeppelin-Reederei actually still exists to this day, albeit due to revival in 2001, rather than continuous operation.
The original company existed from 1935 to 1940. This was their flag.
The successor company's flag is, of course, more bland, so much so that I don't even feel like posting it here.
Basically, they kept the globe and zeppelin and removed everything else.
Sometimes you post a picture, and you never truly realize that it has deeper history behind it.

A reference to Rudyard Kipling's collection of short stories published under the same name.
Now, why the soldiers three in the upper left corner look suspiciously like German soldiers is puzzling. General Motors Corporation made almost 600 000 three-axle military vehicles from 1940 to 1945, so they should know the helmets, uniforms and rifles used by the U.S. Army.

My best guess is that the flight was departing from Pakistan and then reaching New York with a stop over in Paris
Читать полностью…🏙 I've posted the WTC a couple of times purely for aesthetic reasons, but now that today is the date of this terrible happening, I am obliged to make a post.
You may think this is a post 9/11 poster, but it is actually Pakistan Airline's ad published in 1979.
❓The time above the WTC 1 is the time it took for a flight to reach New York from Pakistan, not France. Thus, why the text is in French is a mystery. It reads:
New York via Pakistan International One of the few airlines serving New York directly, offering the best proven connections to the provinces. Further proof of the efficiency of PIA.Читать полностью…
PIA is an international airline with spectacular growth:
3,000,000 passengers this year, one take-off every 6 minutes.
A success carefully built on passenger satisfaction.
For a successful flight to New York or 60 other major cities around the world, fly via PIA.
Great people to fly with.
Lastly, people know that a zeppelin is large, but they do not fully comprehend how large exactly. Here is a nice little chart to help you imagine the size.

Awesome graphic. Posted 14 Dec 2013 on tumblr (designeverywhere.tumblr.com/post/69935325118/) and was submitted by Maciej Kułakowski (mnms-blog.tumblr.com/archive) I assume either worked at or simply designed the poster for POCO Galeria
He reused his style and colours on 12 Dec 2015 for another POCO event (facebook.com/events/935968106483111?post_id=940970095982912&view=permalink)
For more of his work (he is now based in Berlin), his tumblr is linked above and I found his portfolio (behance.net/mnms) which handily also contains both posters

In any case, as a birthday tribute, I am reposting the channels that have reposted this channel. Returning the favor, so to speak.

If I have missed your channel, send a word, and I will make a special post just for you!
The front and center looks to be a Mercedes-Benz W31 typ G4, which, although produced until 1939, remained an iconic vehicle. If you search for historical photos, you will instantly recognize it.
Moving on, the cars to the sides look like Mercedes-Benz 170 V / VK Kübelwagen (not to be confused with the Volkswagen Kübelwagen), produced until 1942, although production did resume after the war.
And finally, we have the planes, which are most probably Dornier Do 217-M, known as the Fliegender Bleistift or "flying pencil", due to its thin design. 1925 units of Do 217 were produced from 1940 to 1945. The "M" variant had Daimler-Benz DB 603A inline piston engines, produced from 1942 until 1945.
Based on this, I'd say that this is around late 1942.
ROOF-TOP AIRPORT (1937)
It could rotate and turn toward the wind.
I'm guessing both the construction and the airplanes would have to be light enough to not fall through the roof of the building, meaning no bombers could be craned up there. At the same time they would have to be heavy enough to withstand stronger winds.

Actually, it does have something in common with France, since part of the quote is missing:
