I have analysed 50 students sept 24 answer booklet, few common mistakes which every students did.

1) Not understanding question requirement properly.

2) Wrote some other concept correctly but not relevant for that particular question (Especially in subject Audit, Law).

3) Myth has been created in society ICAI is not giving proper marks.

4) Let me tell you honestly there can be 1% error that 1-2 marks less, paper checker would have given that too in 1-2 question, but the same is being compensated by way of grace marks, so 99% ICAI is expecting from students to write relevant keywords, not the understanding of subject you have.

5) 30-40% lacking of conceptual clarity was seen in few answer booklet (Especially in income tax, law, audit).

Learning points :

1) Read and understand question properly (Audit, law).

2) 100% Conceptual clarity is definitely needed to tackle MCQs easily.

3) Don't underestimate small para also if you are referring ICAI study material.

Wherever in ICAI study material paragraphs are given break down it into pointers, and try to learn them instead of feeling not relevant or just ignoring.

4) Eg : Sept 24 audit paper they was a question related to inter relationship between audit strategy and audit plan.

Most of the students couldn't able to write more than 2 points properly.

I know well 90% students are not doing, it’s ok I am not at any loss.

You will really feel bad, if something goes wrong on result date. You will be 100% responsible for that.

Still it’s time to realise and start following things as we are moving.

1) I have analysed Sept 24 audit exam paper first 2 QA - where it can create confusion in identifying concept/chapter.

2) Then given suggested answer from ICAI study material.

3) Then compared with 2 students what they have written.

4) Finally the learning point is given to both the students for each question.

There is a huge gap between ICAI expectation and what students have answered.

Student 1 : Scored 34 marks in audit.

Student 2 : Scored 39 marks in audit.

Nearly 70% students marks in audit range between 35-48.

For those 70% Students try to analyse this pdf then start working on your weakness.

Do utilise it. Don't be fooling yourself in following few teachers advice by not giving mock test.

If you want to pass mock test is compulsory.

ICAI would have not put efforts, time, resources every attempt in preparation mock test.

There is a importance of giving mock test, the sooner you understand the sooner you are close to your success.
