HIGHLIGHTS - Pope Francis and the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, Pope Tawadros II, led the general audience at the Vatican on Wednesday, sitting together on the platform in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. Tawadros II's visit marks the anniversary of a historic encounter in 1973 between St. Paul VI and Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria, which marked a renewal in Catholic-Coptic Orthodox relations. Tawadros II addressed the crowd gathered in St Peter’s Square, the first time the head of another Church has done so.
