I wouldn’t be surprised if the super old versions didn’t have that problem.

But I had a version on my OP6 with CR8 for years that finally stopped working and would then consistently crash on the Play homepage. (If I used a long press to go directly to a child page when opening it usually didn’t crash. This was corroborated with other microG users, see below.)

So after updating it it was fine again (and I noted that the layout had changed eg submenus and menu items and such which may have been the reason for the incompatibility)

Then eventually that one “went bad” too and once again I had to update it to make it work again.

Mind you I do not run Gapps, these are all running in conjunction with microG. I have no idea if that’s also a factor.

Also, in part because of PS usual malware-like behaviour of constantly trying to update itself without warning or consent (which in the past would often break its functionality after an update) I typically keep the app frozen until I need it for installing something or verifying an app license etc.
