Classic jinx — as soon as I recommend cappers they lose. Motor City Locks goes 1-5, CapCitySports loses his only play. Duck Investment tops the ranking, his guaranteed picks are 4-0 (he also started last month at the top and ended at the bottom). Bosh Bets had a good read on the Argentina game. Added LawkeItUp back, added 3 new cappers — Safe Pickz, Madcapped and Vinny's Plays. We'll track and see how it goes.

So far MotorCityLocks is the one who brings us a holiday of betting, he's off to a strong start, TylersMindset is back with a 2-0 day. Duck Investments guaranteed picks are on a 3-0 run. PardonMyPick is on a 2-0 run with his 2U plays (he decreased unit size to 2u from 5u, must realize MLB is tough). #fivestar and #trustmysystem are at the bottom, I'm afraid this month can be very bad for them. Other than that no major changes.

Profitable approaches to betting MLB
On the examples of our top 4 cappers/systems at MLB this season
MLB is a bitch and very few cappers are actually good at it. But let's look at what has been profitable so far.
I'll be only covering the cappers & systems I've been tracking thoroughly as it is the only material I can work with. All stats are as of 7/5/24.
1. Betting trends (#MLBTrends)
67-41 | 13.49% ROI | 62% win rate
I started tracking how the very first and last games each MLB game day go for shits and giggles. As of 7/5/24, UNDERS are 52-40 (56.52%) in the first games and 49-47 (51.04%) in the last games this season. FAVORITES are 54-41 (56.84%) in the first games and 53-41 (56.38%) in the last games of the slate. So, knowing that, we can probably somehow profit, right?
Yep. I wait for these trends to get on short losing streaks and try to get a couple wins within a short period of time & doubling down in case of loss (sometimes. sometimes not).
2. Bunch of plays every day (Your Daily Capper, Scuzzlocks)
YDC: 93-62 | 8.55% ROI | 60% win rate (MLB only)
Scuzz: 105-70 | 11.14% ROI | 60% win rate (MLB only)
This approach applies to 90% of cappers. YDC has been the most profitable so far with 7% ROI over 152 plays (+11 units). However, this is all thanks to his 14-0 run. If it wasn't for this winning streak, he wouldn't have been here. But I can't say he was bad - longest losing streak at MLB was 5 losses in a row and the lowest profit mark he ever hit was -5 units.
Scuzz has had more winning streaks of 5-7 wins in a row, but his longest losing streak was 6 losses in a row. Other than that, his MLB has been much smoother and profitable all the time after the first ~20 picks (it took YDC over 100 picks to hit the 14-0 win streak).
3. One play a day (Parlay Paul POTDs)
57-31 | 7.86% ROI | 64.8% win rate (MLB only)
Paul has been doing well with MLB since the very start of the season and we hopped on that train (20-6 in April), but slowed down after that hot month. He ended May on a 6-0 run but overall it was a -1.6. And then there was a 12-0 run in June, although June was just +3.8 units. So, if you're doing just one play day get ready for steep losing and winning streaks.
However, I must say, there are other cappers who do just one play a day and don't have the same results. Maybe the answer lies in the fact the Parlay Paul mostly bets favorites and rarely underdogs on the run line (average odds - -140 / 1,70)
4. Martingale system (#KOLDINTEL)
19-17 | 10.79% ROI | 52.8% win rate (MLB only)
Quite an interesting approach Kold never told me fully about, but the essence is in multiplying the amount you bet by ~2.5x with each loss. He selects various cappers and has his own systems I don't know about but as long as it brings it's good. But if you want to try something like this on your own, you have to have a system that you will stick to - jumping from one team (or capper) to another wouldn't work.
UPD: I started writing this text yesterday when Kold was top 4 but his system lost 3.4 units on the Royals F5 yesterday so he is now top 8 😬
To sum up, MLB can be tough as long as you don't have your own system and of course bankroll management which is always crucial in betting. And not all cappers who use the same or like approaches can be successful. I guess it's a matter of time to figure the right ones.

Free plays better than paid plays?
I've been looking at many many cappers and their plays for the last 3.5 years. One interesting thing I noticed is sometimes there are cappers who are doing extraordinary with their free plays. But when you pay for their services — the results are not what you would expect.
I think the answer lies in the very human nature and our greed. You profit from free stuff, you think you can profit more by signing up for the paid content. As easy as that.
In reality, turns out that is not necessarily so. At best I would be breaking even - happened to me multiple times.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it applies to all cappers. There are guys who occasionally sell their picks and they deserve to get tipped for what they do. And then there are loud cappers who easily trigger people to buy their stuff. And it's not bad either as long as they deliver good results - everyone is happy.
But if something seems to be working just fine - why change anything? Perfect is the enemy of good.
Also can't but mention CapCitySports - a winner of our cappers contest from a year ago. Long story story short, his MLB picks have been on a rise and he's already 4-0 in July.

Motor City Locks is proving with deeds, not words, that he can be a competition to Scuzz. Both Golden Gamblers and Bass Picks swept, Bass's algorithm bets are especially good. PickzHub seems to be hot. PitchInvasion keeps dropping solid soccer picks. The Baseball Lab seems to be very consistent with MLB - not a single losing month and not much action at decent odds (mostly plus-money). Bosh Bets is struggling but last month's start was rocky too, so I think he'll get out of it. Also adding CapCity to the list, he's been doing great recently.

1. Yankees F5 -0.5 — #NL. Probably the best option I see so far. There's also one more new hot capper on the same play - /channel/betting_intel/2480
2. Astros ML — #TPD has been hot with MLB, this might also be a good move
#fivestar and #scuzzlocks both have Cubs, I don't know about them, this team has failed us too many times this season. Cubs are also getting increased attention from cappers today.
However, I think it is safe to say that all Scuzz's picks can be tailed today - he's consistent and I doubt he will reverse sweep. But that's if you don't want to dig for nuggets.

Hey everyone! As you see, we’ve left out a bunch of cappers and only the most interesting ones remain. And those whom we’ve been tracking for a long time like #trustmysystem, #sms (smart money sports) or #fivestar. Speaking of whom, he’s off to a great start despite a very short slate. So let’s go through this month’s list.
Added PickzHub to this month’s ranking. Mostly for the memes. But he claims to be very good at MLB. Returned Tyler - I talked to him, he promised no more bullshit and no more 100 units per day, off to a start with a sweep. Trapper Intel - new source, not my burner account, but I guess we start setting the tone. Motor City Locks - a fresh capper from Twitter who promised to be even better than Scuzz (btw scuzz is now in the paid channel ranking but I’ll still post his picks here). Sammy is also back, let’s see how it goes.
